The company stated "It is expected that the Court Meeting and the General Meeting will take place in July 2022. The Acquisition is currently expected to complete during the fourth quarter of 2022"
Does anyone know when this amount will be paid to the shareholders?
Last post: new-to-market, 24 May 2022 17:03
Well ahha - we got the answer on the final dividend - shame but I think it was only wishful thinking :)
I was wondering that ahha - and well done for your purchase yesterday!
HAPPY DAYS!!! Congratulations to all shareholders who stuck in there! Will there be a dividend as well?
I bought 10,000 of these at £10.54 a few days ago.....he's hoping for a nice quick profit on my investment tomorrow!
20% up will do very nicely ... fingers crossed!
It surprises me no end how often UK fund managers are at letting companies be taken over without a real fight..... Lazy or overpaid ? guess that's why the FTSE is still pretty much at the same level as it was 20 years back.
C'mon the Canadians - make the offer

I was just wondering how long it will be for the money to be transferred to us in exchange for our shares?

Aless...... thanks ,that's given me more focus to invest ....
Forward adjusted P/E nearer 23-25 at this price. Checkatrade seeing a lot of growth.
Lex: Don't look at 2021 earning to calculate the PE ratio. That was affected by an exceptional item.
The company yields about 3% of well covered dividends which have increased consistently over a number of years.
In the long term I can see HSV be worth over £15 per share. Customer retention is great in the UK. In the US the company seems to be repeating the UK success.
Only made 47 million and on a PE of over 80 ,are they mad or am I missing something ...
Mysterious - don't blush, in the past we've all done it!

Would be a fool to walk away, especially in this market

Interesting, although any bidder will have a limited timeframe to make an offer now. There are less than 2 weeks before the management in HSV discloses their intention to accept Brookfield's offer

Does anyone understand the numerous RNS's of the past few days, including today's?
Aless.if a company is taken private the acquirer usually buys all the shares from holders at the agreed takeover price - they are acquired by a scheme that does not require consent once a certain level of acceptances are reached.
What happens to our shares if the company is taken private, I understand we can no longer sell the shares on the main market but it should be possible OTC (even inside an ISA?). I am not familiar with this, does anyone know more?
FROM THE RNS TODAY
The Board has decided to enter into discussions with Brookfield in relation to a potential offer for the Company.
Great - 1200p plus at least.
An extension to the deadline would be announced, wouldn't it?

Brookfield is taking is sweet time to announce the intent to put an offer in or walk away. Considering the 2 bank holidays, there are only 5 days left until the 21st. I think they want to see where the share price stabilise a consider that as a fair market price

I can see this creeping up to £9 today on speculation that a bid will arrive, at £11 ish and the founder will take the cash and retire - we shall see.
I think this is going to be very interesting over the next few days/weeks

For the LTHs: any thoughts on the Homserve Labs disposal? It's being reversed into a shell and trading on Monday. HSV are retaining a c. 20% shareholding. Looks like they wrote off the £15m investment on this sub.
I didn't know about these dynamics of selling on small volumes! Thanks for your insight.
Alessandro,
I look to this stock from a completely different angle, and this is why I haven't started to panic (yet).
There are 2 major shareholders the owner and BG one of the most experienced investment co's. In Jan a 3rd major investor took a position.
They are not in to loose so in the worst of the worst they will make a lot of acquisitions and sell it.
All the rest of the macro economics factors will affect everyone almost the same.
Please note that the drop in price is not proportional with the volume so some of the shorters will bombard with very very small sales just to create panic and to hit automatic stop losses. Always look to the volume of the sales. Same strategy is used when a major holder wants to create a position, it won't let the price to go up before it would fill its pockets.
cheers,
Thanks Papucel.
What do you expect from the next sets of results, in particular with regards to the increased cost of gas, would that hint households to mitigate by cancelling their policies? Other factors at play are inflation, interest rates (even if very marginally in my opinion), increased operational costs due to rising energy cost and wages. Although according to Richard H. inflation has had minimal impact on the company, at the time he was interviewed.
I think the biggest factors for an upside are the seemingly thriving US market and potential to increase the customer base in the UK, due to the acquisition of new customers by energy suppliers that are also HSV partners.
Alessandro I was in at 8.70 as well you are not alone
You got in at a great price. I was in at 870...

O dear dear dear is it no-one here? It seems to be the most inactive board I am on
Does anyone hold this stock?
In the light of the interim results, what can be an estimate for the EPS growth in the next three years, considering the mentioned acquisitions planned in the next two years.
Thank you!
Divi increase and confident outlook should help the sp push a little higher - we shall see.
Thanks for the updates , much appreciated.
All UK stocks being hammered atm , in particular those that rely on consumers discretionary spend because on inflation and tax increases. Fall overdone here imv - might buy in if it gets much cheaper but have to sell something that is also depressed!

Some good strong positive news
Anybody got any thoughts?
I wish I had waited, I got in at £9.95 whilst it was dropping. Pulled the trigger way to early but it will get back to levels earlier this year for sure
Not a bad annual report.
Figures look good to me...
Should see an uptick now
No brainer at this price.!
GLA
Dipped my toe in here yesterday at 950, will top up at 850 should it get there....

Good morning.
Opinion: with the sterling (GBP) getting stronger vs. Euro and USD in the next 3-5 years (in my prediction), how much would the earning from Europe and the US be hurt, negatively impacting the cash flow and potentially dividends and share price? Or am I getting this wrong and foreign exchange would have a different or no impact on the business?
A company that profits by ripping off vulnerable customers. Hopefully the new insurance legislation will stop them doing this.
Nasty company, looks like it has nasty investors as well.
I'll post what I like, who do you think you are to tell me what I can and can't post.
Are u joking?? Its a business at the end of the day and not a charity... stop posting **** like that ????
Terrible company. They increased my mother's boiler cover by 30% to £60 per month. I have cancelled the cover, it is a rip off.
I work for them - This has defo been oversold -
It's a great company, great place to work, great people,. Yes a bad decision on the system that has just been wrote off but this is a profit making company which has gone global. This share price will recover like it always does. How it's dropped today I don't know, the news was good!
