The feeling is they’ll need three crews, finding that for seasonal jobs in Cornwall seems like a big ask at this stage. First sailing is in three weeks. With crew certification and familiarisation to be done?
' The feeling Is ' what are you talking about ?
The Scilly discussion on the add, a 1:1 change and a backup, to cover sickness or no shows, can’t see it working otherwise
I'm more focused on what to me is further confirmation that they are pursuing this.
I will leave it up to the company to decide on what level of staffing they consider adequate. I don't attempt to be a Jack of all trades and a master of none.
Jolly pleased all progressing ! Well done H&W.
Think in an 'alright space' 😀
The company doesn’t decide what crewing requirements are, the MCA and countless other safety bodies do. I don’t think some people on this page realise how little control H&W have over any of this. To be fair, I’m not convinced JW does either.
This ship ain't sailing in May.
Says Seastar on that link. That's a completely different ship and not the Aquabus Jet1. What's all that about?
Okay, wrong pic but has to be H&W related as same with finance deals, "flexibility will be required around joining dates" lol
Thought they had crew sorted, but if not, aren't they leaving it a bit late for a May start if they are only just advertising for crew?
What made you think crew sorted Si ?
Alas that would be common sense but perhaps we should just file under: ‘jack of all trades, master of none’ 😂
To use a well used phrase on here, because JW said so.

"when we look at the operations onboard the vest, on board the fast ferry, um, again we are bringing in IMS to operate the vessel on our behalf"
I struggle to see the Atlantic Wolff getting everything arranged in time-proper,unless they forego painting, but then all certifications have to be done as well.? They may charter in a temp Ferry as well as crew from IMS (would explain why it seems a stock photo used and not the Wolff pic) for the first 1-2 months to get things off the ground on time. At least it would give them more time to finish the Wolff proper, train, recruit, certify etc.?
but Communication to those passengers making bookings is now "Critical" and letting us know wouldn't harm either.!
Flicking between reading the transcript of the Scrutiny Comittee video and writing it out here I pressed the wrong button and sent to early. He carried on to say, "... um, certainly for the first season. These guys are experts in operating highspeed ferries globaly, um, they'll come in and do the, um, bearthing trials and (Dale?) is arranging to do the pilot exemption certificate with them when they're in, um, after the first season we may bring that in house or may leave it outsourced."
You may not ever want to listen to it again but it's all there. Sooo, one way to explain the situation that may be more appealing to those that can only ever see positives is they are getting in new crew to work alongside IMS.

If they are still going to be using the Aquabus Jet 1, where it is currently moored up is alongside a company called Uniservice 98. One of their services is pickling and painting.

Got a craving for some pickles now. :)
