Twonko, youv lost out big time, you need to broaden your horizon and look global.
Look at graphs abd do better research is my point.
You need to diversify and get out if UK stocks, they severely underperform global stocks like JNJ, BMY, NVS, ROCHE, VERT, ABBVIE, etc.
Gsk is just a cash cow which i have repeatedly said before. UK stocks need to reduce there payouts save money and invest better
Seaking I would agree with you but I've been saying the same for too many years and the future never seems to come for GSK. Side by side with any one of numerous other large pharmas, GSK comes a pitiful second. It's just like being a Spurs supporter, which I have been since 1965. A life dogged by despondency and under-achievement (them, not me).
"resign, the shares would gain 20% on that alone."
Maybe slightly unfair, but I picture Liz truss when I see Walmsley - an unshakeable belief in her own competence, in the face of thin expertise in the field and woeful performance and value destruction, appointed for God knows what reason (well one can speculate)! And doubtless glee in the markets if she were shown the door.
I love these dips to put a little more in and bring the average down.
Shareholder value destruction continues despite the split. She got what she wanted in a debt free enviroment and the relentless charge to zero is in full swing. God knows how she sleeps at night although maybe the reward package is helpful. Please do the decent thing and resign, the shares would gain 20% on that alone.
Is there any other FTSE 100 CEO that has lasted so long whilst being responsible for such shareholder destruction.
Not wanting to suggest anything untoward but would a male CEO that had performed like Emma still be in role?
Just a question
Everyone is selling it seems! Then I'm buying on this dip, be greedy when others are fearful!
Keep dropping . I’m here for the future not the past.
Twonko
Was going to post something similar.......always seems 1 step forward 2 steps back.....think it's time to move out
I've held GSK for quite a bit longer than a decade and other than a once decent divi, it has disappointed virtually constantly. I have watched AZN and others reward investors handsomely while GSK treads water and occasionally sinks. The split earlier in the year was supposed to release value and instead, both shares have plummeted. I'm with Fox. When I can get a half decent price, I'm gone.
cheers, iv added BMY cheers, along with ROCHE & MERCK

An update on where they see GSK amongst majors
https://m.uk.investing.com/news/stock-market-news/pharma-stocks-rerated-at-credit-suisse--roche-gsk-upgraded-novartis-downgraded-432SI-2752704?ampMode=1
here’s a question to you all who invest in other pharmaceuticals .
I sold my Novartis on Friday for what it was, dollar strength is still continuing to ruin the business.
Iv looked at Roche ( might be tempted ).
Other than GSK, ROCHE & maybe BMY what other pharmaceutical can anyone else give a shout out to besides these ( Abbvie, ASTRA, GILD & JNJ)
cheers
A very detailed stock analysis of GSK : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vuCMi6cf8ew
I told everyone this wasn’t going to sparkle like you thought.
Every sign about GSK is not there just yet.
To have a HOLD at it still, though a 12mth target of 1700p is just not entertaining. We’v all been there i’m sure.
Most global pharmas have beat, a couple missed due to FX issues like NVS with strong dollar.
The plus point, pharmas will outperform the greater market going into a recession, which we are already in.
I’m not buying yet, as there is uncertainty about too many things in economies. I’ll look after Nov17 ( ex-div)
Despite beating consensus earnings forecasts by 17% yesterday SP was unmoved yesterday. No doubt GSK in unloved by the market at the moment. Until there is some clarity regarding Zantac litigation this situation will not change.
I am actually beginning to despise this share. When I can get some sort of profit I am gone.
Not that many shares traded today. Tomorrow will be different after funds crunching the numbers. My view going on past trades v announcements.
What just happened? A drop of 40p off it's high price? I had the finger on the sell button coming up to Dow opening. Should have pressed sooner. "Buy on rumour and sell on fact"?
Think that’s what box meant.
Next dividend is 12 Jan..........it's ex dividend date in a couple of weeks.
Nice to see the rise and hopefully back to where we should be.
Dividend also due in next two weeks. So, we should see a run up in share price to that.
Methinks GSK are finally going to start moving upwards significantly over the next year . They have so much going for them now. Sales should also start motoring with the HIV as well. :-).
