This I don't understand, · Reported loss for the period of £4.1m includes a £5.7m reduction in relation to discontinued activities and the sale of the generation assets. Driven by accounting treatment as a result of the disposal of generation portfolio assets in January 2022.
The report is for year ending Dec 2021 so why are revenues from assets sold in Jan 2022 being included?
How is the shorting going Little?
I agree the assets were up for sale, and I wrote to board to try and stop them and start up new projects. I do note that some wind farms are having turbines replaced after only 25years so the onshore assets we still having will probably be able to be upgraded. }
Hope to see this over 350 again.
perfect share to short. they sold the wrong part of the business at a discounted price and are now left with nothing. finished company get rid of the CEO AND BOARD
They wanted the renewables that BOD just force-sold so what keeps ECO onside to keep playing nice with their 25% stake?
just leaves a very sour taste in the mouth... BoD chose self interest over investors.
being back at 250 just doesn't make up for it!
There has been a long history of board conflicts between Ecotricity and Good energy, and as a previous investor I am once again taking an interest ..
Yes it was probably good to dispose of generation assets at a premium, no it was not god to do so before the GM, but the gamble is that the wholesale price will fall faster than the cash burn will diminish the benefits. The wholesale price may not in fact fall very fast at all.
BUT if these funds are now used to build profitable "Off the grid" generation and charge stations, ahead of the curve, to meet the needs of ever growing numbers of EV on the roads, then there is still a good business, but the challenge here is to actually stay in business during this "Energy Famine", and with the retail market cap below wholesale costs how long can the firm survive.
I am sitting here along with my fellow "Gyps" (vultures), waiting for the share price to bottom out before piling back in again.
So the choice is either to sell and wait to buy back, or just wait. We could see £1 or even 70p before any upwards movement.
either way if you dump your shares cheap, the buyers will pick them up sooner or later and hope for profits.
Little point in the GM to remove the BoD or save the assets when they've now been sold.
Don't see Eco being bothered about losing value on their holding... can see the sp being trashed and little reason in the near term to be holding it, at pretty much any price as ZapMap won't be a positive asset for months, if not years.
Sold up... good luck, all.
we've got rid of the crown jewels and are barely left with anything wtf are the board thinking???????? cut price deal i bet too no matter how they spin it
what a farce selling these assets. rubbish deal for shareholders and nothing more than an asset strip by a predator fund
Alot of sense in demanding share holders have a vote in whether we sell off assets.
I am beginning to think Ecotricity do have the answers for some of this board's poorly thought out strategy.
Yes there may be some shareholders worried they voted down the offer. Nothing to stop Ecotricty buying up and increasing their slice of this cake, and on the cheap.
Just wish the board could consider a small offshore project, green hydrogen or even a few solar farms.
Happy Xmas.
Will send a bag of anti-depressants to the board. Don’t want them releasing another RNS like that.
WTF.
Yes what was it £4 a share. hindsight.
can see the sp being half what they offered.
A little disappointed here. It’s like selling your “Crown Jewels” imo. I’m sure this company could raise funds to push Zap ahead if it’s so valuable.
Green energy certainly has value atm. Can raise against this.
There again you never know what is going on behind closed doors. Bod have developed a decent company here.

I suspect if Ecotricity made another slightly improved offer it'd get over the line. Divesting from green energy with knowlable numbers is a million miles away from this punted Zapmap move...
I don't think there is any news in the RNS - its a slight reduction in % due to new shares issued recently (exec share option exercise.)
RNS dated 8 Oct stated
"As at the date of this announcement, Ecotricity holds 4,169,948 Good Energy Shares, representing approximately 25.1 per cent. of Good Energy's issued ordinary share capital."

However keep us posted if you any rumours of another go but given change in Strategy I imagine any takeover may come from another party.
Either they were telling porkies or late announcing but, as the rns is dated 23 Nov (and unless they're also not reporting their sells) could be another stab at aggressive take-over. And, with the price wallowing at 276, if ECO offer better than the last 430p offer then I'm sure it'll pass.
Keep an eye out for any press suggestions or rumour of second go...
Seems to have recovered a bit now. Maybe yesterday’s big seller buying back in?
Little bit upset here today, put so much into this in the hope they increased their generation portfolio. I did write to the previous CEO/founder J.D. over a year ago and got no reply.
I am sure this will all go fine for the company, just not how I wanted it to go.
Think that this is the way forward.
