Levi - you have also stated previously it will not happen within 18 months. CB will not announce what happens next in the open pit until he has the official letter in his hands - even through we have the minutes, and the cadastre update, and when it is I would expect it to be subject to an immediate RNS. I think the Roast guys are in Zambia at the moment, maybe they are also on a rambling trip in addition to the other guys on site at Luansobe the other week.
It's 6 months away and with a good partner that's long enough for a relatively simple open pit now we have the license so we are told - only time will tell. Not to say that you might not be right which would be a v big disappointment IMO
Good post cyber apart from the last paragraph.
If Sept 24 was going to be hit things and materials need to be moving to site now.
It won't be this year imo.
This is what I just posted in AFP:
"There is very likely to be a placing in 2024 IMO - as long as there is a partner organised with relevant funding for the open pit at Ongombo and a firm start date then that's not the end of the world, if we will be producing Cu soon after.
I have heard that jan/ feb 25 for production. It would be soooo good for once if target dates where met with this group of companies rather than constantly over promising, that's what kills the interest"
The last para does apply to GLR in the past and its about time it didn't - can easily be solved by keeping shareholders properly updated and only setting a target date when properly confident it can be hit.
I actually so think the clearly stated Luansobe target of sept/oct 24 can and should be hit. Perhaps Colin is just surrounded by yes men and women and maybe that should change too - I would be saying focus on one or 2 key deliverables in the group companies and their projects (too many of these), focus resources on the priorities and get them DONE!
When you are ready Colin š¤·āāļø
PL39/PL40 - Definitely. Don't rule out SFR wanting PL253 - it was flown by SFR for free, SFR are working with Cobre either side of PL253, and BHP are sniffing around Cobre assets either side of PL253 by award of that grant etc.
Absolutely agree with this Chrisp. SFR have known the detail about our KCB licences for a long time now and at no point as it been stated SFR are not interested. I suspect the licence they had off us will not only be sending us a huge payment, but they will also be snapping up PL39 and 40 off us as well.
From the last Sunday roast, it sounds as if PL253 is a bit too far away from SFR to be interested, but we know a firm who would be very interested in this licence and right next to proven huge finds!
I read the AFP results and I thought that when they explained that the deposit in their licenses were too small for SFR demonstrates that the licenses that SFR bought of GLR are not too small and we could be getting some very good news from SFR, even this year.
CB bought some GLR shares and one of the many reasons might be that he knows GLR will not be having a placing any time soon but AFP will need one very soon and he will obviously need to take part. AFP used around $650,000 last year and at the end of last year they had Ā£375,000 cash so they will need a placing this year. I obviously think GLR is in by far the best position but I also think XTR with all their cash coming in are in a better position than AFP.
'First paragraph of the Chairman's Statement,
African Pioneer continues to make good progress in a climate where smaller mining companies are starved for attention.'
The Majors are still busying themselves with mergers, less risk attached in buying producing assets but are not adding to global inventory only moving existing resources around. Eventually they will turn to acquisition for new ground and prospects and the junior explorer/developer such as Galileo. The mining cycle is a protracted process.
Well we will see whowrotethis.
I am only slightly in the red here.
Iām in profit Levi ā¦ but being underwater seems to be your main burden and is now muddying your analysis of events and tainting your view point.
Unfortunately I invested in both Afp and Glr before knowing Bird's play book.
I was warned about but didn't listen and shut my ears just like you.
I remain invested as I am underwater and I will remain for the copper investment but don't think that anything is going to be producing anytime soon.
I sincerely hope he proves me wrong and you can all have a dig at me. There is nothing more I would like.
And in that case why on Earth do you invest here if that is how you make your decisions ā¦ ?
The comparison never was the country or the asset but the one who pulls the levers.
My point is whowrotethis, because you are not getting it, the comparison being simple open pit blah blah and another round of drilling, what is the betting that there will be another excuse for drilling at Luansobe.
Do you get it now, the Colin Bird modus operandi. Set them up and then pull the rug.
All in my opinion of course š¤
Levi is making direct comparisons between two different companies in two different countries in Africa and has no intention of providing any data to justify their claim about anything ā¦
Luansobe producing this year š¤£š¤£š¤£
A Bird (pigeon) shaat on me on the way to the gym this afternoon. I hope this is a harbinger of a great double cash and license RNS rather than err just getting shaat on by a bird
Wait and ye shall see whowrotethis š
AFP ... ? This is GLR Levi ... how does Ombongo compare to Luansobe ... set out the comparison in point form from your copious research, shouldn't take you more than a few minutes to cut and paste the information on here.
AFP results out. More drilling to be done at Ombongo. Didn't see that one coming Colin. Simple open pit blah blah, you're having a larf Bird.
FY report out from AFP.
Yes like publishing the plan.
If they plan to mine September / October then I would expect them to progress what they can when they can sensibly. Plenty of things to get sorted.
