To be fair, GLIF is very, very active in an expanding market of Alternative lending and funding, As long as it keeps spreading risk across many investments, funds and platforms etc all should be fine. YES ................80p would be VERY, VERY good but at 50p with a near 10% Divi I'm not to fussed. This could end up being another BRIT ! .......anyway a great holding for income seeking ISA holders !
Simon Thompson in Investors Chronicle yesterday. " So with GLI Finance's shares trading at net asset value, and offering a near 10 per cent dividend yield, I remain a buyer and maintain fair value at 80p."
ST in Investors Chronicle reiterates BUY advice online today with target of 80p. Not that his tips have done me much good in the past - so DYOR.
Interims now out. All looks good to me. Great growth prospects over a diverse portfolio of platforms and a continued focus on maintaining/growing the excellent dividend.
If the trades Roses mentions are buys then that presumably makes a lot of the other 'sells' buys too, although I am now being quoted .51 to sell?
I see Directors have been buying too. All looking good to me.
http://*********************/views/15221/gli-finance-launches-closed-end-fund-shares-are-a-buy-yield-95 GLI Finance (GLIF) has announced that “it has successfully launched GLI Alternative Finance plc, a closed end fund focusing on a loan portfolio diversified by geography, asset class, duration and security” Recently established GLI Finance subsidiary, GLI Asset Management, is to manage the fund, with the intention of the portfolio being principally originated through the investee platforms in which GLI holds equity investments. An initial portfolio of loans has been transferred by GLI in consideration for the issue of 40,270,763 shares in the alternative finance plc, whilst a further 12,389,587 shares at £1 each have also been issued in the new plc, to see a total of 52,710,350 shares in issue on admission to the Specialist Fund Market of the London Stock Exchange on 23rd September. The alternative finance plc “intends to target a net dividend yield of 8% per annum”, whilst it will also pay a management fee, on the lower of net asset value or market cap, of “0.75% p.a. up to £100 million; 0.5% p.a. over £100 million”. However, despite these latest developments, shares in GLI Finance currently remain at recently reduced levels of a 51.5p offer price. This follows an update last month and CEO Geoff Miller noting earlier this month that “the provision of finance to SMEs globally continues to be problematic, with banks only willing or able to provide finance in large loan sizes on very straightforward credit terms or to smaller companies with impeccable credit, presenting the alternative finance market with multiple opportunities”. With the prospective dividend yield now more than 9.5%, we remain positive on this Income play, ahead of interim results scheduled for next week, at 51.5p this is a buy. - See more at: http://*********************/views/15221/gli-finance-launches-closed-end-fund-shares-are-a-buy-yield-95#sthash.FfX69gvx.dpuf
Just bought back in the 19k is my buy and theres another 90k which they have delayed , which will show at 9.03am
Don't take too much notice of all those RED trades - one of them is definitely mine and it was a PURCHASE.
TW has just updated his tip on GLI and Simon Thomson likes this share, so I have topped up before the interims but on H/L it has appeared as a sell, anyway, it looks good for next week.
Glad to see I am not completely talking to myself here. Interims due on the 28th according to my diary.
just waiting for the divi "payout Friday" At the moment can't see anything wrong with this company. yield nearly 10%. fill ye booits
Two RNSs out since last post and no comment on here. Everyone asleep?
Out yesterday for those that missed it. Interims due 28th Sept. Optimistic sounding general update.
....on the significance of today RNS?
"All of our platforms are performing well"......wow just wow
thanks-I'm from the US-who do I need to open an account with?
Well, I suppose Sampson this is like any share . You can short it !
Is it possible to short this stock?
A couple of decent ones this am.
The premium is reducing but that is no bad thing. I try and think of GLIF more like a defnesive stock with a strong dividend yield within my portfolio. But if some among its multiple paltform investments come good, it could start behaving as a growth stock, and I'd see that as a bonus rather than 'as expected'
Just did a dummy purchase and got quoted 53p so I think buys are being reported as sells, which seems to happen a lot, but is obviously unhelpful as it gives entirely the wrong message.
Slightly nervous about the recent SP weakness but decided to top up this morning.
GLI invest in a stake in Funding Options Ltd.
From the Annual Results Report: "The proceeds of sale of the Company's holding in FOIF was used to reduce the level of our loan facility, and the term of the remaining amount of GBP13.525m has been extended to 15 June 2015."
