No complaints for me here. GH and CB have played a stunner up to now. No reason to believe they won’t carry on playing it. Shame more doesn't go into sticky hands. Only a matter of time.
Fair point Bellers. With SXX it was always a concern as to where the money was going to come from to develop the underground mining and transport system and port area. Fortunately I only traded the share and walked away with a small profit. I know a lot of PI's lost a lot of money. I am a LTH here as it would seem all aspects including on going finance are covered....as much as they can be. For me it is as de-risked as an AIM share can be. Hopefully NOT famous last words!!
Do you think the £33 million buy is whinging?
How much are they down!!
Kempey, not a deramp but be careful saying the big boys are in and they don’t take a loss. They take a loss much better than we do as they never commit a high percentage of their total wealth. E.g Norwegian wealth took 2.8 % of sxx at 15p a share. Got 5P a share at the end of the takeover and just walked away. They still have over a trillion pounds left in their investment portfolio. They did due dilly and must have been confident. It’s all part of the markets.:-(

Anything's possible in such a senario (should it happen).
Callum to head up GGP and Gervaise to head up Newcrest (under Rio's ownership)?
Who knows (and that's assuming that Rio win a possible bidding war with Barrick)?
Whatever transpires I'm confident were gonna be far more wealthy LT than we are today!
@GoldenI
If you look closely you can see another white line snaking it's way through Scallywag also. That is the current access track and the proposed road follows that pretty much exactly until it gets up to near the NW corner where SCAL001 is shown.
I guess this route would be the easiest geographically as the sand-dunes also run in that direction - helpful that it would be passing by other potential deposits though (winking face emoji)
MattyBoy1965
Would GH andCB be offered a seat on the RIO board if that happened
Paddy
Interesting that proposed road skirts the OUTER edges of London and Kraken.
Do we think that is simply the best route for the topography, or convenient for GGPs other sites, or maybe just prevention of causing an upset - not going through the likely centres?
In any event, I guess the road could be re-routed at a later date if necessary.
Not only that Paddy all the signs are there that Newcrest are going to mine and Haverion is one of their main targets with a) the amount of gold indicated so far and b) the Telfer processing plant being so near. Jobs are all being advertised for and the camp developed to accommodate the workers. NC are not going to walk away.
Regarding Rio and Biswas, his name must be in the frame ((probably one of the favourites) and if he were to takeover at Rio, Newcrest must be a target for an acquisition in due course given he knows it so well. Others will certainly will be interested in the NC assets.
Finally for those concerned at the slight drop in price they should remember that 121m shares were bought by a banks at 27p and other large buys most likely II's went through at the same price. They will not expect to make a loss!
Cage, Yes I have seen this also. Cant remember who had researched it though.
Nice one T , back on form .
Just been thinking about it, didn't I read on one of the GDXJ threads recently that historically, we are experiencing exactly what most new positions do directly after being acquired? A drop, and then a slow recovery back up to or over the pre buy SP?
I don't know what thread it was on and I'm not going to look.
Personally down £100k since Mondays 27p open!
Am I bothered? Nah!!
We all know where this is going and having been invested here for over 6 years now, I have learned to no longer get spooked by any of the games the spivs play!
Fundamentals remain the same, and you can't unfind gold!
On a completely different note though, and just a thought, what if Sandeep Biswas was to accept the top job at Rio (as it has been rumoured he may be 'in the frame' for)?
Bearing in mind his full knowledge of the workings of Newcrest and exactly what is going on with Havieron, not to mention Rio's (extremely) deep pockets (and Deutsche Banks' previous advice to Rio to diversify from just Copper) would it not be possible that Rio under his stewardship may just choose to buy out Newcrest (and GGP?) entirely at some point in the future?
Were that to become a reality, would the likes of Barrick (or any other mining major) just sit by and let them?
As I said, just a thought but hey WTFDIK?
@Rup
I intend being here for a while yet mate - a lot to look forward to.
- Broker Updates
- Scallywag AEM survey results
- Initial Scallywag results
- Next quarterly results from Newcrest
- MRE before the end of the calendar year
etc, etc.
I have done a little screenshot of the latest lay of the land with the most recent drill pad at London and the route of the proposed haul road on it here.

Tom :-)))
Agree thought it would be closer to the GDXJ 27p buys on Friday....
But historically GGP can rise at unexpectant times and has yet to disappoint
When Paddy stops posting you know we're stuffed... getting some work done !!
Wasn’t that long ago we never thought we would break through 10p but now people are whinging when it drops back to 22p.
I understand a lot of people bought in within last few weeks but those of us that have been here a while (just under 3yrs for me), know that with time and patience, comes reward.
Sit back, stoke up a fat one and wait for the bigger rewards.
Me too Tom. 50k more shares at 22.3p...lovely
San
Well I am pretty certain some Scallywag has not stolen all the gold so good opportunity to buy some more. I did think it would be over 30p this week so one should never refuse a good opportunity.
While the arguing is going on thankyou MM's just had a top up too.
