anyone know what time to expect the update?
Greenmile, last time i stayed up to read it, then couldnt sleep till 4.40am because i was buzzing. Im expecting tonight to be similar, so I’ll pop a movie on and be waiting...... perhaps “Wall St” for a bit of Gekko
Also most mid-tiers would need to complete the full bankable feasibility study in order to raise the CAPEX needed to fund a mine like this - the beauty of having a major like Newcrest is that they will be able to fund the development from FCF.
Speed is of the essence here for them - they know the time it will take to get to the good stuff - they will have a good idea of where they are as regards ore life at Telfer (although a rising gold price may give them more leeway) ergo they have a fair idea of where they need to be in regards to planning and execution of that plan.

whos staying up tonight then??
Agreed Grizzle - the pre-feasibility stage here could easily include for an exploration decline to be sunk to allow the infill drilling to be conducted from UG - I think NCM criteria for Tier1 is slightly higher than that - they say >300 koz for minimum of 15 years - so that's 4.5Moz
Cheers Grizzle,
UR
Hi Stuart,
Cheers for response. Yeah I agree; it’s that HAD 28 that I can’t wait to see.
Last update I was excited; today I am nervous but in a good way.
UR
Thanks Paddy... Yup, he clearly states Maiden in 6-8 months.
UR... Interesting. I have some stuff in Canada and believe 2-3m oz was about target for Tier 1. The point is, generally, majors don't wait until full Mineral Resource estimate before development project kicks off for real..
My question is still :-
If they have now found the edge's do we have enough "NOW" to mine as I am sure what we already have the answer must be yes. ?????? If they are still stepping out and finding more that's just a big bonus to say the least. :-))))))
Hi Grizzle,
Interested re figures. I invested in a co that declared Maiden at 600,000 ozs. They have since published amended (NI 43-101 rather than Jorc as Canadian) estimates as additional infill has been carried out .(inferred to indicated etc etc)
Hi all,
Don’t trade you will regret it! - sit on those twitchy fingers, I am!! IMO
Waiting can be painful but it will pay for itself!
Cheers
Stout
It's all here in the interview from last Thursday - listen from 1.15 mins in.

Yes absolutely UR,I didn’t actually remember that detail, thank you, just gut feeling is we haven’t found the edges and it will be in their next quarterly report that we can hope for initial MRE,of course if I’m wrong and we get one tonight,it just starts the fireworks a little earlier!:)
Had 23 and had 28,both partials remember!! Excited to see how those two huge step outs finish off!
GLA.
They can declare a Maiden RE at around 3m ozs and that would be in line with most majors at early stage evaluation.. They will not be phased with waiting for full MRE before kicking off planning and considering capex/engineering/logistics for incline shaft etc.. So I expect to see a Maiden figure published this quarter or early next Imo..
Hi Stuart,
This was brought up the other day and I started to research MRE. In the main, it is understood to be Mineral Resource Estimate however GH (in the 6-9 months RNS) refers to Maiden Resource Estimate. As such, this particular MRE can be declared before full extent is known. Only stipulation is that the figures arrived at are in line with JORC guidelines . In other words the infill drilling used to arrive at the Maiden (or initial estimate ) are to the satisfaction of the Competent Person.
If, therefore, we get the MRE within timeframe and edges have still not been found, well, need I say more.
Stuart, please accept my deepest apols if you were aware of all this; it is just that I wasn’t so read up on it.
Good luck for tonight. UR
If you know your know ;)
They said 6-9m for mre merc, from the horses mouth end of last year and repeated by GH,personally hoping it’s longer than that as you know what that will mean!:)
Mm want ure shares hold on chaps ggp about to blow boooom
It would be nice if Newcrest give a rough timeline on Infill drilling, MRE and PFS, they must know roughly when they are going to happen, unless they still haven’t found the edge.
