Where did you get this info?
Doesn't appear to be much interest, Only 500k shares traded.
Flying now!!! SURELY PEOPLE HAVE SPOTTED THIS
Agree massively overlooked so far!! Great RNS little acknowledgement makes happy Gordon, in before the herd.
Interesting to compare today's announcement with that of Ilika's on 6th December, which said;
"This is a significant milestone as it means that the Goliath solid state pouch cell is now able to match the representative energy density of incumbent lithium-ion pouch cells, achieving an effective energy density of 250 Wh/kg and a capacity of 0.715 Ah."
Vs the RNS today;
"Gelion has achieved a high energy density milestone by fabricating a 395 Wh/kg lithium-sulfur 9.5 Ah pouch cell (commercial cell format). This result represents a c. 60% increase in the energy density (lower weight) compared with current lithium-ion batteries (approximately 250 Wh/kg)."
Ilika ran to £80m market cap on that news, GELN currently sits at £28m (and vs the £154m it IPO'd at a couple of years ago...)
Could easily run back to 50p here IMO.
Directors clearly knew what the future looked like for their product back in December when they ploughed in big style.
Oft wish I bought more than a grands worth this looks set to go with no one even spotting it yet!!
60% More power then current lithium batteries and less charging time for customer then the current lithium batteries.
Cheaper cost to produce then current lithium batteries.
Weight less the current lithium batteries.
More Safer then current lithium batteries.
Watch this space the Big Tech Companies will be all over this BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM.
'Well they have approximately one years cash flow in the bank'
Yes, but... That will be from the date of the accounts, so nearly 3 months ago. And, the company needs a cash buffer and time to arrange a placing (if required), so I would expect they need around £2m on hand when they arrange a placing. They had £7.5m on hand at year-end and were spending around £600k a month on operating expenses.
I expect a placing in October if things continue at the same pace; 3rd party commercial agreements could provide some cash upfront, but equally might require increased investment by the company. I think this statement from the CEO indicates the likelihood of a placing:
'We acknowledge that we still have a journey ahead before we convert the intrinsic value to commercial reward and we aim to achieve this with our technologies by establishing key relationships with strategic partners that will benefit from the transformation.'
Well they have approximately one years cash flow in the bank, so the CEO had better start signing some commercial agreements pretty soon to fund the technology roadmap.
The share price has already fallen 40% from the last placing, so I doubt there will be much appetite from the market to provide further funding, let alone us poor sods who are 90% down from the IPO!
Interims show a pretty reasonable position for tech development company.
Sound policy of restraint from leaders and a growing tech portfolio on the road to monetisation.
Fingers crossed for the first deal.
