Lucky us then, always look on the bright side of life (apart from the power cuts and lack of indigenous energy). It also helps when you short or trade.
Agree, and we dont need the hassle. Can you imagine, high court injunctions, protesters etc. Not worth it.
Hopefully Biscathorpe next, that will upset enough people on its own.
Hi Darton. The re-imposition of fracking ban / moratorium might not be the worst thing that could have happened to us. IMO we have far too many shale gas licences on which money could be spent by Egdon without seeing a return for many years. Maybe they will now concentrate their energies and their Wressle cash on those of their licences which contain conventional O&G prpspects. These could still produce a decent return in under 5 years if exploration and or appraisal drilling is successful there,
I have bought more today and yesterday. I think the shares are under valued based on producing assets and likely cash.
Whoops! I should have said that I've just topped up again with a decent chunk of Egdon shares.
Hi Tonno1944. No cold water from me this time, but have you looked at the separate elements which make up Gaffney Cline's production profile for Wressle ? But even so, based mainly on the oil price outlook, I've just topped up again with a decent chunk of EOG shares. All the best, GP.
"Total capitulation to the Putin anti fracking lobby, " which seems to include a lot of Tory MP's and even more Tory Councillors
Overreaction by the market - although EDR hold a lot of acreage that would benefit from fracking, .the current business is purely conventional. In fact EDR have never participated in any fracked well IIRC
Time to move on
Total capitulation to the Putin anti fracking lobby, do they also vote conservative , what an upside down world we live in.
Not often agree with sir wishy washy but i do agree that the PM is weak. Hope the anti frackers don't get stuck in a lift or are without power during a cold snap with the proposed power cuts, not to worry they will be able to burn their brown envelopes.
Honestly great news today. EDR should focus on Wressle and Biscathorpe, get the revenue pouring in and look for a bigger conventional project. Hope we get some good news regarding gas processing or Biscathorpe very soon, I think 4p will look cheap after either of those items. Not sorry Fracking has been banned, lets build a business we can hold our heads high about. No way will Sunak or Schapps want Fracking, the Tories are toxic enough already.
Although the headline message is a ban on fracking, Rishi Sunak has stated Tory policy will be strictly in line with the 2019 manifesto.
This states that fracking will not be allowed unless it can be proven to be completely safe.
What about nuclear fission, obviously the science must say that the controlled nuclear bomb is safe -ask the Japanese (Fucushima),Americans(three mile island) and Ukrainians(Chernobyl)-completely unblemished then?.I suppose thats nothing compared to them catastrophic micro earthquakes and brown envelopes.
Thanks Dartron. I agree. With UJO boasting every month about their $1m monthly revenue from Wressle (=$750K to EDR),which is at least GBP £600K per month, equals a very nice £7.2 million each year. And kindly guaranteed for at least 5 years by Gaffney thingy, which is, over a mere 5 years, a cool £36 million! More than TWICE today's entire Market Cap. Plus we know there is a lot more activity of all kinds to come. Makes you think that the whole fracking business was a red herring anyway.
I hope Grey P doesn't pour too much cold water on my 'fag packet' figures.
No message. Seen it a few times on BB's.
Dont know why he posted it twice in scary caps lock.
I'm pretty chuffed with my top ups today, 15M mcap is 2x revenue from Wressle in less than 12 months.
What does NM mean?
Not sure how much I believe the articles coming out. The 2019 Conservative Party manifesto said: "We will not support fracking unless the science shows categorically that it can be done safely."
Hasn't that been the whole point that it is safe ??
Also them voting all the other say with rishi voting against it being banned.
Great time to top up before results!
Agree re. Shapps : any which way the wind blows .. and the £ flows ! One to watch.
"Grant Shapps to Business & Energy - a slippery weasel, no doubt 'open to persuasion' on fracking. "
hmm he's swung both ways on fracking before - the most untrustworthy of all the Cabinet TBH
Cheers Grey panther. I'll look that up and see whats happening/happened. 12 years ago was quite a bit before my time, so thanks again for the history.
Update : Grant Shapps to Business & Energy - a slippery weasel, no doubt 'open to persuasion' on fracking. Interestingly, Therese Coffey to Environment - very much in the pro fracking camp : she (and Mogg) literally manhandled some of her wavering Tory colleagues into voting 'yes' in last week's commons vote.
Egdon Acquired EnCore's Assets in July 2010. Here's the quote: "The package of assets acquired comprise of EnCore's entire interest in nine onshore UK licenses and an interest in the Ceres gas field in the Southern North Sea. As consideration for the Acquisition, Egdon has issued 39,200,000 Ordinary Shares ("the Consideration Shares") to EnCore, which (then) represented 29.998 per cent. of the enlarged share capital of the Company. Application has been made for admission of the Consideration Shares to trading on AIM, which is expected to become effective on 29 July 2010. The total number of Egdon Ordinary Shares in issue on admission (was then) 130,675,774."
Mogg was never going to get anything done. He has made a career of not getting anything done.
Lets hope he is consigned to the back benches, then loses his seat in the next election.
Mark Harper would be a good replacement for Mogg at Business / Energy - pro fracking & a close political ally of Sunak who was, himself, very much in favour of fracking / UK energy independence, during the leadership contest.
