The masks are a prelude to bigger things. The access DCTA has to labs is second to none. Do not underestimate how difficult it is to get (level 3) lab time to test with live SARS-COV-2 virus. Remember sars is the virus covid 19 is the disease, sars has many strains.
The bigger picture here is the aerosolisation of the virus and the ability of DCTA tech to take virus out of the atmosphere with its filtration system.
The aerosoling has been understated since January. Govts are only just coming around to it. It’s why we have to wear masks. It’s probably the most understated transmission factor.
Dcta are looking to put their tech into aircon units, think aeroplanes, supermarkets, cruise ships, gyms. Think duty of care. It could eventually become law to have this tech. We are proving and patenting it.
Testing will obviously help but even gold plated PCR swab testing whilst 100% accurate on test is 30% off because users don’t take the correct swabs
References.
Aerosoling..
‘The case studies that have come out in different countries have, with prima facie evidence, manifested that the airborne transmission plays a profound role in contracting susceptible hosts. The infection propensities in confined spaces (airplane, passenger car, and healthcare center) by the transmission of droplets and aerosols under varying ventilation conditions were discussed.’
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7293495/
PCR swab...
“The test is a swab of your nose and throat undertaken at one of the Trust testing sites. The test is not 100% accurate; at present it is thought to detect approximately 70% of coronavirusi infections..”
https://www.ouh.nhs.uk/working-for-us/staff/documents/staff-testing-privacy-statement.pd
From university of Oxford March 2020. Not updated since then...
‘The only current COVID-19 specific data comparing OP with NP comes from two low quality, non-peer-reviewed studies and should be viewed with caution. It is not possible to accurately assess sensitivity from the existing data and there are no data to assess the diagnostic impact of combining both tests.’
https://www.cebm.net/covid-19/comparative-accuracy-of-oropharyngeal-and-nasopharyngeal-swabs-for-diagnosis-of-covid-19/
So the point is whilst testing will help, masks will help, social distancing can’t go on forever, lockdowns aren’t economically feasible so it leads to technology as being the solution.
I have been invested here for probably 3 years now. It’s just a factor of investing that you can be ahead of the market and the sp will do nothing then in one or two sessions it rockets and if you are out you miss the biggest gains. I sat in DDDD, TXP, ORPH as just a few examples for what seemed like ages, now they have had the news and the sp has gone up significantly I seldom post there. There’s little point!
I am convinced that with all the shots on goal Dcta has our time will come and we can watch from a distance!

" The findings presented here support the further development of integration of graphene,
specifically hydrophobic G, into face mask materials. Face mask use, now encouraged throughout
the world where COVID-19 is present, has the potential to reduce viral transmissibility, preserve
healthcare capacity, and prevent a second wave of infections (37). "
Happy to hold, of course ??

University of Rome: graphene fabrics block Covid-19
Coronavirus emergency.
Graphene fabrics have antiviral properties, and specifically they are able to block SARS-Cov-2, the virus responsible for the Covid-19 pandemic. This is confirmed by a research conducted by a team of the Department of Neuroscience of the Catholic University of Rome, in collaboration with the Gemelli Polyclinic.
graphene, Covid-19
Among the characteristics of graphene , its possible anti-viral power has attracted particular interest in the last period: a research conducted by a team of the Department of Neuroscience of the Catholic University of Rome led by Prof. Massimiliano Papi, in collaboration with the Policlinico Gemelli of Rome , has just confirmed that graphene G +, produced by the Italian company Directa Plus , not only has antiviral properties, but also manages to stop the feared SARS-CoV-2 , the coronavirus responsible for the current pandemic.
Tests conducted by Prof. Papi's team, the details of which have just been published in a paper available on MedRxiv, show that graphene G + is able to improve the filtering properties of tissues and almost completely inhibit the incidence of SARS-CoV-2. , thus helping to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in an extremely effective way. “The results of the tests carried out confirm the ability of graphene to block SARS-CoV-2 . The virus is actually trapped in the graphene-functionalized tissue and inactivated, thus preventing contagion ” , explains Prof. Papi.
"This is excellent news for the protection of people's health, which confirms the insights of our working group - comments Giulio Cesareo , founder and CEO of Directa Plus - and gives even more value to the project we started in the months of lockdown and completed last June with the creation of a range of graphene protective masks . Today we have confirmation that our G + Co-Masks, made with graphene-functionalized fabrics and filters, are able not only to guarantee passive protection, minimizing the dispersion of droplets , but also active protection, blocking SARS-CoV-2when the virus comes into contact with the mask. I believe that this discovery could open up further significant possibilities of use for graphene fabrics and filters ” .
Covgaz,
In part I share your frustration. There seems nothing but good news but the sp never moves much. However, I think the company is progressing and building a good business. On thinking about it I’d rather a steady progress than the volatility of some of the competitors which seems prompted by rumours or even the over analysis of a CEO‘s comments. It’s not going to be quick but I think it will grow in time and I’m to hold and slowly add
It's also about making people aware(companies/individual investors), most aren't, hence the very quiet board here. Last weeks CG interview had him commenting about advertising in the UK will be obvious to see.
from N+1 Singer last week
"Underlying progress was constrained by COVID, but the Group rose to the challenge, exemplified by the launch of the G+ enhanced Co-Mask (orders of 400k Euros received to date). Good commercial progress has also been made with Gipave during the period, with three installations now in place. In our view, Directs is well positioned to deliver strong growth over the medium term as awareness of the performance and value of its technology continues to build"
covgaz,
Q8 had over 4,400 service stations. Once they are happy that it works, as has been the case everywhere so far, then the sales will come in from them. Like Kent CC, who said they'de potentially rollout countywide. Same as Oxfordshire, Italy, etc, one would assume. The hockey stick curve as Trek mentioned ;-)
Register, download and read the Cenkos report from https://www.cenkos.com/research-portal#/portal/cenkos-securities
They have visibility on actual sales of Gipave(although have discounted this until announced) and have a forward cashflow shown for 20,21 and 22. Plus obviously other sales(masks, etc)
"The most significant revenue line in this business is the potential for Gipave asphalt with
Iterchimica. Gipave has been proven to significantly increase durability over multiple real-world
trials leading to the first commercial order for the surface of the new San Giorgio bridge. With
double-digit kilos of graphene likely needed per kilometre of road, this business has the
potential for very significant volumes. We believe there is some visibility into projects through
Iterchimica which would see around a tenfold increase in use in FY21 and a further doubling in
FY22. Our expectations significantly discount that leaving most of Gipave opportunities, as well
as other composite applications, as upside in our forecasts"
It must just be me as nobody else here has an opinion other than one or two a while ago re numbers This has been in the same range now for two years. There are no new sales. The news is pretty basic and has no impact whatsoever on the SP when it gets delivered. Weren't the masks supposed to the driver here short term.....if it wasn't for the parent country , i.e. Italy , maybe nothing would be happening at all. C'mon , discuss....
All looks good in writing , SP still in decline. I would have thought the bridge completion would have had some impact re Gipave but nadda , not good. This share is becoming a big disappointment in my portfolio. Even if it stayed steady I could be happy and wait for the good news , but it would seem people are losing patience with it and taking the small monies invested to buy more lucrative stocks. I do intend to hold but jeez what a boring hold.
The works involved the flooring of the new service station for a total area of ??2,000 m2 and involved the use of graphene-based supermodifier for the binder (7 cm) and wear (3 cm) layers. The production and laying of the bituminous conglomerates were carried out by the Roman company As Appalti Stradali, the contractor. For this single service area it was possible to recover 1 t of recycled plastics otherwise destined for waste-to-energy. Thanks to the lack of incineration, a saving of about 82 kg of CO2eq was therefore estimated. Furthermore, the increase in the useful life of the pavement with Gipave, compared to one with bitumen as it is, will allow a further reduction of CO2eq emissions by up to 70%.

Thanks to a high-tech additive based on made in Italy technology, the flooring will be more durable, safe and eco-sustainable
(Rinnovabili.it) - Graphene asphalt continues to make its way to Rome. After the tests at Fiumicino airport , the innovative blend paved the 2,000 square meters of the Q8 service station, inaugurated today on Via Ardeatina. A world first that is identified with a very specific name: Gipave .
Gipave is the supermodifier based on graphene and "hard" plastics (those that are not normally included in the recycling chain) developed by Iterchimica . From 2018 to date this patented technology has been used in ten test fields both in Italy and abroad. And it is the same that the company donated for the 1,067-meter-long road surface of the new Genoa San Giorgio bridge.
What is special about the new graphene asphalt? All the tests carried out so far by universities and certified laboratories have confirmed excellent results in terms of the performance of the blend. The data on the road validate the increase in resistance to load cycles and the ability to withstand thermal excursions, demonstrating that the technology used allows to improve the parameters relating to the rutting (defect connected to areas stressed by frequent passages of high loads). The greater resistance therefore allows to obtain floors that last longer than those traditionally built.
At the heart of innovation is the circular economy . Gipave contains, in fact, G + Graphene Plus , a specific type of specially selected recycled plastic and a functional base studied by Iterchimica. This recipe allows the asphalt to be 100% recycled in subsequent production cycles , saving raw materials and reducing CO 2 emissions .
"Gipave - reads the press release - is the result of a three-year research conducted by Iterchimica in collaboration with the University of Milan-Bicocca, G.Eco (A2A group) and Directa Plus. The graphene used comes from by the Directa Plus company listed on AIM in London, while the G.Eco company supplied the hard plastic component. The University of Milan Bicocca instead took care of the entire environmental analysis (LCA - Life Cycle Assessment) ".
To pave the Q8 service area, 1 ton of plastics was recovered otherwise destined for waste-to-energy. " Having shared with Q8 this test that uses our Gipave technology to create the first graphene service station fills us with pride - commented Federica Giannattasio, CEO of Iterchimica - To evaluate the effectiveness of pavements made with asphalt containing the graphene additive we have already carried out ten test fields in Italy and in the United Kingdom, obtaining excellent results. It is a technology entirely made in Italy that allows to create high-tech, green and highly resistant flooring with economic savings and a reduction of CO 2 in the atmosphere ".

It's a tad depressing we always seem to be on the back foot , in the red. We need some good sales here to boost this into the 90's at least , fed up being stuck in the same range for what....nearly a year barring the covid dip into the 50's. Come on DC.....
Cenkos "We believe sales are already averaging over €50k/month"
Cenkos Page 39 - CO-Mask revenue €0.33m
RNS "Orders received to date with a value of over EUR400,000"
Already exceeds Cenkos numbers of EUR 330,000 for the whole of 2020
Unloved? But PSS loves us!
“Material upside Directa Plus is a commercially proven graphene supplier with a unique production process that creates high quality materials that are already used in a wide array of products internationally across multiple verticals. We expect the company to reach EBITDA positive in FY22 with existing cash reserves, leaving material upside in our expectations from some of its recently developed products such as the Co-Mask and Gipave. We see Directa Plus as an underappreciated, undervalued and more mature and lower risk play in the UK listed graphene and speciality nanomaterials space and initiate with a Buy recommendation and 122p target price. “

Masks proven against Covid-19. Not many companies have been able to get lab access to prove products against a live virus.
“Face masks Directa Plus is based in Lomazzo, Lombardy, Northern Italy, which was one of the first regions in Europe to be hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic. It was therefore also one of the first regions to mandate the wearing of face masks and the Directa Plus management quickly saw the opportunity to use its technology to improve the performance of face masks not just in terms of the thermal performance and comfort, but also enhanced medical properties: antibacterial and anti-viral, the latter of which has now been proven specifically with SARS-CoV2. We believe sales are already averaging over €50k/month, but as the Co-Mask is unique in that it has proven anti-viral performance with COVID-19, designed to be lower cost than alternatives for regular use, and is customisable (logos and images can be printed on the outer fabric), the company should be in a position to secure significant orders from large organisations in due course. These are left as upside in our model but could completely be transformative for the company over the next year. ”
Also it’s upside risk not in 122p buy note. Page 22

Agreed, but I think you know the point I was making.
Apologies, having a mare... "It's definitely real Graphene Nanoplatelets <3nm and < 6-8 layers as certified in today's announcement publication"
Not sure why the ? got posted - "It's definitely real Graphene Nanoplatelets <3nm and < 6-8 laters"
crues123,
It's definitely real Graphene Nanoplatelets <3nm and ?
Another well discussed UK graphene company, which is also certified by the same ISO standard, has lower numbers 90% <=10 layers, 60% <=5 layers, 10% >10 layers
"The patented process that is used to manufacture Nanene produces high quality graphene nano-platelets with a majority of sub 10 layers and a significant number of sub 5 layers material. "
A big enough market for everyone.
Prices now €45(+22%) and €40(33%)depending on model, up from €35 and €30
Must be in demand!
The kids model prices are still the same for sept "The launch price for kids will be available all September"
Can't find the link to the test though. "For more information on certifications and test link in bio "
Fair do's guys , thanks for your thoughts.
I think Itsyou has answered the point on funding and outlook of new business in a separate post.
This for me is a long term investment. I’ve a small shareholding and top up each month. I don’t think it will move much until some real numbers are confirmed. There are too many people promising big in graphene and not delivering. However, I’m happy with the news that is coming from this company and how they seem to be progressing with real orders rather than just collobarations. No doubt someone will tell me it’s not real graphene, but I don’t care as long as they sell it for more than it costs them to make
