21st November 2023 - 'Those holding shares via investment platforms will be contacted directly by the relevant investment platform.'
Helx2, why would a broker agree to release a client’s private email to some private overseas company that asks for it? - if the shares are not held by the broker as nominee, it’s nothing to do with them, and they are obliged to protect confidential client personal data.
That to me is the only plus point for shareholders in this mess. the fact that he is on about a dividend as way of payment. on the other hand he likes getting creative. no payment or payment. it is all over before xmas. as said how would everyone get paid by xmas because of all the checks, etc that have to be made. it is why 1884 invester posts total bull. he makes it look like everything would be sorted in a day. mental.
14:21, inclined to agree.
My broker has my email - pretty easy for the agent to contact them & for them to contact me - most will be in this boat I imagine.
Keep on angrily shaking your sticks - boy amit sure keeps making you non-holders angry! - why oh why could that be i wonder? it's not like any of you have tired to actually be supportive to genuine holders.
you have a mountain of cash to pay back & you're stressing & venting on here because it's all you can do.
1984investor, cloudtag would have pis’ emails if they bought extra shares directly from amit post de-list, and shouldn’t be hard for cloudtag /secret agent to work out how to contact major investment platforms.
but no clear mechanism why cloudtag would have emails for particular pis who used to have nominee holdings in platforms but then chose or were forced by the platforms to accept a certificate instead.
… not to mention, of course, people who may have changed emails over the years …
Spikey, he's only mentioned it in order to buy him time and making everything sound legit.
Coed, if there is any payment, key issue would be how HMRC choose to treat it (rather than what amit says he believes to be the case). it’s an issue that gets discussed from time to time on glencore board, since glencore ‘dividends’ have historically tended to be treated as capital returns rather than divis per se, but recently HMRC has been challenging that in certain situations.
If there genuinely was money in an escrow account, the money still belongs to the purchaser at this stage, and any interest payable would not accrue to any agent ( … not that most escrow accounts would be paying interest to anyone anyway …)
again, if the agents only have a small, trivial, quick piece of work to do, why did amit give them 4-5 weeks to do it?
I know you're slow because I've told you multiple times before but I have never shorted and never will simply because it's immoral.
“… are reminded to seek appropriate tax and legal advice.”
- so if the secret agent starts contact on 18/12, and the money is meant to be in pi’s bank accounts by 22/12, that doesn’t leave that much time to seek relevant “tax & legal advice”, given the current paucity of info about where /who / how the supposed payment is coming from. he does like to keep peeps on their toes, that amit fellah.
Getting worried yet Antha & Dags? payback of that open short is gonna be a real pain in the bum bum. At least you'll have a little time to recover funds between the licencing agreement payment & the daap sale payment.
Doing a double act with Mr Selfridge as far as I recall Antha. Then there was Liam’s blog here - blinded to any reality. I was always wary here (and no knowledge of or interest in wearable tech). Went with the momentum here and made the right decision to cash out before delist as far as I’m concerned. (Although if there is a payout I’ll temper that with ‘Right decision - wrong outcome’.
When I bought my off book shares I was asked to email a guy at cloudtag to confirm. So they have my email address. Surely everybody else went through that same process
And if you’re via a broker, they will contact you anyway. No drama. Like I said, they’ve been sat on three weeks interest for what is a trivial task
Solicitors do the same intraday on house purchases to bank interest
When the share certificates were originally sent out they were posted so there would be a record of shareholders addresses somewhere (Compuserve ?) BUT good old Amit want's to make things as difficult as possible by only wanting to use email addresses which the Agent doesn't have AND Amit refuses to name the Agent so a Catch 22 stalemate.
In this situation Nominee account holders should get paid first however if they don't hear anything then you'll know it's all BS.
What is it now 14 updates and still no payment, is this a UK record?
"It was actually the heavy cross over from the 88e board in summer 2016 that brought me to Ctag (along with quite a few others)" lol you mean everyone followed the king ramper Aberdeenman.
That is the point of knowing who the agents are so you can forward email address. but again no mention of who the agents are.
I’m happy for you Ric. You will go down the history pages as ultimate winner!
He is getting creative is old amit in his pipe and slipper days. again no real hard evidence. and again week starting from the 18th december which just by chance takes it up to xmas. it is still unlikely to happen in my opinion. one thing this is the end.
Conrad ….. exactly they don’t have my email address nor that of several others I’ve spoken too
It means the payment would be classed as income[ dividend] and not capital gain. so no capital gains tax to pay. however tax to be paid on dividend as income. so from 18th december. lol.
Coed …. Basically subject to dividend tax not capital gains
My only concern with this is, how do they know our email addresses
It looks like you were right. Thanks for not buying my shares from me. I needed to be saved from myself.
