Worked for these for 20yrs , they were a good company to work for but they have lost there way. Most of the best staff have left including fitters. Can they turn it round ,to be honest it's not looking good .
Noticeable that no figure given for negative YOY figures, if it was a low single figure sure we would have had more info. I am hearing that sales are down around 20% on last year which was a poor year too. Need a huge pull around now in the busiest period for them to turn the corner which by my sources is not happening. Probably just bowl along now till figures released in December
Well that was all a bit of a non event.... Any views out there??
Thanks i saw WW brought not sure how much he earns from year?? He spent £40k recent so wonder if this is bluff to market knowing that we will make it all back in salary.
check vacancies on website during busiest period over 130 in stores, you do the math.
Expecting negative L4L, more losses blamed on CVA, publicity etc. Lots of positive spin around new store layouts and product category growth and ready to take advantage etc.
From what I hear from people still there this is not the case, few bright spots but overall poor, you know what they say there are statistics, statistics and damn l**s.
Tapi grew out of Carpetright,Tapi new the staff and stores worth taking.its not the first time this company has done this, going all the way back to Queensway.
Whitelines What are you expecting tomorrow? . I read an interesting article on competition between carp. And is tapi i think??? All sounds a bit personal and tapi has some heavyweight industry backers.
I dont have a holding but have been following. Pretty sure the news is due wednesday morning and will be a first real update since the shop closures etc. So interesting to see if progress made. Retail a tough game at the moment and then throw in a bit of market selling at as you rightly say back down. See what the update brings plus i as saw that wilf made a decent buy recently.
where's the 40p nosugar, think single figures likely after next weeks update, just need to cut through the BS that we will be fed and find the facts.
40p next week???? 15p i say not. Should be an interesting week.
Looks like it will hit 15p before the next update - single figures coming?
I do hope the public are using credit cards, there are still some risking it.
If the truth ever comes out 🙀
Also a recent ex-employee, agree with outlander and can add that they are no good as Retailers either, some of the appointments are laughable, can only see one outcome, going, going, gone.
As an ex employee I can say that the people in charge of this company have no experience in flooring.
They laughed when Phil Harris left to setup another flooring company, well their not laughing now with the share price at rock bottom and Phil with over a hundred stores and counting.
This will be 15p on the next update.
Year ending April loss 70 million loss against 900000 profit year before.does not look like a buy to me.
Sorry about that I was thinking it's down as 2 sept. going blind in my old age.
Good to see you post 2 days ahead 2 nd Aug !!!!!
So we are almost at the rights price of 28p, will it now go any lower following these results.
The House of Fraser ,comes to mind. which greedy landlords are going to keep cutting rents, i agree some rent is better than none, but how long before thier figures are suffering.Large out of town stores are a liability. Cant see a future myself.
So Meditor Capital Management Limited now hold 29.99%, does that mean we could see a takeover offer within days now that they have raised enough money to carry on. This could be a great buy at what say 50p ? any thoughts.
So that's the open offer done with at approx 214m shares, So when now is the consolidation x 10 coming? 10x 28p ish = 2.80 but I bet we only see 1.50 - 2.00 on share price.
yes you are right oldtimer , If the Resolutions are passed and the other conditions to the Placing and Open Offer are satisfied, it is expected that dealings in the New Ordinary Shares will commence at 8.00 a.m. on 8 June 2018.
