Mathew Wilson, CEO and Director of Sterling, commented, “We are excited to complete the acquisition of Copper Road, adding a complementary and compelling project to our growing Canadian exploration portfolio. The timing of Transaction represents a significant opportunity for existing and new shareholders of Sterling, as we enter a new copper supercycle, largely the product of years of underinvestment and lack of discoveries. As we look ahead, we are excited to begin our Phase I exploration program in the coming weeks. Our exploration team as been diligently gathering historical and current data and we look forward to providing plans with the aim of making important discoveries in eastern Canada.”

Relieved to see the cash balance still healthy.
The Group’s cash position at 31 December 2023 was £278,675 (2022: £304,022).
Outlook
Chesterfield continues to seek new opportunities and is consistently evaluating many such possibilities. Whilst no transaction is imminent, I am of the belief that a shareholder accretive opportunity will be executed in due course and that is a key objective for me in 2024 and beyond.
I would like to thank shareholders and stakeholders for their continued support in 2023 and look forward to updating the
market as developments occur.

Not forgetting: "The Board aims to make the most of the Company's resources through what it aims to be a transformational investment into a new area of activity. Extensive work is underway to consider a number of possible options on offer. The most important criterion behind this work will be to generate significant shareholder value in the near term, and the goal is to be able to announce the direction of this next phase in Chesterfield's development by the end of 2023..."
Pity they missed that deadline but better to get it right than rush things.
Currently CHF own £183,000 of Sterling Metal shares with the potential of an additional 4.5M shares and a payment to CHF of £236,686 if Sterling purchase Adeline by 20th November. Current MCap only £586k with no debt and main market share

An RNS would tell us what they paid for the shares. Did they pay market price, a premium, or did they negotiate a discount?
Agreed Harford. A TR1 should have been registered and an RNS issued.
It's good to hear it sounds like the share sale to Juniper is a done deal. The last we heard in September was "The final completion of the sale of the shares by Polymetal remains subject to certain regulatory considerations and it is expected that formal notification will be issued upon completion of the remaining formalities."
They should have RNS'd this.
Juniper already own the 17.9% shareholding previously held by Polymetal. You will see that this is shown on their website.
Funnily enough, I spoke to Paul Easton earlier this week and he told me that they were going to have a meeting with their new advisers Peterhouse Capital. Little did I know that today's news would emerge.
The mcap at just £847K ( per HL) is so low. The company has funds to come from its Canadian assets with a payment of CAD$400,000 (c. £244,000), which constitutes 50% of an option, in the event that Sterling (the Canadian company) opt to acquire Chesterfield's Adeline licences prior to 30 November 2024, together with with a further 4.5m Sterling shares on the same conditions by 30 November 2024.
I have been waiting for something to happen having invested a few months ago after the share change took place and naturally now it is a question of watch this space. No reason not to think that this could be a multi-bagger once any possible asset is announced. That may take a month or more but you never know what they have already looked at.
Juniper will own almost 18% of the shares once the transfer from Polymetal takes place. Plenty of incentive to make something of this.

Worth a revist to this thread.
Significant upside potential
Bought a few here earlier in the week,Juniper International buying in interests me.UAE companies keen to diversify into battery metals/renewables space and plenty of cash to splash. Looking forward to better market sentiment in 2024 coupled with positive newsflow here. GLA.
NT to buy for any real size.
Value will eventually play out here & in a big way for those positioned at these levels.
Our nearest peer comparison with very similar assets and capital structure is probably AYM who are valued ag 10 x times the market cap here.
Like CHF, They have a polymetallic deposit.
There's is at parys mountain, and Chesterfield's polymetallic deposits at the westline trend are shaping up to be a series of large VMS style deposits right across a 12km trend with much higher instances of gold contained within our licence area
AYM also have exposure to a Canadian iron resource in Labrador, whereas CHF have both exposure to the massive 44km Adeline project and Sail Pond projects all free carried for holders here
Again similar, it looks like AYM have replaced their former 20% Cornerstone investor and we have done similar with our new UAE based investment fund.
I'm far more excited by the potential of the assets here at Chesterfield but even more excited by the valuation gap that needs to close to some of our nearest peers which is at multiples of today's SP
GLA.
I think we are looking at a nice steady re rate here over the next few weeks

I’m a little disappointed
It clearly stated ithat a new direction to drive shareholder return would be announced by the end of 2023 … we’re still waiting
Good luck to you, but "hope" has never been a good investment thesis!
What on earth do you see here that makes you want to risk your cash?
St peter
how bigger help iyo ????????
Back to previous highs of few years ago????? or just a 300% uplift or so?
Added £2k this morning. 2024 will hopefully prove to be a transformational year with Juniper help finding a new resource for the company

Maybe they are waiting until the 2nd of January so momentum will continue throughout the week
Fingers crossed
From the Half-year report: "The goal is to find a new area of business activity that will generate significant shareholder value in the near term and to announce a new direction in Chesterfield's development by the end of 2023. ".
I wonder if we will hear anything before the end of 2023?

Can’t be much longer to wait
Yes certainly many multiples of current market cap.
Great stuff - should act as a catalyst. Got to be worth multiples of current value given main market, no debt and new direction with new investor
Excellent update from Sterling Metals. Could be a game changer here.

Currently only £619k market cap!!!!!!!!
Can’t drop any further - main market share with no debt. Any change of direction / news and this multi bags
Additional capital raising or additional shares being issued are possible outcomes of such a change.
Or the end
Can’t be long before we get an RNS to confirm new direction

Can’t be that many debt free main market stocks at this price with a UAE private investment company in the process of buying a significant amount of stock!
Dropped below .5 so took opportunity to buy more. Earlier 1M trade cancelled - games afoot?
Absolutely agree
If we get an update , hopefully by the year end this stock could multibag bearing in mind the current market cap. The full market listing in itself could be valuable to someone
When this moves it moves - 50% in under an hour last week. We just need an update from the company on the new direction and the skys the limit!

Another 40%+ day today for starters
Difficult to say regards reasonable share price as we await confirmation of new direction following the transfer of shares from Polymetal to Juniper International FZ LLC. All you can say for sure is the current MCAP is far too low based on cash/assets held and main market listing
Chest went from 2 to 18 5 years ago in only 6 months.
Since then constant down. today 47pc up at less than 1p.
Anyone.. what are reasonable expectations here now and why.
Would be nice to achieve 3 year old highs eventually !£!$!
Still some way to go for a fair valuation though
Jezza
got the feeling, the 050 is about to dissappear
