Good morning Razors.
The last article about Sawiris was also reported on Enterprise News Egypt.
His fanily are also very active. A while back he tried to aquire a Bank there, that was rejected.
I am not sure the "powers that be" are too keen on him gaining evemore power and influence.
But politics there are ficklle.
Cant remember where I read about Golden Star Resources ,but it struck me the need was to liquidate resouces for better opportunities in Egypt.
Battery metals are likely in the south around Shalateens main reserve on the border with Sudan,IMO.

It would be genus if Sawiris were to manage successfully promote Egyptian gold and not cause a rally in Centamin shares.
Gold's hot streak is still in its early innings, say the managers behind two of the largest ETFs on the market backed by the precious metal.
Bullion wrapped up its best week since May on Friday as investors bought it to hedge against rising inflation figures, the latest being the more than 30-year record spike in consumer prices. It has climbed 7.5% since its recent bottom in September and is now within 2% of breaking even on a year-to-date basis.

True enough Razor - although Canada has rejected several proposed acquisitions in the mining space from Chinese 'companies' presumably for their lack of transparency and/or connections to the Party.
African countries are proving themselves much less persnickety.
Cowichan the article I posted comments China has an appetite for gold that it is unable to satisfy internally and is being forced into international mine/minors acquisitions.
The fire is beginning to warm up.

PS MrBond --> Good advice re: not holding grudges against Endeavour/Sawiris. The possibility exists we may soon be partners in Burkina Faso.
As another forum member posted earlier this week:
-------------------------->>>
"His ( Naguib Sawiris) gold fund has agreed to sell its controlling stake in Golden Star Resources Ltd, one of three gold companies under its control, to China’s Chifeng Jilong Gold Mining Co Ltd. The Chinese company said on Nov. 1 it had agreed to buy Golden Star for $291 million.
“The new funds and the cash coming from the sale will be reinvested,” Sawiris told Reuters in an interview
“So the fund will also be looking at these opportunities, and we’re also continuing to do its traditional work, acquiring gold assets and building them up into much bigger companies.”
<<<---------------------------
One thing is certain - for his age Sawiris has a lot of irons in the fire - our comparatively 'young' board of directors could learn something from that old man's drive to succeed
“Like a game of musical chairs, with gold miners buying each other and the potential spate of Chinese buyers, there won’t be many chairs left for investors“
Mmmmm
Sleep easy Zzzzz
Makes an interesting summary of gold and miners.
Scroll way down until you see a gold chart.
“Breaking Out
Gold breached a long-held trendline after the CPI print.
Apparently Eldorado and Centamin remain consolidation possibilities.

Should read - for the first time in over a year. - Apologies if anyone became too excited. :-)
“ Gold Price this time next year will be $ 2,700 an ounce “
Just a reiteration of my post last Sunday when gold price was around $ 1,760
You heard it here first ….
Yes after last nights chips fish and mushy peas I did the same.
Please excuse my sense of humour Rebess.
It's not much to report but it is a positive. - This week, for the first time in over two years, the SP breached the 200-day moving average.
If Centamin sharehoders get something to compensate, then all the better, no use holding grudges ,though would have prefered another.
Sounds like a done deal.
Endeavour's Burkina Faso country manager Adama Soro enlists True Method Mining Recruitment (London) to find :
'French speaking HR Manager for an international mining operator in West Africa. Experience in leading Human Capital best practices, Labor Law and Industrial Relations Management in the project mining set-up are essential.'
But a new mine for Endeavour in Burkina Faso isn't in the works, or is it?
Hi Steve ...I have been away for a few days so I have only just read your reply .
Yes I understand where you are coming from with respect to cryptos and where it fits in your overall portfolio and it all makes sense
Like many other people I am ruing the opportunity I missed, by not getting into cryptos when my son did , but that was the past and so be it .
From where we are now I won't be entering the crypto market ; for me the excessive rewards are in the past.
I think the risk of investing in them now are greater than the possible reward , but I may change my mind if there is a subsequent crash..or major pull back ..never say never
My equity part of my overall investment strategy is to select a very small number ( 3 - 5 ) conviction holdings of shares that I strongly believe are significantly undervalued. Centamin is one of the three I hold at the moment . The bonus with Centamin is that it offers a dividend while I wait for the re-rating to take place.. . Centamin is now beginning to bare fruit and is also gaining momentum which looks promising .
Long may both of our respective investment strategies be a success . Mine have been so far , but that doesn't mean to say there weren't any failures along the way.
Regards
Many thanks Tibbs
Nope, will not be a Lehman Brothers moment- completely different world economy and set of circumstances now.
mrtibbles, you sound like a bitter remainer and Labour member who failed to listen to the electorate over the past 4 elections and still hasn't come to terms with why you keep losing.
Lastly b4 I catch my flight.
https://news.bitcoin.com/chinas-real-estate-giant-evergrande-narrowly-dodges-default-for-third-time-in-30-days/
Rumble in various media that Evergrand is not making all its interest payments and that bankruptcy is indeed imminent. If so expect this to be a Lehman Brothers moment. Below is taken from a recent newspaper article.
Although some reports claimed Evergrande had managed to avoid defaulting on bond payments on November 10, experts have insisted the company is set for bankruptcy. Such is the large debt facing the real estate giant, Evergrande is predicted to go bankrupt "in days". Dr Marco Metzler, senior analyst for Deutsche Marktscreening Agentur (DMSA) claimed Evergrande had in fact defaulted on the $148.2million (£110million) payment on Wednesday.
Glad you informed me.
And there I thought a Narciccist was someone who loved and lived for Narciccisi.
;-) .
Either way not worth the time of day.
Have a good weekend Mr Tibbles and all LTH.
Hi Mr Bond,
The person is question is some sort of Troll that most probably is insecure in many ways and is suffering from Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) —
People with NPD expect to get special treatment.
They exaggerate their own smarts, success, power, and looks.
The lack of empathy leads them to take advantage of people, with no regrets.
Narcissists may be extremely jealous and ultra-sensitive.
Because they tend to be very thin-skinned, they may angrily lash out at any criticism or push-back.
Narcissists also may lash out when they feel like they’re not getting special treatment.
Underneath all of these traits is a deep sense of insecurity.
And — no big surprise, when you consider all these traits — narcissists may find it super-difficult to have healthy relationships, and have loads of trouble at work or school!
Boris Johnson, Trump, Farage and some other senior Tory politicians all demonstrate similar traits.
