Interesting times Abject , that probably was when old mandy lost all his money buying BT shares. Never mind as soon as we get back to £15 SP , mandy will break even.
Is this Mandy on stage?

Living in the past when such songs were appropriate , a time when Bt shares were 15 quid

"The proceeds are being used to refinance BT's existing EUR500 million hybrid instrument, callable in May 2025. The terms do not materially differ from BT's recent issue of subordinated notes in June 2023. The notes have a non-call provision of 5.25 (NC5.25) years and a par call option during the three months prior to the first reset date (year 5.5) and then on each interest payment date thereafter. The notes are issued under BT's EUR20 billion euro medium-term notes programme."

Faisal Islam’s take on likely economic news in the Three Key Dates section.
Looks like shares going up up up
Thanks phat and ndn
Share price is down to £1 not because of a court case which at worst case scenario is 1/15th the cost of the rollout.
I have a sneaky suspicion the share price is down because of the fibre roll out and debt.
Jesteh what makes you think they'll reach a decision so soon, when they've got over a month's worth of evidence to review?
They expected it to run up to 15th March so clearly its overrunning. I would imagine its verdict next week. Looking at the share price movement over the past week it'll be against BT but not huge. I would expect SP to drop to ~103-105 again. I am holding but not adding, long term it will be fine.
Where did you put the money? Just don't say RR or NVDA, hopefully something more original :-).
Revealed: Britain’s biggest Isa
UK’s 25 biggest savers amass record-breaking fortunes through stocks and shares.
Britain’s most successful Isa investors have built pots of more than £11m each, it has been revealed.
The 25 biggest Isa savers have amassed an average fortune of £11.6m meaning that the largest Isas are likely to hold even more, a Freedom of Information request from wealth manager RBC Brewin Dolphin revealed.
Analysts said the returns required to grow an account to this size would have to be achieved through a stocks and shares Isa, rather than through cash Isas.
Investors would have needed to achieve an annualised return of more than 18pc over the 34 years to 2020-2021. Maximum contributions over the timeframe would be just £310,760, considering the annual allowances since the schemes began.
The size of the Isas means that the accounts are bigger than the largest pension pots, which hold up to £11m according to data from the Office of National Statistics.
Rob Burgeman, of RBC Brewin Dolphin said: “Not many people will be able to build a £1m Isa pot – and fewer still will make it to £11.6m……………
Decided to pull out of this at a loss, but its not bad if the money can be used better elsewhere. I can always buy back in later with low share price this will be down for sometime.
It’s a good deal that has run in the past. The employee agrees to a future date to leave, then continues as normal to that date. Good for the employee and BT as both can manage there future and plan for it rather than a staff member needing to make a decision and then leave within a few weeks causing potential problems for BT in the short term. Very good idea and forward thinking.
Why is there no information available about the court case outcome? Says started 29th jan. I read expected to finish 15 March. Another site said 8 weeks so 22 March. Cannot find any recent news this month
So Abject , team member grades are entitled to 1 months pay for every year worked , up to a maximum of 12 months. So the max you will receive will be 1 years pay. This applies to Voluntary redundancy only. If you refuse the offer of vol redun you may be in scope for compulsory redundancy , this is discretionary and may be as low as the legal minimum redundancy payment which is capped at about £15,000 (compared to an engineers pay after 12 years service of about 32-£36000.) Many of the older workers are more than happy to take the vol package, combined with the decent pension.
(read it and weep mandy)
Hope this helps Abject

Is this to leave 31st December 2024? It’s a long way out to be agreeing such a package?
What are they being offered , 12 months?
They have spent a serious amount of her own money in recent months at these levels. V positive
"you unbalanced old twerp" hehe, Pot calling kettle there mands. Well did you go top up ? And I don`t mean with your maid.
Its only a small area but this is where the cost cutting will ramp up in BT.
