Thanks for the info Ellie 99 and Chris - new to this an trying to suck up as much information as possible - feels a bit like the matrix sometimes. Enjoy reading this share chat - seems like some knowledgeable people on it and looking forward to the next few weeks on this my first share.
HL heat map link
https://www.hl.co.uk/shares/stock-market-summary/ftse-100/heat-map
What I was referring to was a drop from 321 that it'd bounced around all day to 314 in about 10 mins. Google finance was showing a huge vertical line at the time. They often show drops as too far but with boo its not panicing thinking something has gone wrong. I had flashbacks to the short attack which I also happened to see at the time.
Actually it's not just FTSE 100 on HL you can have it for all the FTSE groups includin AIM 100. Makes you feel like a proper stockbroker watching the blues to reds STC especially Boo.
GLA for tomorrow, personally think it's consolidating ready for a burst upto the results.
Racer-You can also check out Finviz, they also have a screener, so you can check stocks that are trending based on specific criteria. Hope it helps.
Thanks Chris - appreciated
Don't understand sudden drop based on where this is coming from, speed bump yes. We are now back into consolidation and can understand if you only just joined the party.
Moral of the story, hold the line and wait for the ultra trades to roll in.....
Buy more. It will pass.
Hi Chris - can you explain how the heat map works and what information I should be trying to gather from it please.
If you don't like fluctuations no shares are suitable
Agreed Oracle.
If your in it for 2 years. Monitor the fundamentals but put them in your bottom draw till then.
If your a day trader which I am till I miss time good luck and enjoy the waves that you can catch.
Don't worry we will finish 319 today, no charts no technical, but i predicted this drop today based on the opening and my gut feeling, said it would drop below yesterdays close then rise at close to 319 so lets see if is should put the lottery on this weekend and let my gut chose the numbers.
I dont know what I find more comical. The thought of thousands of BOO share holders who worry enough to comment that the share has dropped 1.25p or that clown PP telling the same people to hold for 20 years hahaha
It was a scare tactic by the mm's to grab a few quick cheap shares, solid credentials in a solid company with a constant rising sp,
no brainer.
Buffaloben I wouldn't put it quite that way but was thinking similar that everyone seems 30 minutes ago that this was going to 400p + and yet dropping from 320 to 314 seems to have them thinking about leaving.
Unless you are day trading I recommend people spend much less time following the share prices as you will just over stress yourself needlessly.
Amazes me every time when people are shocked or look for a reason as to why a share drops a penny or two after motoring 20p plus over a couple of days.
Can anyone find me a stock that has moved in a perfect line? I'm saying this in a light hearted tone but if you thinks it unusual your either bat **** crazy or a complete amateur.
If people are getting worried about a few flucuations, this isn't the share to buy...have faith in the power of online retail
I had a look at a few others of mine and they hadn't dipped.
Saw ASOS had as well but i thought that could be Leicester related.
I've seen this before when the US market opens and it's going back up now anyway.
Could not be supply and demand could it?
Why the sudden drop? Noise or the shorters again?
Glad i didn't top up now, lol.
