Agree. I bought more yesterday at 53.6p, and if it falls below 50p I'll buy some more. This is a company with a fairly unique position in aquaculture given deals over the last 3 years, which is now investing heavily in R&D. First signs of fruits from their labour should have a significant effect on shareprice. Multiple is now less than 2x sales which feels way too cheap versus peers.
Hi Very quite here. Agree, a real opportunely to buy this stock in the mid-50s. It may go ever lower but no volume. No major sell off, just lots of little Sells by PIs and few Buys. Only 1.5% (cumulative volume) traded since placing news on 14.12.15. I bought this because of Woodford/ So I am not worried, as long as big IIs, especially Woodford, are happy to hold when paid 86p. Interim results for the six months ended 31 March 2016 is due in June and the share price probably goes sideways until then but it will recover to 90 to 110p range. SR
Continued miserable performance since the results - not sure whether this one large seller shedding his position or whether driven by disaffected small shareholders. Whilst legacy risks still exist, the opportunity to buy this stock in the mid-50's looks like a fantastic opportunity. However, I can't see a significant recovery until we see the first concrete numbers from the newly merged group.
Poor reaction on the news for sure, and SP bid now 28% down on placing price - and as one who almost doubled my holding in the placing I am not happy ! But my view on the INVE deal remains strong, and the trading volumes are small, so in the grand scheme of things nothing to stress over. Did you go on the webinar ? I found it showed a very clear and consistent strategy is well and truly in place now, and despite still being a bit "jam tomorrow" I find it still a compelling investment, but not something for the short term. For that, keep shorting and longing "big oil".......
Well I think we can safely say that yesterday was NOT happy Tuesday. That said, all issues were legacy and already known. It's this year that will be key, post acquisitions etc. I Would imagine that all those folks who took the placing aren't feeling great (though they're in in it for the long term of course...)!!
There is a webinar with management hosted by Equity Development on Wed morning - worth registering for and a chance to ask pointy Q's. It's always good to see / here management directly so a great service provided by ED imho.
Thanks for confirming mate. Fingers crossed!!
Tuesday is results day. Let's hope it's a happy Tuesday.......
Slightly worrying......??
Benchmark is not now presenting at Equity Development tonight. It has been replaced by Porvair. No explanation has been given.
Can't find a date when they were supposed to be released, but note they were rereleased on 27 January last year, so must be soon!
Kind of expected to see them today given that BMK are in London for presentations (tonight at Equity Development) but nothing out today . They must be due this week to meet the 3 month reporting timeline. Patience needed with this share........
nice move - sadly I am already fully loaded in BMK so won't be joining you Still, results tomorrow may perk things up a bit. Volumes traded are really low so nothing really to panic about, unless there is a bombshell tomorrow. My view, given the recent placing size at 86p, is that it will be all good news, or the CEO will seriously cop for a beasting from the institutions who chucked in $300m just a few weeks ago....
...after a transformational acquisition which is earnings enhancing in year 1. Excellent buying opportunity I believe, which I have just done at 71p!
Yep, BMK with a mkt cap of £425m is not something I expected when first investing back in Dec 13. Results should be due out w/c 25th Jan and I expect big news on performance of last year's acquistions in terms of EPS growth. That should be the catalyst for upward movement, which should be sustained with good news flow on other products (like Hypocat / dog etc) UNLESS there is another dropped ball........ Next stop a full listing !!!
I see that Woodford has increased his stake from around 19% to 25% as part of the new share issue. Punchy! (but nice to see he remains completely committed....).
The securing of funds is all done, but indeed a Yes vote is needed on 29th. However, the RNS states irrevocable agreement from 85.41% of shareholders (who by volume will be the institutions picking up more in the placing) so it is a formality - there is/are no scale holder(s) out there who can swing the vote. Salmon kedgeree for brekkers for me !!
Agreed - looks good. Also contains that magic phrase 'earnings enhancing in the first year'. One thing though - it's not clear to me that the placing is actually done as presumably they'll need permission from shareholders to proceed? However, I assume the buyers have been identified, and the issue is underwritten by the advisers anyway.
....and there it is, done by close of the year as predicted !. Fantastic deal i.m.v and shares unblocked as from this morning. Tricky time in the markets just now, but this is a mega-deal and I hope it gets the reaction it deserves. The fact that the placing got away at this level shows the institutional interest in BMK which is great news, and at this new size BMK should be heading for the main market listings and become traded at greater size / frequency. Happy Days, and I am in....
Fingers crossed mate......the length of time suggests that the deal is probably on - I think we're well past initial due diligence here, but getting into the nitty-gritty of the deal itself. Difficult to tell what the share price reaction will be, but it will be nice to have a tradable asset again!!!
just like Xmas ! Time is tight, but just enough still for BMK's end-of-year deal, just like the last two years. My view, it will be out before the week ends..... Fill your boots and get ready to see the SP fly (unless the update on last year's deal is rubbish in which case sell your pressies to cover the losses !) My view for what it's worth is that it will all be good stuff.......
I think things are about to get lively any day now.......
Heading towards 2 months now - LO, you were right. I think some form of update now would be helpful?
Probably good that the shares are currently suspended given the RNS. Market would probably punish SP hard when words like "delay" and "disruption" are used regarding sales, especially after the last Chilean sales "adventure".
Bit more from "TheFis****e" oops ! BMK are a bit top heavy on Directors for size of co. / no. of employees (a ratio of about 1:9 !!) but this seems a positive step in line with the latest acquisition target Robin Wardle Joins Benchmark Animal Health to Grow Aquaculture Health Offering - See more at: http://www.thefishsite.com/fishnews/26612/robin-wardle-joins-benchmark-animal-health-to-grow-aquaculture-health-offering/#sthash.K22heuzU.dpuf
