Sooz, the KU report can surely be used by Kurt to write to the PM and demand a date for conclusion of this fiasco? We are having the shirts stripped off our backs here.
Lol.
And, furthermore...Matthias Karlsson has just put a question to the Minister asking why he has allowed this matter to take so long when a normal consultation period is three months. That might have speeded it up a bit.
It has to play itself out, there's no point really agonising about it...it is what it is.
What seems odd is that the Company provided relevant information to assist UNESCO and there has been no communication from their direction about it, presumably because UNESCO believe the Government is their 'client', which has some logic to it. And maybe they didn't have any questions because the material provided was complete enough. :-)
I sometimes wonder why doesn't everyone close up here and open an account over on the avanza forum?
After all this BB is just an extension from the Swedish site as that is where the news, apart from the occasional RNS emanates from.
At least that way your frustrations, grievances and dissatisfaction will be heard by the Swedish fraternity which is at the very least closer to the problem. :~})
Besides it'll be more fun letting them translate instead of us lol.
Lb, that's a fair point. If BrainTec has received a reply from UNESCO then Kurt should have. If he hasn't then that is a disgrace, but he then needs to do something about it. As he has said, and Aug has touched on previously, this isn't a matter for UNESCO and it has no business effectively delaying a mining project that is not situated anywhere near the boundary of the WHS.
No, certainly not...you use every opportunity to take a cheap swipe at the Boss. BrainTec's reply would be of no value whatsoever to the Company, would it....It's a general statement and why wouldn't they be nearly finished after more than six months.
Hello Eric, he says he has "reporting dates booked mid to late may" so fingers crossed for something with some substance...
Thanks Roller/Pocko. I did read the Chairman's Statement and it can be interpreted that we have contacted and communicated with UNESCO by writing to them, but that the communication may not be two way. It doesn't say UNESCO has communicated with Kurt. If you think about it, I can communicate my thoughts to you via written mail and you could receive that mail yet not respond. You will, however, have received my communication. Like a tv is a method of communication, but we are only receiving the information. Lol.
Only my thoughts. Kurt could clear this up by telling us now whether UNESCO has responded by way of any sort of reply to his letters, or if they still haven't communicated with him at all.
:-)))))))
Suzy2,
You may be right about Braintec. Who knows?
If Braintec is authentic, then he / she has achieved what the CEO of Beowulf has persistently failed to do, which says much, don't you think?
Problem appears to be that KB has written the UNESCO opinion off as being unnecessary. By this time I would have suggested send someone to their office to ask when the hell they plan to respond. Its not like we are asking them for state secrets, just when will they answer
BrainTec is a Swedish shareholder....he's written several times and received an acknowledgement in the early days which stated they would advise him of progress in due course. You can believe it or not, it makes no difference...I believe it, he's a reliable poster with a large investment and I believe that also...it takes one to know one. Lol.
Wotitsworth, of course the letter has been ignored.
Why Budge, Farm, Littorin persist with the embarrassing procession of feeble letters and emails, which, for years, have been ignored or swatted away, is beyond me.
Having stated publicly that Kallak is not a matter for UNESCO, surely Budge must immediately challenge their decision to conduct a technical review, whether this is UNESCO's decision or at Baylan's invitation in order to achieve further delay.
He won't though, will he. Probably just send another email - pfft!
The wishful thinking is off the scale here. As usual without evidence. Who is Braintec?
Going off previous process the most likely is baylan reviews UNESCO reply for about two months than releases and gives all parties 3 months to give opinions on UNESCO comment
IMHO
Chuteless
You may well be right lbjj. On the fence is an outcome that would be expected, but at least its then back to the minister. Eventually Baylan must be ousted for not doing his job, there are enough people within the govt that are shouting about it. But yes, timeline is of course in question.....still.
What happened to Svens questions to Baylan. Just ignored I assume?
Yes, Pocko...Personally I like the bridge over the River Elbe...the people of Dresden made the decision not UNESCO and rightly so; now they've got the bridge and the palaces and let UNESCO sling their hook. The liberty of the people another OUV.
Wotitsworth, you should be bothered.
UNESCO is a global bureaucracy with an agenda. When such an organisation chooses to make something it’s business enough to conduct a “technical review” you can be sure they have done so in order to avoid any challenge to the outcome, which is the objective of most such reviews.
The best you can hope for is a conclusion which puts UNESCO squarely on the fence.
Something along the lines of:
“ The findings of the technical review show that it would be impossible to determine what effect, direct or indirect, any proposed mine at Kallak could have on the preservation of the natural and cultural heritage and importance of Laponia “
UNESCO off the hook and back to Baylan to sit on until the election, when a new enterprise and innovation prevention minister pitches up.
Simples.
It's slightly one sided if you're sending emails and not receiving any back.. not my idea of communication more like getting my opinion out..
Roller...If Kurt receives a meaningful communication from UNESCO, he'll tell us in an RNS, he won't tell you the contents of it in an email. And why do you think emails are not valid communication; the difference between an email from you and an email from Kurt is considerable.
Exactly Suzy2... It could be used to broaden their scope of influence? Though that would be short sighted...
Morning All. Must say I don't have total confidence that UNESCO won't take the opportunity offered to them to make it their business and I just hope the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth are held up as an OUV.
My last communication was 13/05 to which he wrote " still nothing from UNESCO" ... GLA..I believe it will come good eventually..
As of 13/05 still nothing from UNESCO.......we are all in the same boat, GLA
And the Chairman’s letter, issued to shareholders yesterday, was dated the 14th May... I don’t doubt that UNESCO hadn’t replied at the point of your last communication with KB.
