Company is very healthy. No debt. Does owe trade creditors though.
Revenue up and profit has followed.
I’m just curious what was wrong of the new appointment?
Looked pretty good to me; basically the company is on a PE of around 15 and growing around 15% which is pretty good value. Plus, net cash of £54m. What's not to like (market shrugs indifferently).
Wasn't that impressed with the new CEO appointment, and suspect that is the reason for the recent SP weakness. Good company though and happy to hold. Decent dividend.
No debt, lots of cash on the balance sheet.
Would make a great bolt on for the likes of Britvic or a mega cap like Coca Cola or Pepsi.
Peanuts for them.
Time for a takeover
Looks like things are returning to normal. Good set of figures and return of dividend.
Groundhog day 2nd February
That's tomorrow.!!!!!!!!!!!!!Dad413252 :) :) Very good
lets see who gets it.
Excellent statement today-looking very positive, has not been derailed by omicron.
Excellent statement today - looking very positive, hopefully will not be derailed by omicron.
As a long term investor you should be aware
that both IB and Rubicon will bein 100% recycled plastic
bottles from 2022
You both right about a plastic, but I my opinion we are doomed to a model from the German market, i.e. vending machines and a deposit for packaging. I think that in addition, there will be a tax to encourage companies to reduce usage. This, in turn, will increase costs, prices and demand. For this reason, companies such as Coca Cola are already changing their assortment and investing in greener packages. Unfortunately isn't seen this in AG Barr. There is the question of rising costs too. I am worried about this as a long-term investor.
I dont think the plastic tax will significantly affect AG Barr, they use mainly recycled plastic at the moment and are looking to be 100% by 2022/23. I understand that the tax only affects importers and manufacturers of plastic packaging that have less than 30% recycled material.
I do agree that a correction is imminent and no doubt AG Barr will suffer along with most other stocks. In the long run BAG should do well, good product and financials, but what do I know, playing the stock market feels more like gambling than investing at the moment.
plastic tax ignores the truths: plastic weighs less than glass so cheaper to transport, is also recyclable (even as textiles) and haven't seen evidence yet of any great product as an alternative for bottling fizzy drinks.
Check out my local Sainsburys...no plastic bags for customers to buy loose fruit and veg but all ready-packed fruit and veg in plastic...go figure.
Yes.
In my opinion all market is not looking to good, inflation & expected increase in interest rates may carry the risk of a sharp correction. The market is dominated by speculation not long-term investment, which in the past has always brought a painful correction in the stock market. The strength of Ag. Barr are its stable shareholders, but it is difficult to assume that in the event of major changes in the stock exchange market they will be able to stop of drop share's value.
And still waiting for information from the company how they to resolve a question of the plastic tax, how they are preparing to cut of to the necessity to reduce the consumption of plastic and how it will affect the generated profits.
Pogo001, to cut to the chase, are you anticipating a 30% drop in the sp from here, and just BAG or across all equities?
Huge value for 4 days.
Looking like reshuffles in the equity portfolios of large funds. As for me, changes between stable and aggressive funds within the same funds. This could mean anticipating large movements in the share price. From the company's point of view, rising wage costs and problems with recruiting employees as well as rising material prices reduce profit margins. On the part of the market - rising inflation, falling income of the population, a potential increase in interest rates or the issue of ecological fees and a tax on plastic are other restrictions. I think that it is rather going downhill as it is going up. And I'm talking about changes above 30 percent from today's stock price.
What do you expect to happen?.
I don't understand the meaning of your post.
Another day with huge shares value ..
On Friday over 1.1 milion shares, over 1% all company's shares..
Something's gonna happen soon....
Just checking if anyone still visits this chat?
Anyway, some good news on the divi front, dividend has been reinstated and a special divi of 10p payable on 29th October.
