Holygrail - hmm. Perhaps you should keep quiet?
Firstly, no one knows where the SP will trade in the future,
yes we can all make a guess/estimate, but that's all it is.
The stock market is about probabilities, never certainties.
I'm long Avia fwiw, but aware the SP usually takes a hit on any
market volatility/weakness. Added a small amount on Monday.
Well there we disagree. Sold lots between 4.22 and 4.28 ahead of the div. Took some did and topped up. This is a good 'un for the ex next 12 months. If it goes below £4 you'll be lucky...

Holy, "buying back below £4 because it will be falling below this point"
Not really a prediction is it when we are sitting @ 402.25.
"you have to ensure you are knowledgeable enough for when the market decides to move"
Seems you are suggesting you have this knowledge. Why not share the knowledge?
I'm sure many including myself would love to know at what point the SP will bottom out this time around ????
I'm afraid there is no such thing as safe in this market my friend but I will be buying back below £4 because it will be falling below this point.
All companies have there weak spots you have to ensure you are knowledgeable enough for when the market decides to move.
Holy
I would say this company is a lot safer than many in the Ftse.

They are managing to buy a considerable number of shares each day without driving the SP up.
Of course we don't want them to waste our money so the lower they buy the better. However when the purchased shares are cancelled we should see a rise. Therefore not in their interest to do so while their purchasing. Could be a good while until we see an improvement. My thinking though was to top up as early as poss. I set myself a goal of 410p which I achieved today. Who knows how long before it shows a worthwhile profit, I can wait.

It's going to take a breather, but there is 450 in her this year I reckon. Cevian is only going to get louder.

Got my top up price of 410.00 had to wait patiently but quite happy.
Technically nothing, but delays (which can be less or more than 6 weeks) are primarily due to finance directors aligning the outflow with other cash payments in or out.
But why does it take 6 weeks for them to make the payment? In the days of electronic share registers and faster payments what is stopping a company paying me my dividend the day after the record date?
You have received no dividend from Aviva today, which is ex-dividend day. Payment day is 7 Oct.
No just standard held shares
I assume this is a div paid out on your spread bet?
Hi all. I noticed I've got a dividend tax of 25% on my Aviva dividend today. Is that normal?
Almost got my top-up price of 410 this morning. Fingers crossed.
He is also treading a very fine fine line offering financial advice in most of his posts.... Had him filtered for a while.
