Not sure SYME qualifies yet but it does have the potential to be my biggest loss depending on what happens next. BPC was another near miss where I reduced my exposure and bailed out entirely before the end of the saga. All good learning. Have been lucky with a few others including WMH, TUI and TPK so on balance I'm doing OK. Got 30k shares at £1.59 ave so not as impressive as some. Still kicking myself for not buying on the last dip to 70p but hey ho!
For me JD Sports , bought at flotation and now original stake has grown 60 fold approx . Now that is and was a surprise!
I had a small pension pot that i almost wiped out, got in here at 8.5p in November and loaded my ISA also, the most relaxed I have ever felt in my life. I am over 50, happy days.
Herdie (might have to call you mouthy from now on) I have seen more dogs than a judge at Crufts.
However, we've probably all learned really valuable lessons from these losers, and once in a while, some of us take those lessons n board.
ARB has been ridiculously good for many of us and may be my last foray into the markets. After all, how do you follow this?
Hopefully I'll get away with saying it here but ... EUA might have to be added to the list soon. I bought in the early 20s and have slowly lost faith in making any money out of it. Sitting on a lot of shares still, but in hope rather than expectation now.
I managed to land a treble at Horse Hell
Pretty much wiped out my pension, savings and optimism
Sold what was left, flipped a few PGM's and Gold minnows then saw a post by splatted at 2am one night about Bitcoin in the side bar on this website
bought some ARB the next day at 5.6p (then it went down below 3p lol) did some research (when I should have bought more), sold everything else and loaded up at 7p,8p,9p,10p and 12p.
Basically I went all in and so far it's working out better than ok , no plans to sell as following Plan B Stock to Flow Model and with PW being the top bloke he is i'm happy to sit back and let it all play out.
Massive gratitude to splatted for posting about Bitcoin at 2am
G57,
Nice work, that’s you with passes out sorted for life ;)
Might not mouthy - Poxy Predictive text !
Also my girlfriend bought GGP at £60 k @0.33p before Xmas and dripped right down and was at a loss of £20k so persuaded her to sell a few weeks ago and buy ARB and now she’s £30k up so far, a life saver
Albert, I had you down as one of the sensible ones mouthy re think that after that admission ;)
Wow quite a few stung by WRN!! Scumbags!
CTAG, SXX both shockers, thank the lord for upsides like this. Love to hear success stories.
Syme, Yep. K
WRN, CTAG, BLCC. Say no more :(
SYME anyone???
My biggest losers are GKP & WRN.
I bought GKP at literally the highest price possible and it dripped away from there. WRN was just a shower of sh*t.
I've just remembered another one. Oliver Resources back in the 80's. An Irish oil company - WTF was I expecting???
Brilliant thread!!
I'm averaging 78p. Oh how I wish it was 7.8p!
Talking of losses can anyone remember Worthington Group (WRN was the ticker), Doug Ware the chairman if I remember correctly. Basically released an RNS that on company resumption we were all going to be rich.... Yet the company never resumed and was wound up.
Never saw that money again! God that was painful!
Thank God for that! I thought it was just me. EDL, BZT, BHR, CRCL, XEL - name a dog and I had it!
The Economist,
It already has made a fair few posters on here Millionaires - alas not me quite yet, And they are fully deserving for having the stomach to hold during the sh(& times, But yes think it will make a good few more in the coming year - Fingers crossed for us all.
Indeed loving the honesty, In fact this board has improved no end again in the last few weeks since most of the Rampers/de Rampers bug)£&erd of long May it continue, Anyone that says they’ve never backed an absolute donkey are either god like in shares or lying and my thought would be the later lol
If this stock X10 ( which most respectable analyst are predicting) then there will be a few millionaires made from this board alone. Hopefully I am one of them. We will all have a massive party this time next year....
Laughing and crying at this thread....
\o/
Not forgetting RGO and PIRI for diversification on the ALTs
Oxus Gold anyone?
