If someone wants to invest tens of millions in a geothermal project why would they want the investment funnelled through ANGS? There are legacy costs that may be incurred when the current assets are abandoned. From an investing point of view it more makes sense to start with a clean slate as it would make future divestment much easier.
The geothermal project is very much long-term thinking.
If they can build up the facility to 20 or 25 MW, then GL indicated we are talking about a very healthy cash-flow stream over 20 years.
The reliability of the energy source should contribute to a higher share price rating, the recurrent nature of the cash flow points to the payment of a dividend.
" if I remember right, discussions with US sources as to the most appropriate drilling techniques to be employed."
they could talk to the guys who just drilled a deep geothermal well in Cornwall (mainly with EU money) and have to drill a couple more - at $25 million each
With all these exciting new projects do they think they are the next SDL Energy or did they just have a look at their website for inspiration?

On the geothermal project, it's clear they've undertaken a lot of preparatory research, including, if I remember right, discussions with US sources as to the most appropriate drilling techniques to be employed.
Spoke of the hidden costs of solar and wind, because of the need to maintain alternative sources of energy on stand-by in case solar and wind-generated energy fail to meet requirements.
thankyou
After looking at the participants comments about the webinar, there are a lot of unhappy bunnies.
On solar, he said it's a pretty well-occupied space. Didn't rule it out completely, but sounds as if it would have to be a pretty exceptional deal for them to study it.
Solar and wind both run contrary to the company's desire to be engaged in "reliable" sources of energy, hence the interest in geothermal.
I missed the webcam, but i'm waiting for the video.
balancedviewer,
Why didn't you watch the webinar, if you are interested in the company and its prospects?
Did he say what direction he was taking the company, more geo, biomass, solar.
Didn't you listen to the webinar, balancedviewer?
He said that because of the UK regulatory regime, he would like to have a pipeline of about 8 projects, he didn't say he has 8 projects in the pipeline now.
Ocelot. What are the 8 projects GL mentioned, And did he give any timescale.
So now people's chosen BB IDs are subject to criticism? Seriously? Is that all that's left?
However, just for fun, let's take that ball and run with it. Ocelot, when are you going to change your LSE ID to "Unswerving faithful cheerleader in the face of all the fast-mounting evidence, for some increasingly bizarre reason"?
skyfarmer , there are only two effective ways to deal with annoying posters .You either ignore them or filter them .
Why balanced "viewer"? (instead of "participant" or "operator" or something like that).
It suggests the poster is simply a spectator on the sidelines.
Looks like your true colours are starting to show now Balancedviewer?
Maybe you should change your name to Unbalancedviewer?
Won’t really matter soon as the way you’re behaving it looks like you’ll be in Bin soon.
There have been posters like you before who have all ended up in the same Garbage Collector.
History does repeat itself.
