nhawan "The refusal was priced in. Everyone knew it would happen after UKOG'd Loxley fiasco. It is probably a good thing for now since it causes the company to focus on SFB instead of trying to raise more cash for Balcombe. Will win on appeal anyway and the company will be in a better position to progress."
This post is spot on IMO, time to move on and concentrate on SF now.
Skyfarmer, couldn’t agree more ... concentrate on SF for now. I hope GL gets the message.
Some of us have been saying that for weeks, but many here have been effectively claiming that Balcombe was low-hanging fruit. Glad to see that at least a little common sense seems to be dawning, finally. Either that, or the cheerleaders have just had to rapidly scribble a new hymn sheet in the face of reality.
ANGS remains as it obviously has done for many months a one trick pony - Saltfleetby or bust.
skyfarmer. priced in,what a load of codswallop, that's why the sp is dropping like a stone as i said it would.
Budget tomorrow, see if we learn any more about the government's green infrastructure bank.
May increase the range of financing options available to Angus.
Well, with ongoing radio silence about anything in the least confirmed from the "no win, still fee" outfit, it's certainly by now any port in a storm...
Sorry but the planning officer couldn’t even defend / remember his own planning recommendation to approve published 10 days ago! And a councillor replies “for gods sake”
You can’t make this stuff up!
It was a witch hunt
Let’s remember at the last site visit the Councillors made they couldn’t hear the peaceful countryside because there was a shoot going on in the woods!
How they forget! Hidden away in their back bedrooms they all get very very brave.
We don’t need oil! No... turn the thermostat up I’m a bit chilly dear..
How many of them are on green electric heating ;) ....... or is it mains gas, oil tank in the garden? Logs??
The meeting was a farce , two were going to vote before the beaten had finished.
We need councillors to turn their heating off for two weeks in March to prove their solidarity with net zero.. and then vote again
Planning policy doesn’t matter when you are woke councillors.
Tony. I also noticed the councillors shaking their heads when GL was speaking. I checked the councillors names before the meeting, and noticed the Bognor representative was on the committee. I'm waiting to see what his view will be on any Lidsey planning should he be on any committee.
Disagree that this decision was priced in, there was always going to be an SP move one way, or the other on the decision.
Unsurprised, but as others have said, concentrate all efforts on SF.
Not interested in any of these side shows for the next 6 months (never have been anyway tbf).
Get funding sorted as the priority and push hard to get SF finished and producing ON TIME (well, the new schedule, at least).
If GL has not got the message now on what should be the priority, then I don't know how he will.
Let's hope the 'new' projects do not become a distraction, runnng before they can walk again.
Hopefully the TR1's are here for the right reason, and this is not a concern for them.
gla
Crocqman talking arrant common sense yet again... as is his habit.
Regardless of any SP moves as a result of what was a foregone conclusion of a vote today, this is not bad news for ANGS - presuming that all is as well as can be reasonably expected regarding Saltfleetby. No more chasing rainbows, George... fercrissakes focus on the only potentially commercial job in hand.
The councillors were shaking their head at anything they didn't want to hear. It wasn't just GL.
gkb, the art of brutal pragmatism applies here, surely?
As one saying goes, "we are where we are"... so there's no point dwelling any more on the tens of millions of investors' hard-earned pounds that ANGS and its ilk have wasted (hopefully unknowingly) chasing the Weald oil fairytale.
As as for Poundland Gas? As another more appropriate saying goes "It may not be much... but it's all they got."
Glad the sideshow is over , now back to gas .
speaking of £30m, That's how much the south downs power station project has cost after eventually getting funding. There is a web page with all the timescales from start to finish.
Gall. you must need your eyes testing. The councillors only shook their heads at GL because it was 5 against 1. Do you shake your head at someone that you agree with,if so you are a very strange individual.
If I remember right, balancedviewer, Gallifreyan has put you on filter.
I'm not bothered if everybody filters me,but i will continue to post my views because we live in a democracy. If a poster doesn't like the answers i give i don't give a hoot.
All I am saying is that you can address a post to Gallifreyan but, because he is filtering you, you won't get a response.
Cheers. that's ok if he doesn't reply, I was only letting posters know who i was talking to, thanks anyway.
