Rox, I said roughly, do your own maths on your losses.
Ok Pigeon at £1821 per +/- 1p and your stated “swing” £19500 means that the AML share rose 10.7p on Tuesday? I’m going to let this one go because it’s your first time but Dunnie I can’t let your “And 62p is 25% up from we’re we are at -(54p)” go because you are a repeat offender.
Naughty step for you mate and extra maths lessons.
All we need now for the cake is for someone to take a Stroll over it
MY DONKEY NEARLY ATE THE SCREEN WHEN I CLICKED THE LINK!
Great, thanks PP. So we are here to fill in as your wife until the SP hits £2.5. I think we deserve a share of the profit or I'm gonna tell on you.
Just catching up with you lot. So funny, good banter peeps. I wish I had that many shares Rox! Iv got 182,134.44 to be exact! With an average of 58.76 after my little top up just now. Yes It's over 100k investment. Trust me, she'd rather not know! then when this is at £2.50 a share and I tell her, shes going to think I'm a very clever man and she wont have all the worry weve been thro and are going thro! I'm carrying that for her! And that's what you lot are for!
...clutching a carrot
My guess is Tiny has 243,701 AML shares.
Tiny,
RR was just due to the rights issue dilution. Not a real term drop. If it was I’d be hoovering it up! Ha ba
So based on what you’re saying, I’ve roughly calculated that you’ve sunk £100k into Aston and not told your wife. You my sir, have balls the size of water Mellons!!! Ha ha
TinyPie always remember those 3 little words that have stood the test time when questioned about anything in a marriage. They always work. My son has heard me use them use them and now uses them himself.
Yes those 3 little words have got me out of many a tricky situation.
DENY DENY DENY ha ha
Very true 3300, heres hoping for a positive day.
Aml 007 lol, I will tell my wife one day! Iv been investing since May and have got every penny iv got in Aston! Oops! It just sort of happened but I'm not worried. I'm gonna tell her when it's way up in profit and I'm about to take it out. Other wise these crazy swings would terrify her and she'd be hell to live with!
Lol. I'm not worried about been £9000 down. Was £26500 down last week so aston has made loads of progress lately and now with the news in q3 it confirms everything we were all hoping. It's just gonna take a bit of time. The markets are going to **** and were up, what more could you ask for.
@warleb - Just in case your son changes his mind, or you want to build another one yourself. [Wink]
HobbyCraft has models from both Airfix and other manufacturers, search 'Plastic Model Kits'.
My daughter and I built a WWII Mustang plane kit together when she was small, many years ago.
Anyway, back On Topic...
@warleb - I fear you are right about where the stock market and share prices are heading in the short term.
But I also hope your are right about where AML is going in the longer term, as that is why I invested here.
Like you, I have gone through this with my wife and this is a joint decision to 'See what happens'.
@TinyPie - Clearly your stock market risk taking is nothing compared to your risk taking at home! [Wink]
IMHO it is never too late to tell your wife what you are doing, as I assume your intentions are good.
My wife and I have seen the ISAs we set up for our children drop in line with short term market crashes.
But the ISAs remain a good long term decision, as they are worth much more today than we have put into them.
GLA
Cheers, Paul. :)
I was out shopping today after going in deep and passed a toy shop. So I thought I would pop in to get something for my son for the holidays. I asked if they have any airfix models and the assistant said that have not had them in for anout 5 years. I looked at her with my mask on and underneath it saying WTF seriously!!. Then she said hang on, I think we just got some in. So intriqued she led me over to a rack full of stuff I had never heard off. In a pokey corner of that shelf was the classic spifire, a red arrow and low and behold an Aston Martin DBR9 so I smiled and bought it. That's a good sign for me lols.. Sorry you were up and down but you held which is nothing to be alarmed about. Shall be building that model over the next few days because my son thought it was sh@t. What does he know eh......
Ha ha, good man. My wife doesnt even know that I'm invested in shares! Sort of feels a bit late to tell her now that I'm so deep in. Keep thinking I'll tell her when it takes off so we can enjoy the ride together! So nearly told her yesterday. That would of ended well after today! Started the day Minus £10500 down then I was £9000 up in profit! Finished the day about £9000 down! It's crazy!
I said to my wife about a month ago that the stock market will crash. It has.....
She takes a gulp when I say I am going into another company but she knows I am right. And that's the reason why people like us take huge risks doing what we do because deep down we know it's right. And it is right. There will be further downside for sure but my panic button is in the garage, in a box without any batteries and it will stay there.
I see RR had a fair day today!
Best wait to see if there is to be a major market correction (long overdue), due to Covid restrictions impacting on profits, before piling in to anything at the moment. Only my opinion.
Exactly mate.
I was eleated by the Mercedes news. This is what prompted me to come on board. I just needed that strong signal and boy did I get it. This company is probably one of the biggest bargains out there and should be a stong hold. This is not going to be easy. Even I will admit that but history will tell us that this will turn around in a huge way. I am not going to bang on about covid, USelections and brexit because it bores the sh@t out of me. All I know is that this will work out fine in the long term. This is not a short term investment but long term.
Well said Warleb, if this drops tomorrow I'm just going to keep buying and bringing my average down because unlike before q3 we were all hoping AMLs future was bright now we know it is.
by any means. It's a short term blip. It was expected and everyone knew it. Everyone is down but not out. This a fantastic opportunity and those that have purchased any shares in the last couple of weeks should be quite happy. Yes you will be down for sure but by god the recovery will be epic. I understand that many people will be down thousands but this is in no way a bad thing. If you have capital then it's an ideal to buy almost anything. Those that have bought but but feel that the earth has opened up and swallowed then be paitient. It's time to sit down, take stock and wait for the rebound. It will happen because it always happens. I am up to my nuts in a number of companies and they are all down. I don't care and niether should anyone else.
