Cheaper to get Newey across to Aston Martin than buy Red Bull, even if they could be bought. The cost to Aston Martin of seeing Racing Point in the new livery next year is very small. It's quite an achievement as it's probably a comparable figure to a rear wing endplate in a top team.
How about, a mercedes engine in the redbull badged as Aston Martin..Aston Martin in FE buying into Venturi, owned by Suzie Wolff...Toto and Adrian join too, with Lewis for 2022 after the 2021 rules staying in place to secure the record 8th championship knowing he's going to Aston..after an early announcement.Toto as mercs motorsport ambassador in an Aston shirt...
In my case it would depend who I was sending it too

Remember watching Newey at the Goodwood Revival in 2012. He was racing his own GT40 and lightweight E Type and was very rapid. After a spin early on in his E Type that he shared with Martin Brundle, he won the race as well as setting fastest lap. Very talented although probably benefited from coaching by Vettel at the time. But credit due he can drive.
Valkyrie and Valhallah I believe are both his designs and by all accounts he enjoyed having a free hand with these two vehicles. You can imagine that Vettel would like a collaboration with Newey again. The blown diffusers from his Red Bull days suited him down to the ground, but of course the rules are very different today and the current cars don't have such a planted rear end, one of the reasons Vettel has had so many spins. Is the Red Bull a better balanced car than the Ferrari - who knows.
I wonder if Hamilton would enjoy the challenge to go for a title in a third different car. I'm not so sure he's wanting to hang around for so long. He has interests in other areas and 2022 must seem quite a way off. For 2021 surely the lure of an eighth record breaking title in a virtually unchanged car is too big to change teams and potentially have to battle every race with Verstappen. This would surely be the case in a car other than the Mercedes.
Cool Crank, I wish we could use emojis as things can often come across different when added.

Aston Martin now has everything in place to become one of the greatest luxury car brands in the world.
The transformation of Aston Martin has begun. Since joining Aston Martin this summer, it has been my ambition to build on the vibrant history of this unique brand and deliver the next generation of exhilarating products as we enter this new transformational era in Aston Martin’s history.
We have made significant progress already and last week, we announced that we have strengthened our long-term relationship with Mercedes-Benz AG, providing us with access to advanced technologies that will enable us to continue designing, engineering and manufacturing the most beautiful cutting-edge cars across the world.
We have also updated our plans for the business, incorporating the benefits of this enhanced partnership and we are targeting delivery of significant growth, an important part of which will be expanding our product portfolio, so these are indeed exciting times for all of us.
The expansion of our partnership with Mercedes-Benz AG is a critical step towards achieving our goals for Aston Martin. The capabilities of Mercedes-Benz AG technology will be fundamental to ensure our future products remain competitive and will allow us to invest efficiently in the areas that truly differentiate the products that we can offer to you.
We now have in place the right team, partner, plan and funding to transform Aston Martin to expand our product portfolio and roll out a range of products that exceed the expectations of our customers.
We have great ambitions for Aston Martin and I look forward to keeping you updated on our journey to become one of the greatest luxury car brands in the world.

Crank there’s they have all been placed and Nov 16th is the day they settle/pay for them, with regard to anyone buying them they can’t, the bonds are only for institutional investors.
How cool would that be but we will have to wait and see and yes i think Lewis would want to get to at least 8 world championships before calling it a day
Now that MB have a world record of championships there is little or no marketing mileage left in the F1 team being MB. I understand that from next season they will be AMG. This is certainly a good point for Toto to make a change. I agree in principle that Aston Martin would be a good move for Lewis if AMG and AML had equal equipment. A world championship for AM would have a significant impact on sales, so F! marketing $$ would be better spent there. I also commented to someone the other day how the bottom seems to have dropped out of Lance Stroll's performance, so perhaps he knows he is for the chop. Vettle and Hamilton like each other and that would be an interesting team. My guess is that Lewis would want once more championship to be the most successful F1 driver ever.
We could certainly do with Lewis, Vettel is the most overrated driver in F1, I was gutted when I heard we had signed him. I could even see Lance Stroll setting faster times in the sister car.
Having watched the two of them extensively over the last few days, I wonder whether on the back of the huge MB investment over the next few years in terms of 20% ownership ,,, whether AML might be the next roles for both ,,,, Toto as CEO and Lewis as driver to make the British brand great via F1 - then in team management and part ownership ,, just a thought ,,,,
Yes Crank, their debt might be 2 billion, but their NET profit is around 700-900 million per year.
When you make a loss, debt is a totally different scenario.
The sp needs that information in the form of an RNS in order to respond.
3300, Thank you, it's sounding positive
Crank001, yes we know almost all companies are currently struggling due to pandemic. Many major companies in the ftse100 have billions of pounds of debt. Although Aml has had a falling sp, i believe we are at the bottom. And the company seems to be turning around. Yes volatility is expected but in the end will be good. 2021 will be good for AML. Aston Martin F1 team ;-).
Agreed Crank, that's exactly why I prefer not to use EBITDA.
I want to know profit, and numbers, without adding in debt and depreciation/amortisation to that number.
500m profit is very different to 500m ebitda.... and Ken knows it.
Turn your screens off and come back next year.
GT4, bang on.
This is a long haul turnaround, surprised so many on here expect quick results.
I don't trust EBITDA much either, saying £500M EBITDA in 5 years means you have to take off the debt repayments to find out the actual net profit. EBITDA is fine when comparing companies with different tax rates etc, but it can be misleading too.
Ermmmm, So who should we listen to? You with zero luxury motor industry/business experience or Mr Lawrence Stroll with many decades of experience and a personal wealth of $2.6 billion. Though one, I'll think about it
