It was last June we seen the first rise beyond £1 to £1.27 from the sever drop it experienced before then, and then September again up to £1.30
Should do!
Fingers crossed the right offer comes in and we can forget the sub £1 :)
If the interest rates are to decline before the end of the year, this should have a positive impact on SP? no?
Yep. Pretty much unavoidable IMO, over any length of time picking individual stocks. Well, certainly when seeking above average gains.
We are indeed bid city right now. Stupid politicians have left us vulnerable in so many ways over the past few decades, and this is just one of many examples of where the chickens are now coming home to roost.
Still, we can only play the cards as they fall and at least this M&A activity is looking like it is going to keep things interesting during a period where markets often drift down as the big boys 'sell in May'.
Thanks - balanced portfolio so there will always be a PFC or an AVON but never nice. Still, not over and usualy a way out or a way to recover as yet paper losses.
Very true Mary. Glad to still have a few left in the pot, for hopefully a stronger SP down the line.
Stop losses got taken out over at FSJ at some point today I found out...so you might get another bid offer in that one like you did at WG soon :)
FSJ was only ever a planned trade for me, so nothing left in that pot right now.
Well done on your WG news. And good luck with PFC, whenever it updates the market. Rooting for you.
Never regret - a profitable trade is always a good call,
Hoping for a rally to 130p and beyond when all settles in.
Agree. The chart looks lovely right now too. Regret my side pot sale at the time of print, lol.
This is one that I am glad to have a core holding in though, for similar reasons to you probably.
Subject to the obvious caveats etc.

Who they going to sell too?
Who will buy?
Why would they buy if william hill can't make any money in the unprofitable shops?
Sell the asset that completely destroyed 888 shareholder value in the first place, wouldn't be a good look
....Doesn't fit in with the over arching business model which is online. Unnecessary additional costs. Shop rent, rates, utilities, shop staff, regional managers, back office staff, HR, Accounts team, facilities and maintenance teams, real estate team.
Sell it and move on.

I'm not sure why they'd want a name similar to that oft stolen, self-combusting car.
Even made the local NI news - a very good sign imho.

Hoping that the proverbial market had priced in for a slightly behind target result, rather than slightly ahead!
Heading back to the £1 mark would be a nice change of pace :)
Spot on Morbox. ☹️
That’s always a problem!

Per Widerström, CEO of 888, commented:
"I am pleased to report that Q1 2024 revenue was slightly ahead of our guidance, with strong player volumes converting into improved revenue run rates. Having lapped various regulatory and compliance changes during the quarter, and with increased marketing investment supported by an exciting product pipeline, we remain confident in a return to growth from Q2 2024.
I was delighted to outline our multi-year value creation plan alongside our full year results in March, and am pleased to report a strong quarter of progress against these plans. We are moving decisively and at pace to position our company for long-term success, and I look forward to providing further updates about our progress in the coming months."

Entain update today not good news for Friday
If this continues to rise though the afternoon, then results are better than expected ( and someone already knows )

I am not expecting this quarters results to be good....both Aintree and Cheltenham were not good for bookmakers unfortunately.
Hopefully we don't dip too far.
Still want to see this rally past the 90s again at some point.... I think results are already built into this price.
Mainly people/traders exiting before the update IMO.
I would have trimmed if we had seen 84p or so myself before Friday for similar reasons, although fairly relaxed at the time of print and will take a view after the update (assuming no spike before then). GLA.
While not mind-blowing, the previous updates have all been fairly reasonable in terms of showing a light at the end of the tunnel. Surprised to see the price where it is - hopefully a 'good' result isn't priced in at this level, and we may see a rise.
Totally forgot we have an update on Friday. IMO one can pretty much ignore TA in that case. Just going to sit on my hands and wait now, rather than buy more sub 80p if the opportunity arises again, for this reason. GLA.
Had a 77p buy order but it did not hit. Nevertheless, cautiously optimistic at the SP action since the opening.
We could do with finishing the day above 82p though IMO, or it is possible that we are going into a new, lower trading range for a bit, where that 80p ish level might start acting as resistance rather than support. Not that I am concerned at the time of print, but from the perspective of the trading tranche, I would like to be able to take profits on it sooner rather than later of course :) GLA.

Net annual savings work for me.
The RNS did not say how much they were getting or how much of their US B2C business they were selling (unless I missed it) so not of too much use, which I guess explains market's lack of response. But it has to be good news - they are getting out of the market, so if they can get something for any of it, it's better than just shutting things down.
This one seems to trade in its own little micro climate. No concerns for me (at the time of print, naturally).
Got an 85p buy order set for another little trading tranche, should it hit. GLA.
Surely a positive? And this news was already discussed a while ago.
Wonder why the negative reaction from the market today.
Sorted should be a boost
+25m ANNUALLY
-7/8m costs 2024/29
Savings Net £16/17m - reinvest in business growth £10
WIll there be a special dividend ?
RECURRING annualised BENEFIT to Adjusted EBITDA of approximately £25 million from 2025 onwards.
Expects to incur net one-off cash costs of approximately £40 million in relation to the exit of the US, inclusive of the brand licence termination fee already announced, with such payments occurring from 2024 until 2029.
Add & trim.
When I first started 888 I had a small holding, went south so added increasing quantities.
I now have 8 x my initial holding averaging at below 60% of the the close price.
Hope my trims did not spook the market 😉
Unfortunately we didn't get to stay around the 93p mark.....would have been a very nice result on the day
Well done again Mary. I did not add, but not trimmed further myself yet either.
I was quite happy with the current name (do not like the new one) and while not concerned with the update today, I did not anticipate more than a fairly flat day.
Demonstrating how totally out of touch I am right now with the 'feel' of SP movements, on a short term basis anyway.
It is less annoying when it is to the upside as an existing holder, as the silver lining to this particular cloud :) GLA.
107 /92 indicaed to me that 107 is the next target.

Results not great imv , when compared with Flutter BUT the strategy looks compelling and if the market buy into the optimism we could get a decent rise here , more so than with fltr which has growth priced in to some degree. [ I hold both 888 and fltr]. We shall see.
Going to soar tomorrow. Well overdue. But the dips.
I could see the SP doing tomorrow what it did after the last quarterly results announcement. However for me the SP already reflects the comments on performance, and expectations which were shared last time.
If there is a knee jerk reaction tomorrow cos there is not a wave of positive news, and the SP crashes significantly again like it did the last time then this is definitely a play again
I have witnessed this SP crash to late 60s / early 70s a few times...and within 4-6 weeks it has been back to 90p.
Therefore if it dips tomorrow I'm buying again.

"Finally, once or if a formal decision has been made the Commission will ordinarily publish all such decisions in full. Fulfilling this request may prejudice the outcome of future investigations by the Commission, or another body, to the detriment of the public interest"
Exceptionally great news although "escape" is a very pejorative word to use.
This had seen former Entain PLC (LSE:ENT) executives, Kenny Alexander, Lee Feldman, and Stephen Morana, buy a 6.57% stake in 888 through investment vehicle FS Gaming.
Plans were then revealed for the trio to take charge of 888 through the roles of chief executive, chair and chief financial officer, which would likely have taken their holding to over 10%.
Me too but having bought a shed load at 80/81 last week, the 92p plus was a time to trim. Will buy back of course. Next week would not want to be short of stock just in case.
I think this is huge news.

Debt reduction should be the top objective. Any sniff of a dividend could put these gains into reverse. Any news on unlocking new markets/ leveraging tech to help could really help lift this back over £1
I think every penny should go into paying down the debt at this stage. Good progress on that will save money and make this much more attractive as both an investment and a takeover target.
Is there any likely chance they will reinstate the Divi? Would certainly boost the price. I suspect that the Willian Hill stores are trading well post lockdown.

RBS today - great news sp up imv.
By chance I noted this share has had 95 trades in 6 hours (less than 16 per hour) -- 27k of buys and 163k total sales in that time
For the record Flutter although a totally different "animal" announce their results on the same day.
Buy some Paramount. Then the just announced deal on the table is sure to close, or finally get a proper bidding war underway in that one, midas Mary :)
Not actual advice to buy of course etc. Annoying to have to say that when it is an obvious joke, but for now, we live in constrained times.
LWHL... if only I could move markets.... sold 3 tranches today here. Still plenty left.

To 1.2%. If a bid did come in you would value the company around £3 Billion if the above scenario happened.
On the outlook for 888 Holdings, the upcoming Trade update should show if the CEO has had any influence.
I did a feasibility study (Business success may be defined primarily by return on investment, meaning that the project will generate enough profit to justify the investment).Revised update November 2023
Pre Study
On 888 Holdings on the understanding of Due Diligence, The Revenue outlook, the Synergies on the Acquisition of William Hill with 888 Holdings, The bonds issued to cover the purchase of William Hill's forward-looking costs, the Asset Portfolio of William Hill/888 Holdings (William Hill UK, 888casino, 888sport, 888poker and Mr Green. They operate the SI Sportsbook and SI Casino brands in the USA in partnership with Authentic Brands Group and others)The outstanding issues with Goverenece pre-June 2023. Also, other areas that impact the cost ratio with Rent/Wages outlook, etc.
Post Study
With the above in mind, 888 Holdings took a large part of the Bonds to purchase William Hill with Morgan Stanley and JPM. This accounted for 1.3 Billion with Various rates of 6% to 10% range these run to 2027. The payment required over this period for Bonds Holders on a Bi-Annual Basis. The Float Debt which stood at 350 Million.
The Asset Portfolio of William Hill and 888 Holdings net worth compared to the Market cap of the company in November 2023. The Asset Value across the company certainly suggests the Debt and Market cap presently do not match the Asset Value.
888 Holdings Board came up with a plan to reduce the Debt ratio by 2025 within a reasonable manner in 2022.
It is now March 2024 and I decided to widen my Previous saved post and broaden the outlook. SI Sportsbook has been put under Strategic review. This seemed a forerunner when 888 Holdings pulled out of Deleware in December 2023. This will save £6 to £7 million in the coming year but has an overhang of £50 million over 5 years.
888 Holdings continues to hire people on the Compliance in line with CEO thinking. They also have invested in AI with some partnerships mentioned. The group has launched 888 Tiltles around the world in different regions Asia/Africa etc.
While this is on going there was thinking within the team on how to tackle debt and free 888 Holdings from it. The following is speculative outlook and in no way indicates what may come about.
The Fund rise would be £1 per share which would raise up to £1.2 Billion open to Investors across the board. This would clear the debt to below £200 million with operating costs of the business showing a core profit of £300 million plus. The dividend may be restored with some equity release, selling some of the group's net assets, and increasing cash flows.
I would add more but its a bit in depth so I chose a short version. If the above in any way did come about this leaves 888 Holdings with Market Cap of around £1,649 Billion with operating costs in profit and growing markets. The divdend percentage would be around 0.8% to
Well, I nibbled a few more today. 84p to take those ones from me would suit me just fine. Whenever Mr Market would like them :)
Glg Partners Lp short decreased by 0.11%
Total 2.57%

I would say considering 20% of shares held be Shaked Family - nothing will happen unless they want it to
