And kiwara had about 250M shares in circulation at the time it was sold - not that much different to XTR now...food for thought?
Sorry, that's my reminiscing over for this evening.
Have a good night, all.
"London shares of Kiwara, which owns the Kalumbila copper project in Zambia, jumped 30.2 percent to 68-1/2 pence after the agreed deal was announced. The shares had nearly tripled so far this year before Monday's news as copper prices recovered." (Reuters 2010)
If you are looking for elephants, search where they have been found before" (C.B. 2019)
-Just a little background information for the Newbies...
I understand that Colin's share of the selling price, at the time, was enough to propel him into the Sunday Times Rich List....
So he is definitely not in this because he needs the money...
ATB.
"Colin Bird, a mining entrepreneur with more than 50 years of experience as an engineer and explorer, sold penny stock, Zambian copper-nickel group Kiwara plc to Canada’s First Quantum for £158 million"
Does that count as playing a "blinder"?
Do you know, yes, I think it does... Caveat Venditor, in this case, I think!
cant get firm price on Ii to sell at moment
Hello Bob
I hope you are right, you maybe, but I am not as confident as you that we will get any copper income this year. The Copper plays seem to be more of ‘have a go and see’ rather than a robust project like Fairbride. It seems similar to the alluvials – could be good but may not be.
Yes he’s done a few pod casts but he did many pod casts championing the alluvials and quoting some impressive possible income figures. We know how that played out. Copper play seems a bit like that to me.
As I say, I hope you’re right and CB pulls off a blinder and we get substantial income this year – but I would be very surprised.
.Andrew, "I can't see any income from Copper plays until next year - assuming that ever happens.", here's hoping Colin pulls a blinder, odds are in our favour at this time, two podcasts in quick succession suggest he is quite bullish in the short term, a few months can make a huge difference.

Copper mines will increase SP if they play out as CB has implied. It may do but LTHs will remember Okiep copper mine and all the promises that were made with that. I can't see any income from Copper plays until next year - assuming that ever happens.
I'm more focused on Fairbride which is a robust project, DFS, detailed planned and has a high chance of delivering substantial income early next year. That should take the SP to circa 6p in a year or two.
it is the copper mines that will increase the sp.
I was giving you constructive talk - or constructive criticism and trying to have a joke hence the lol ... always good to top slice when ever it hits your personal target, I agree...
Ironhide
It could retrace yes, historically it does, depending of the news.
However the price has not yet been tailored in, because nobody know the Q2 result. Also with the latest new the M/cap should be around 20M. The M/cap is more or less gaining 1M/day though...
Ironhide - I just looked up your posting history and reread your last 5 price predictions for xtr .... they've all been wrong lol....
End of July for Q2 result
Remind me....when are we expecting Q2results? Mid August?
Look like 2p will be broken today.
By Friday, with good Q2 result, it could be 3p.
Finally moving up
