"It’s very expensive for the amount of debt On a PE ratio of 10. Can see this dropping to a PE ratio of 6."
I haven't bothered working out the P/E myself, but various sites are putting it below 2.

Lol this stake would have been worth €7bn today. Instead the BOD opted for the disastrous Indian stew with the massive bitter after taste and much indigestion.

@TerryMC
I look forward to a better day, when you shorties all get banned.
With your devious short trading and deceitful tactics, what you and Percy Porsche do is wrong, IMO.
@TerryMC
You said the exact words for 888, only a few months ago, but 888 are now 104p 😃
What happened there Tel? 🤥
Faulty crystal ball, again?
Thanks Mrlong. Fingers crossed 🤞
If this keeps dropping at some point a company will see value and swoop on it .
Your incessant interest in good ole Jax is borderline harassment order Avo
I now worry you may be hiding behind my curtains
When I’ve doubled my money here at Vodafone, then I’ll report myself.
For being just too damn good!
No no, it's just I am concerned about you Jax. You spend all day watching the sp because you are losing money on your vod investment and it obvious to see it's not good for your mental health.
“I've reported you”
ROFLMFAO 🤣
The sp collapse makes no sense... reported profit is excellent... especially considering the flat revenue...
Are the numbers in the Fundamentals section correct... ?
2023 2022 2021 2020 2019
Profit for the Period 12,335.00 2,773.00 536.00 (455.00) (7,644.00)
Come on avo it’s all in jest - how many shares do you own and are you down?
Lighten up btw
Vod is a wonderful investment lol
No it is worrying for you Jax because you own Vodafone shares.
Cretin ? Really I've reported you not because I'm particularly upset by your response but that there are many holders of Vodafone significantly underwater I've been there what they want is constructive dialogue not the bullying tactics almost always from fairly recently opened accounts criticising anyone whom does not believe they are about to double there money .. To others I recommend researching short selling .. for transparency I bought an initial tranche into the close today.
Worrying for the 100k employees not me
The market knows something is about to break Vodafold.
Jax, maybe you should sell up if it worries you so much.
An 11% yield is worrying
There is no buying demand even at this 26 year low. The company is history.
There is no way the merger will be approved. Always a given so why did the incompetents work so hard on a non starter. Because there is nothing left. There is no plan. Germany is declining asisindiq and the uk a basket case as an country to invest in
Glad the ramoers are gone. Probably on some other sites spreading nonsense. Its OK for them to have a jolly but when people are investing real money keep the comments factual and not fantasy. I have been blocked by many of them as their generation is one where they cannot be challenged so its fine. And do they even have money in vodafobe. Of course not. They would have bailed out when the ship was sinking. God help vodafone
In 1996 VOD found support in the mid-late 60's.
Is the market really saying the company is worth the same as it was almost 30 years ago? Nonsense.
Yield up to 11%+
P/E just 7
Trading update is the next key. 24th July. That will incorporate all the inflation linked increases across all the contracts. Depending on how many job cuts have happened to date, it could read better.
"Short selling shares makes the SP go down. Buying shares makes the SP rise." is not true .. If I own 25% of vodafone and tell my broker to sell just get me out quick my sales will likely soak up every buy I'm not short selling just selling the price will drop and if done aggressively it will drop hard It is the combination of institutional holders selling that has the largest impact.. the short sellers will of course piggy back on them but its volume and velocity that has the largest impact.
So why did they bother when it seems that this joint venture is doomed from the start due to the Chinese connection? I got sucked in here for the dividend, average 88p and what a big mistake that was. This company is becoming a bad joke and I think making Margherita CEO rather than bringing in fresh blood, was a mistake. Is there anything positive coming up that can turn this tanker around I wonder. Bloody well hope so!
I need some love like I've never needed love before ❤️
"Worries that VOD’s possible new bedfellows known as “Three (3)” have major Chinese links spook the markets. "
---
Nothing to see here and if true, only goes to show the incompetence of such MPs. 3 has been operating in the uk for over 20 years and no one complained. Of course they have Chinese links, its a fricking Hong Kong Chinese based company.
What is all this about shorts There is officially less than 0.5% short interest .. The reality is the selling has become self perpetuating when even fairly recent buyers who thought they were getting good value are cutting there losses a share can keep dropping.. No need for active borrowing to sell.. All it needs is a positive news story a major broker upgrade and it can rip higher. I am one of the aforementioned not a big stock mover but follow the golden rule of cutting losers and running winners .. Its a horror story right now but there will be money to be made
