Cretin ? Really I've reported you not because I'm particularly upset by your response but that there are many holders of Vodafone significantly underwater I've been there what they want is constructive dialogue not the bullying tactics almost always from fairly recently opened accounts criticising anyone whom does not believe they are about to double there money .. To others I recommend researching short selling .. for transparency I bought an initial tranche into the close today.
"Short selling shares makes the SP go down. Buying shares makes the SP rise." is not true .. If I own 25% of vodafone and tell my broker to sell just get me out quick my sales will likely soak up every buy I'm not short selling just selling the price will drop and if done aggressively it will drop hard It is the combination of institutional holders selling that has the largest impact.. the short sellers will of course piggy back on them but its volume and velocity that has the largest impact.
What is all this about shorts There is officially less than 0.5% short interest .. The reality is the selling has become self perpetuating when even fairly recent buyers who thought they were getting good value are cutting there losses a share can keep dropping.. No need for active borrowing to sell.. All it needs is a positive news story a major broker upgrade and it can rip higher. I am one of the aforementioned not a big stock mover but follow the golden rule of cutting losers and running winners .. Its a horror story right now but there will be money to be made
Chellybaby questions are the right one's to suggest trusting your research I have found to be the most unhelpful piece of advice.. over the course of 20 years I've found only the price matters the advantage we have over institutions whom have access to research / info we don't is we can sell or buy all or part with the click of a button.. I'm not talking day trading but believing number crunching from publicly available information creates an edge is pure fantasy.. All that being said I'm in today @51.8 with a starter lot of 3.. exposure of full sized position if get there 1% of total equity.. 50p will look again to either cut or add.
the blind leading the blind so Shooti has a go Re Buys giving the impression he knows what he is talking about when infact of course its institutional money that moves the stock.. what does he think its private investors all clubbed together with there 2k holdings gapping it down at the open ?? these are institutional holders with orders in the system before the market opens Pi's don't do that 80% of all volume traded daily is from the big boys some of the blue chips it can be in the 90% area..
i have'nt posted for a while i have never owned koov but well aware of the asos connection so tracked it.. the rns this morning is the the directors doing the right thing .. they are almost certainly going bust.. maybe a bid comes in maybe they get a highly dilutive offering away but it really is time to bank losses on at least half... i get it some will just hang on but i've lost 100% 3 times i understand the mentality but honestly its best to just move on .. if this helps just one pi to do the right thing then i'm happy... really feel for you guys whatever you decide good luck going forward
Agree with Ed i've visited to read up on AA not a ramp about another stock
Fantasy its below its 200 100 50 20 10 and even a sharply declining 5ma AIMEX is right its a classic downtrend .. its also making lower lows it does not have to be the very low at 4p just the swings... But anyway more importantly where is it going to stop.. I've been out for a while but getting very interested again
Webbs that just isn't the case its a zero sum game there is a seller for every buyer and vice versa but i understand if you are watching time and sales it can appear that way...this has been manipulated down i really would not stand in front of it take the hit on your short even if it rolls over we have a support level in place
Agree Capfan ...I topped up ... apparently ex director selling. Once thats done we should see common sense prevail.. 1st rate management team ... diversified portfolio .. Woodford is quite prepared to dump companies if his mind is changed but announced his wish to take more
Thx Isamboi ... taken half position ... Exactly what i was saying earlier insight such as yours is invaluable... We know its not going to happen overnight but your comments indicate that they may be on the right road. The risk reward is so favourable ...
Parkside 13 ...Go be a teacher somewhere else... I 'm interested in information which can assist in my trading / investment ideas... an employees view can be invaluable ... Get off your high horse and write something of value rather than make abusive comments to someone whom i'm sure has posted with all good intentions. Thanks Bothyboy I was close to taking a position but your insight has put that on hold.
can you substantiate your view fundamentally ...professional brokers whom reported today disagree ..what do you know ?
Yes Ok but Explain your valuation.
Hope your attempting to be helpful rather than de ramping to aid a short position. Technically easy to say sell now as 200 was the 2009 bottom but look at the immediate bounce. It coincided with the market low where everything sold off. However the fundamentals as issued by many neutral brokers does not warrant this. Of course its important for each individual to manage his/her portfolio but I have seen this happen so many times. Investors frightened out at or near the bottom. There is massive divergence on the weekly RSI ... Samuel you may be right but today has the feel of a blow off low... I recommend a stop a percent or two below todays low if that breaks then full agreement to get out.
