I watched remotely , lol
As for the wheel washing water!
Firstly it’s about 100 gallons…
Secondly the IOW is not self sufficient in water and the excess is supplied by pipeline from my local river.
Southern water wanted to build a desalination plant to secure supplies to the “ biosphere “ so they had enough water to give to the tourists coming for the TT and Rally motor sports they are now proposing on the “eco-Island”
I watch the ferry full of M&S lorries, petrol and diesel tankers..
I found the oil fired power station and the oil depot , and the new gas pipe terminal
Let’s flick the switch , just for a week …
Actually Tony - Red Jet and Wightlink out of service tonight, Are you swimming home?
Looking on the bright side, we don't have to raise funds for drilling!
It would be very easy to blockade the ferry and stop the fuel tankers , lol
We could bring the IOW to its knees in about 3 days
Not a single councillor with any integrity or common sense, judging by that vote.
A scrap of bog-standard farm land (including asbestos) next to a busy main road, is not an asset.
They have found cocaine and other drugs in fish in rivers around Glastonbury

Pockets of oil can be found in one location but not in a site half a mile away, that is what exploration is about.
Just as you might find a good restaurant in one town but not another, do you stop looking?
They were never going to pass it - too bothered in their *own* interests. Certainly never going to get anyone in favour of the national interest, which is typical human nature. Look forward to swatting these drones at appeal.
There is more chance of damage to water sources from crowds at music or sports events peeing onto the ground that from an oil exploration site.
One positive is I don't think anyone will be asking the council to hold the vote again and the decision will be made sooner at appeal with the conditions set there not by the IOW council.
The oil and gas extraction in other parts of the country have had no effect on the local tourism industry there.
Take Wytch Farm in Dorset.
In some places things regarded as unsightly industry are actually visited.
If the IoW are not going to contribute to the National good can we propose to remove the IoW from the UK and stop supporting it?
Now where is trip advisor, I feel I need to report on my recent holiday to a certain island :-)
It will have negligible effect to road traffic, and will be much less than that caused by tourists.
Tourism is the selfish and unnecessary travelling and excess consumption of humans, it is very bad for the environment.
Yet IOW councillors like the money from tourism so much that they are happy to forget about the environment.
hahahaha Mr Investment - I am not sure a rejection (expected) of this application is going to warrant a shift in the shareprice to under 0.10. As it will be won at appeal anyway and that is priced in. But if it does - I will certainly be buying more with you. Loxley and Turkey I think is what most people have their eyes on. This would have been an unexpected bonus. Gla
"Some revenue local or national is better than none."
But if it affects your house price????
The uk uses more oil and gas than it extracts and will do for years to come. The imported oil and gas has a higher global carbon footprint than locally produced.
If you are concerned with the environment to reduce global carbon emissions support should be given to local production.
The amount of tax revenue from the existing plot of land is zero.
Some revenue will be created by the exploration project.
Some revenue local or national is better than none.
The number of jobs generated by the current plot of land locally or nationally is zero.
Some jobs will be created by the exploration project.
Some jobs is better than no jobs.
