Surely all Canaccord have done is placed the shares in the accounts of their managed clients and don’t hold them for their own account? It’s possible they placed them with clients who already have UKOG shares so as to avoid dilution. Spread across hundreds of clients it is small beer for each client.
Canaccord might have a deal with WH Ireland to get first pick of placings. To maintain that role they have to show willing for each one that comes up. I remember in the old days One well known broker was so powerful they more or less told institutions to accept placings so they weren’t frozen out of subsequent, perhaps better, offers.
Someone asked a question on Angus which set me thinking - I think it applies here as well
"With regard to other assets, this means more money raises as they dont have the funds to do everything? Wouldnt it be better to deliver what they have first and build a base? Ukog did the same thing - and unlikely to see any return for shareholders by continually diluting. I also dont see 200 bopd as anything special"
This is, of course, logical sense. But this is AIM - no one would invest in a company making 200 bopd in 2 years time. It's all about the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, multibagging in 2 weeks, the cars, the yachts, the girls.
Given the glacial pace of regulatory approvals in the UK that means constantly having to find new projects to keep the news flowing and the dream alive.
What would happen if Sanderson told the truth and said "look guys - this will probably take 12-18 months before we're profitable. We'll almost certainly get there but really nothing serious is happening until then"??? No dream there.
It would be like Egdon - a couple of trades a day, a couple of posts on here a week.
Cannacord have made an investment decision based on future forecasts and not based on past sp valuations . As at today you value your risk reward risk very low 5 million shares for 10k ' reward 10? 2p? 50 to 100k. Who knows but Cannacord are here to make money. Ukog United
Morning all.
Seems like Cannacord is now being seen as some kind of white knight that everyone is hanging their hat on here as proof that ukog is going places.
Just as there has been zero evidence to date that they are selling out 'asap' as one poster has been claiming virtually every day for a month now, there is also zero evidence to date that they are accumulating more, and 'going big' here.
We would have seen a TR1 by now if they were reducing, for sure, seeing as plenty of shares were traded in the last month.
One poster seems to think they are accumulating to a 10% or even 20% plus level. Seriously?
With around 2 billion shares trade last week alone, and the new placing shares to be issued next week, we will see soon enough.
My bet is still on them maintaining their current weighting following the addition of new shares expected next week. TR1 within the next 7 or so working days to confirm.
And, as posted by a couple of posters last night, I agree with the 1% reporting thresholds here (from 3% and above) with ukog being a UK issuer. Have tried twice before to explain this, as have at least 2 others, but some still disagree.
gla
Upside inbound over next few months imho , not been a great ride far from it but as i read RNS we may actually be nearing an upside
Let's see what a revival of activity at HH brings.
I wonder with 8 billion shares in issue are we heading for a consolidation of shares at any moment? Then the Sp will fly with Isle of Wight drilling news.
I agree, re run Of the Bergen Bros scenario.
Cannacord knew ukog would settle ya and riverfoot this is a huge signal for further buying . Tide has turned holders and costs so low again poo happy days ukog united
Done them all been in here from Sarantel kennels, bought and sold many times lucky to be bailed out then . You have got to know this share to play it. I have bought in here at 6p and still made a profit . Wish it was that now as I have 40 times that amount now.
