Possibly another interested party might come forward. HCA are a possible or another US entrant. Again let’s remember the offer was 315p about 3 and a bit years ago. That was turned down. We now have one of the biggest NHS waiting lists in UK history - the offer undervalues Spire in my opinion.
Morbox i was lucky to stay in with very little holding but not complaining . just sold the lot.
i knew this was coming but i thought mediclinic would have bought SPI
There may also be competition concerns……
Think this a good sign, but a low ball offer. Anybody think that there may be other interested parties?
Hay, Volcano, in or out? I know you like being out overnight, Sod’s law!
It’s not a great offer. Mediclinic offerred 315p around 3 years ago. Spire will be doing very well at present - there are waiting lists for private surgery. I think the bid is too low personally.
I’m glad for all the LTH after the pain you’ve all been through, I sold at a small loss, but hay another day.
Well done all, I bailed sometime ago, but was in my watch list, Doh!
Today RNS!
Not in here, but that was along time coming!
A little reminder before the AGM.
... that The Naked Trader has topped up his holding here in recent days. He has quite a following.
Mediclinic might be if they could raise the finance. I don't personally think they would consider it until the pandemic is well and truly behind us. Covid had a significant impact on Spire, but the picture going forward looks very promising indeed. They would need to pay close to £3 to purchase the rest of it in my view. I'm not sure there is the appetite for that.

RBC RAISES SPIRE HEALTHCARE PRICE TARGET TO 200 (169) PENCE - 'OUTPERFORM'
JPMORGAN RAISES SPIRE HEALTHCARE PRICE TARGET TO 177 (175) PENCE - 'OVERWEIGHT'
Would be nice to see some positive improvement in FY21 outlook measures but reading the half year results again and the trading update whilst prospects in theory are positive , last years results will have the big write
down present reported at half year. Underlying results are nowhere near where they used to be. So results probably just reconfirmations of what was said in December. Hard to value at present. Take over potential at some point ?
Anybody got thoughts on what tomorrow might hold with results?
Any ideas?
LIBERUM RAISES SPIRE HEALTHCARE PRICE TARGET TO 180 (155) PENCE - 'BUY'
Thanks GW. I assumed it would be dilution but was not sure what the overall effect would be.
Think this has potential to do well and fully expect the current contract signed with NHS till March to be extended.
Thanks very much for explaining the likely impact, feel more at ease on my timing now :-)
