I don't think Irwin has much inside information on Solgold but he is a good investor and highly experienced. He certainly seem to think a takeout will happen eventually and if you ignore the lunatics then that clearly is the only way to monetise this asset.
My disappointment is in the way it has been run into the ground over the last 3-4 years. The $3m per month spunked on endless variations of a PFS to try and make it look viable. Suitors know what's there, and they know how to get at it, they certainly won't use anything in our 4 years of studies to help exploit it.
So why didn't they just park Cascabel at PEA and move onto other targets? Everything since then has seen shares printed like confetti and a declining share price to the point that the value of Cascabel whilst unaltered largely is now split between about 6 times as many shares as it need have been.
More to the point, why are they still bleeding cash? Just mothball it until someone buys it. A few people chasing licenses and agreements certainly doesn't require $3m per month spend.
I think Sangha said fast and smart, not Irwin. And Sangha's the bloke charged with finding an outcome.
Wanted to sum up a few end of week thoughts here as been following ad-hoc but not much been happening, also for no other reason than it is a public board and I can.. . lol
Warren Irwin - Whilst I respect the guy and his track record, strikes me as nothing more than a typical American (yes I know he is Canadian) who is over confident / arrogant and would walk over anyone / anything to get his way... including insinuating that he knows more than he can let on - I don't buy it personally. What was it he said - "fast and smart" or something similar? - proper egg on face although he will never admit it. In reality he is a frustrated investor trying to influence as best he can to get as much as he can out of Solgold. Don't buy into those people that hang on every word / tweet (or X posts as it is now called).
Nick Mather - be careful what you wish for guys ... never got the band wagon of people jumping on him for not delivering... the proof is in the pudding and the current CEO/MD performance judged by share price is woeful to say the least. Not hearing people screaming for his head ... yet!! I'm not convinced. Tempted to say bring back Nick ?
Investor and trader - I trade this and have made a very tidy sum, but I am also an investor having have never been fully out of Solgold with a sizeable chunk in ISA and pension. Do I wish I sold everything at 40p + - Yes Do I think my 'investment' will come good... yes but now less clear than ever as to how that will materialise. :-(
Current share price - tempted to buy some more but fear this will fall further with general market conditions... multi bagger for those that get in now and can wait 12-18 months IMO.
Have a good weekend all
i see the ******** is still going on. i'll be back when the playground is a bit quieter
Mockingbird
Conversely I’m delighted I won’t be around for another 50 years ….. though I’m probably younger than a few here .
And other wise people are advising we are getting hotter, poorer and will struggle with food security because we are ignoring climate change. I guess only time will tell which wise people were right, I’m lucky enough that I should be around for another 50 years to find out .
Some very wise people have long predicted the green nonsense will end when people get cold, poor and hungry :)
Addicknt, agree... I mentioned Topic the other day as thought he was looking stronger by the day. As you mention... Perez and lefty lovies tree huggers etc etc are way down the list. Self preservation hitting home at these latest polls suggesting individual value their own lives and safety more than the environment.
I still think Correa will get back in albeit through his lady representative. Question is... can Topic push it to a run off and stretch the process out another couple of months or more?
hear hear, i think i prefer to trust a multi millionaire with a long and successful history in mining investments over a chess playing ****** who can't understand an rns let alone string a sentence together without an array of embarrassing errors.
Quit bashing Warren folks. He is a major solg shareholder, and therefore has a great deal of Rosseau Asset Management clients' money tied up here. That makes his comments insightful when compared to the we are going to production rhetoric. Plus, he is a great Canadian 👍
Fort - I'm not making anything up my friend. You just have to look at Warren's interactions on X.
SOLG shareholders almost hanging off his every word despite the poor bloke saying he can't provide assurances and evidences.
As for me being bruised. I'm not so sure about that. You dug me out for posting on EEE a few weeks ago when the price was sub 2p. It's now testing 5 quite frequently and looks sure to run to 20p+ over the next 6-12 months. You're clearly watching. 😉
As for the other one, I'll be back in the money and some in Q4.
It'll just be SOLG letting us all down.
Solg MC been kept circular £350m ish since day dot.... 10+ years ago and possibly from when BHP made a move...few instances, it doubled...and, yes, that old chestnut, MM's and the A Trades - rifling them to subdue the sp as and when.... moving from Aim to main market did naff all but greater manipulation....add, the going-to-production rhetorics, being a miner pipedream, politics....all adds up to where we are now....but we have the asset just need the auction !
GLA
Yes from me. I've learned a valuable lesson in life
If you experience a really good hole, don't be greedy and stick around hoping for more
"bruised SOLG bulls who need regular reassurance."?
Bozi... who are these song bulls you talk about that need reassurance? You making things up again?
I think Warren is merely taking the view that should an offer be tabled, counter offers are likely to follow. No one will make a move until the first one lays the bid down. It's a shame we can't have an ebay style auction as the only thing missing here is the time count down clock... which for many bulls has been stretched but the nothings changed regarding the asset or what it will deliver I terms of profits come production in late 2020's.
Markets look about as dull as a British summer (well this year anyway).
Do you have any bruises yourself from any other stocks you hold?? I think I know of one other. mmm.
Based on the size of the assets, this would never go for 10p a share, but the broker forecast of 60p is starting to look about right, £1+ requires a serious bidding war and there’s no sign of that.
I predict a November sale of £1.92p, I tell you something, those mushrooms were good.
Adikt. You come across as an honest sort of fellow not to sure of your views, but hey ho.
What's your view on quady claiming he knows how to hack lse
I didn't, and never would. Just pointing out what a fool he is for claiming he can hack into lse.
Ironically somebody removed the post. Probably padmaster. He doesn't like anyone questioning the tripe
Nobody likes a snitch needalife....don't stoop to his level
Nal, to be honest, I'm not particularly interested in the web site. As for your opinion that nothing's changed, I profoundly disagree. Everything's changed, although it doesn't surprise me that you can't see it.
If you're asking me whether I'm happy with the pace of the SR, the answer's no, as I've said on more than one occasion. But I do not regard this as being indicative of your assertion that nothing's changed. In fact, quite the contrary.
Adikt, when I said the other day that nothings changed at solg. You jumped down my throat extolling how solg have improved.
Be interested in your views on the new website fiasco.
Seems to me nothings changed
Quady. It's interesting that I told lse about your post claiming you can hack personal info on this board.
They immediately removed your post.
I think you can maybe expect a knock on the door in the near future.
When one considers the excuse given for the website delay over a month ago, and if you understand that to remedy that would take one developer at most one day, then
A) It is being held to align with an update, or
B) Solgold have reached a spectacular new level of incompetence and waste
*talking a stock up
Morning DBW
He should be willing to talk the stock openly if he's going to put his thoughts out there. I don't subscribe to only talking a stop up when you hold it.
The delays with the website are poor really. It doesn't inspire confidence that SolGold can achieve much else if they can't get a new website up and running promptly.
The whole theory of aligning it with a news item doesn't really float for me either. It sounds like a ramp that is best left for the sh*te on AIM.
Just get the new website up SOLG and announce any news when it is ready for release to market.
Morning Bozi
No idea if Irwin is right but he’s invested so I guess his opinion is relevant ( unlike some on here recently) plus he’s hardly likely to talk the stock down …… it’s just a waiting game now
I was told a month ago the revamped website would be ready in a couple of days . One theory is that they were expecting to announce something alongside its launch but who knows?
