Yep there real is no need for the personal attacks here.
Personal I have been here since the 80p days and yes fatigue is setting in with the length of the chess game. But I have been rewarded soo far. Would like to see a Jv for Apala with a royalty for income and a cash injection for other sites. Or a knockout bid and I mean knockout and that starts with a £ sign.
Thank you Redknight for having the courage of your convictions and responding.
I disagree with you.
But we will just have to wait for the PFS, and see the outcome.
All the best.
That’s not true
What I’m saying is if you read this BB regularly you would know he regularly attacks people with name calling etc, seems your balance isn’t so balanced when it comes to the Q.
They will welcome you with open arms to their Q can say what he likes club.
My prediction Quady...
Sooner rather than later...he's a dead man walking...
No later than once the PFS is completed...
This is when the independent Directors will be talking to BHP, Blackrock, NCM and any other significant institutional investor before deciding what to do...
Thank you Steve.
Quady - I didn't reference you specifically. I was making a general comment on personal attacks. I know Earthling has some problem with you and was no doubt trying to get me to attack you in some way. I was trying to avoid that.
I also see that you come under attack a lot and I see no justification for that whatsoever. I may not agree with you on everything, but you are a genuine poster who states his position honestly and consistently.
Addicknt you make a good point but maybe Bhp and Ncm need to change their tactics from trying to aquire Solg on the cheap to sitting around the table with Nm?
I'd like to think his door is open and there is nothing to suggest this is not the case.
By the way, I didn’t mention CGP because they are irrelevant. They have to go with the flow. What else can they do?
Hi Steve I logged out to see the post you are replying too, and surprise it's Earthling.
I don't insult people, and you will find examples in my postings where I have made an apology to people, if I have hurt their feelings.
I have even said sorry to Earthling. ( I must have been having an off day, or drunk too much wine )
That statement in brackets is part of my personality, as can be sarcastic.
However I did issue an apology to how Earthling responded to people, when he posted on the situation with his parents and I still wish him all the best.
I however had to filter him, to stop myself responding to his attacks on me, as my sarcastic nature just sometimes takes over, and people on this board, were getting fed up with the both of us.
Your OK, as I realize that you won't being derogatory.
All the best.
Colonel, you make a very pertinent point; whilst these corporate shenanigans continue, we are in danger of being sidetracked from the task in hand. That is why NM must engage with our main shareholders. The longer they are on the outside pishing in, the less likely a satisfactory solution will be reached.
None of us want to be discussing this topic for the next six months, and I rather suspect we won't.
Earthling,
My answer to your question is No.
BHP and or NCM have to act. But hopefully they understand that Solg is a different animal to GGP.
Explorers find potential concessions and always need financial help to prove them up. GGP don’t have many concessions whereas Solg does. Every clear thinking explorer would like to have a mining giant willing to risk some money to help prove up a concession. The trouble is every time the mining giant feeds some money to the explorer to prove up just ONE concession they demand a % of the ENTIRE company. That may be ok for a company like GGP, but (in my opinion) that’s not ok for Solg. Fortunately Nick understands that hence the deal with FN. He gave away a 1% royalty of one concession in return for $100m. BHP and or NCM would have demanded a % of the whole of Solg. They didn’t get what they wanted and therefore they tried to remove NM.
I have no idea what will happen next, but one thing for sure, BHP and NCM won’t sit by and do nothing.
Z, what's the Porvenir fiasco? They've only just begun drilling it. What does it take to fully prove up a Tier 1 asset? Tens of thousands of metres of drilling? And several years. Anyway the SP was drifting along around the 25p level before Porv news came out. Now it's hovering around the 35p level, that's a 40% increase. Not bad after 2 and a half holes.
I think GGP is blinding people to reality. GGP is a unique and particularly set of circumstances. It's right next door to Telfer, that is a complete game changer for them that you can't expect every other explorer with a decent asset to be able to copy.
Well said Colonel!
Let’s all put our bows and arrows down for a few minutes, and consult Aristotle on the subject of effective oratory. Logos, Pathos, Ethos and all that. It’s actually rather a thought provoking subject in itself.
Quady - stubborn wasn't intended as derogatory :)
Maybe steadfastly would have been a better adjective.
Everyone will want some SOLG shares. Nick shudda have done this and nick shudda have done that. Toys out of Prams by the majors and so on.
All this against the backdrop of adding potentially 2 more Alpala style developments? You couldn't make it up if you tried.
Here's some facts for the thick amongst us...
You had one very special tier 1 asset a few months ago. So big that it's was one of the largest discoveries of the past 2 decades. It's huge.
Then comes Provenir (still work in progress) and now further extensions to Alpala through Cascabel drilling. And then there's Rio to come.
What's to grumble about? PFS has been delayed by a few months. Big deal! That asset won't produce until 2025/26. Just forget about it for now. Focus on the exploration plans underway. Loads of great news flow to come on that front and with franco's extra $50m deadline coming to an end, NM will have to make a decision on that soon. BHP can't do squat to stop it. But the Chinese have shown interest of late. They might be up for $50m investment in Alpala?
The future is bright here, NM is the man to deliver more exploration success and he's a proven guru when it comes to seling assets at a premium.
So change the subject. It's all about exploraton here on for the next 3 months+ Enjoy it!
>> And calling others stupid etc who don’t agree with him?
There seems to be a lot of that going around at the moment :)
I guarantee that making a personal attack on someone is not going to convince them of your argument, so you have to ask yourself why people do it. It never looks good though for the person making the attack, unless it's a really witty put-down in which case it's acceptable :)
Now that’s funny
Folks saying....so they say...( free speech and all of that....)
Do your research, read and keep an open mind for all information and then decide if it's good worthwhile investment for you.....as simply as it is.
GLA
Good morning Steve, I know we have not agreed in the past.
This post is not directed at you.
I always take on board other peoples views. You could not be an engineer if you didn't take on experts views who write technical service documents and bring forward the most effective solution in cost and reliability, and that was fit for purpose.
I am the least stubborn person you will ever meet, but I will ask people who disagree with me to present their case, and I fully expect to be asked to justify my position.
Just because my filtered posters disagree with me, and throw their toys out the pram, and scream louder than me, doesn't make them right.
I can be sarcastic, not one of my better points. ( I need to work on that more )
I can get things wrong, and when I have, and people have provided the proof, I have quickly owned up to my mistakes.
It's the only way for personal improvement and to gain a better understanding of any situation.
All the best.
ICE - thanks.
Rich3r - yep, Rio...the sleeping giant.....after the provenir fiasco I bet NM will also make the rio results sound exciting too. "Shock and Oh" ;)
Yep - with luck we will wake up one crisp march morning to find the chinese have added another 10% to their stake.......and then we can all go back to sleep until the PFS/CFP around late 2021, perhaps, maybe.....
Feck - my chronic Fatigue just kicked in again.
Z
And calling others stupid etc who don’t agree with him?
Quady
The same people said
We can't get funding
No ii invested
Grades are no good
Alpala is too deep
Ecuador will stop mining
The list goes on and on.
I often wonder if its just traders/mm trying to stir up a market for a few points or similar because the stuff that comes out is border line ridiculous.
smickster, I'm absolutely sure they don't. But the circumstances may force them into being unlikely bedfellows. Personally, I hope not, but it seems pretty unlikely to me that they won't be talking - and probably did so before yesterday.
Hi Q. I can see it as a viable scenario. Yes, certainly there are turnkey contractors who will design and deliver the infrastructure. Further, we can recruit the competence to act as intelligent client to tender and commission their services. What troubles me is that underground work has lots of scope for creating issues that can be managed but at a price. After that, if you move into operations, and then distribution, then your business is having to master many many new business capabilities in very short order. It’s do-able but it’s much harder if you have predators, and doubters on the share register, or are pushing into markets where there are more seasoned players. That’s a lot of potential headwind. The classic way to manage those risks down is to partner with organisations who have those skills and who can work with you as a team. My perspective is my own, but i would look to build those business capabilities by entering a JV with some seasoned players within the alpala / ensa ring fence and I’d be much happier hooking up with smaller players. Bhp and Newcrest are big beasties which is a huge project endorsement on the one hand, they are also predators who would swallow us whole. Partnering now with a smaller but ambitious miner who fears bhp themselves makes a lot of sense to me. Solg + such a firm combined could very credibly be the major in the making.
