Understand Jerry, and good luck, as the old adage goes, if you don't try, you don't get.
Quady, I am sure I wont, but a) it makes me feel better and b) I am trying to point out the ridiculous position they are taking. They may have some fantastic deal up their sleeve, but its getting to be a very long sleeve and its trying my patience.
W pretty much where my head is at .... to release something now may be deemed β not in the best interests of shareholders β ... who knows
Good morning Jerry, good luck with your request for info. I am not sure you will get much apart from a polite reply. My point is, if something is going on in the background then the release of information at this point, could be deemed as price sensitive, where under other circumstances, it would not be.
Thanks for doing that Jerry. I hope it produces some results. I am not sure what Newtoit (whom I enjoy reading - like him I want this share to go very well) means by repeatedly saying DYOR. If we could do our own research we would. I have made what inquiries I can and they reveal nothing. So we have to rely upon the company to do the right thing.
Coincidental to these posts which I have only just read and agree with, I just sent Eliza an email along the lines 'if you think you comply with full disclosure then this information cannot be deemed to be material nor price sensitive......., so could you give me the answers to the following....'
Will see what she says.
Great post, Optimus.
Addicknt, I think there is real sense in what you say. I wish it was not the case!
I interpreted the comments by NB as a public aside to BHP and Newcrest. Basically a bit of bravado. But I don't think either of them would be very concerned, sitting on 14% each of the shares and with the share price low, and being sustained at a low level, and BHP holding enough shares that it has one foot on the company without having to have paid too much to acquire it all. If there is no news for a considerable time BHP can sit this out. It does not have a director on the Board who would owe duties to shareholders.
Not only is funding for large mines very difficult to source but particularly so when Solg is a company without a proven track record as a mining producer and the time horizon for funding before production would be several years (4to 5). NM has a great record as an explorer and entrepreneur but no experience (that I am aware of) as a CEO of a company building or operating a mine (in a foreign country with sovereign risk).
As to the news blackout, there is obviously some strategy behind it but we are all in the dark as to what it is. This is not great for us PIs. It is odd that what previously qualified for an RNS (drill results) no longer qualifies. If funding had been put in place I would expect that the company would have to release that news no matter how much it wants to play hard ball with the news blackout. And there would not be funding in place prior to MRE3 and a bankable PFS unless you were getting funding on very onerous terms.
Like many have said on this BB, patience is going to be required. I am very positive about the resource and what NM has discovered. Full credit to him and he should never be underestimated. But I am not convinced that he and BHP/ NC are pulling in the same direction. Good luck to all. With time and patience hopefully we can all see a great upside here. But the news blackout has gone on too long and the share price is suffering.
I really do not understand it. I can understand a company missing deadlines but, I can't understand them not making a comment on it and giving an update. Especially when they have news on Blanca to dish out and even news that we've started drilling in porvenir.
The only thing I can think of is a play to starve cgp of news but even then the news will have to come out at some point, if cgp will consider a bid? Next week will mark a 1 year anniversary of the 'Intention to make an offer'.
Doubt we will get news this week so after the weekend only 33 days until PDAC where I'm sure we will get news. I guess it's not that long to hold out (assuming PFS will be in time but I'm not holding my breath!).
TheItalian, to me the protestations of "going it alone" ring very hollow.
I know people will argue they are not the same, but there are lessons to be learnt from both BCN and SXX. Both companies argued until they were blue in the face that they too would self-fund and "go it alone". Of course, it didn't happen. And the reasons were simple: funding for large mining projects is extraordinarily difficult to source. And this is before we've even considered the fact the business models of both of our main shareholders do not include being minority shareholders. (I'm referring to companies at production stage, not exploration vehicles)
I guess we'll continue having this argument until the evidence emerges, one way or another. In the meantime, I remain deeply sceptical of NM's claims.
With the latest tweet from SOLG about going solo, I doubt the company feels the urgency of putting relevant news out in the short term. My guts tell me we are not going to get anything juicy before March or April. Of course I hope I am wrong and we all become billionaires by end of day.
Bet, I am one of many here for a snippet of news (or two)! GLA!
Is today the day?
