Do yourself a favour and watch Extraordinary Measures with Harrision Ford. Feels like you're watching a film about this Company.
Glenfidrich- you misinterpret what I said. It was a response to an earlier post that referred to SAR needing a smiling face. I have faith in the science and Tim and John.
Having been an investor in Sareum for over a decade it is pretty clear that Tim is not going to change his MO however much we might disapprove of his woeful PR / Comms skills. It is time to relax and watch this unfold as we head to Thoth's 28p (and beyond).
Jeez, we're on the brink here and people are talking about "chancers" and "ne'erdowells" being in charge! I've certainly had my issues with regards to poor communications (particularly in the realm of simple proof-reading errors, which tend to send my OCD into a frenzy!), but to suggest that TM and JR are somehow disingenuous is ridiculous. They're science geeks, first and foremost. I actually suspect that money is the last thing that motivates them. It's the holy grail of finding a cure for cancer that they obsess over, and thus communicating with mere mortals such as us is a tad tiresome. All I'm saying, my fellow Sareumites, is have patience, keep the faith, and allow the geeks to do their thing (in their own time)! Rant over, and out.
Hi Thoth - I do agree that the comms, whilst better, still needs improvement and they do need to up their positive newsflow to better promote successes like the MTD outcome etc .... but as for Tim, we do not see what he is doing in the background but i do feel that he is a dedicated hard worker and so whilst we do not see his contributions up front, he has probably been involved in alot of the unseen background activities like setting up the manufacturing streams for compound production , discussions with potential clients or buyers, and a raft of other external activities regarding the tracking of our products that are being used for all sorts of evaluation at universities etc .... and a few weeks to tweak his PPT decks
Am a little on the fence. I did agitate for an egm last year due to poor comms. And had about 25% of decalred support. But they did take note and communication has improved a great deal. Is it where it needs to be ? Not yet. I think we have a 6 month window to realise some extreme value. We still dont have the iis. John is certainly beavering away on the science. Dont see much evidence of what tim is up to all day sinfe its not discovery or deals. So its improved but not where we need to be in a unique opportunity at the moment
Ripley and Num4 - my sentiments exactly. Very good scientists and people you can trust is my opinion as a long term holder.
As we all know, there are many a chancer and nerdowells hidden behind a friendly face.
Hi Ripley - I agree with everything your saying and I trust them to deliver, it has been a long haul and we should be coming to the end now, they could have done some things better but I'm sure every company could say the same. It doesn't take long to realise though that AIM companies need a flow of RNS's to remain valid and maintain momentum. I bought my last shares a few months ago at 0.52p, as a long term investor I should never have been able to buy this low, yet I am also happy that I was able to buy this low. I guess I'm talking about the difference between a good return and a great return. But when the science comes good then I guess it doesn't matter the starting platform being 1.2p or 5p..
Thanks for your post.
Having met them in person and seen the whites of their eyes, I'm not sure I agree... Purely and simply I think they just want to focus on the science. They believe that the science will come good, and that PIs need to trust them to get on and do their job.
I realise that isn't everyone's preferred approach and that it has its pros and cons. It's fair to say they have stretched PI patience at several points in the recent past, and have made some mistakes along the way, but I do think they're a decent, honourable, well-intentioned, and highly talented board (which is more than you could say for 98% of AIM companies).
Even with the grant, they got a lot of flak for not having the application in within weeks. Rather than rushing headlong into the process they took their time – presumably to get all of their ducks in order – and that for me is the mark of a careful and meticulous approach. The best in class, not first in class.
I've been here 12 years or so now, and I never thought it would take this long, but I'm prepared to wait a little while longer. The investment case now is SO much better than it was when I first bought in, and I still believe that we will get a good return on our patience and faith in the not-too-distant.
Don't get me wrong they will make everyone a tonne of money, but could have made everyone 2 tonne of money if they slightly adapted strategy.
Whilst everything that comes out of Sareum is excellent, as ever, they don't sell it with an imagination of scaling to a hundreds of millions market cap company. Many, many examples of the years - latest one.. The formulation success for SDC-1801, excellent news and even got our chairman to tweet something he had to type instead of retweets. Yet we do not issue a separate RNS for this excellent achievement, when was it actually achieved...why not release when you knew instead of a line in the results. Poor value building strategy but very much the normal for Tim.
Sareum are just too conservative most of the time. Value will come, but it won't be from strategy, it'll be from his children (LTHs know what i mean).
On the flip side it does allow new holders to get in a good price and others to build their holding, but I've been building for too long now.
I thought the NEDs may enact some strategy for shareholder value instead of the normal, but it doesn't look to be the case. I guess that's what you get when you invest in scientists and not businessmen.
Hoping they haven't under asked for COVID research.
