yesterday we were trading above the green 20MA line, today we have broken to the downside and tested the 50MA line and bounced off it, we are oversold on the MACD with it looking to reverse upwards, right at this moment in time we are attempting to push up back through the 20MA line, once over it im hoping for at least a retest of the 282 area later this afternoon. lets see
Very interesting, I expected the SP to continue the downward trend last week but it's showing resilience.
Whatever will be .......
I do hope the sp continues to fall. Although the vast majority of staff are honest hard working people, there is a problem. A significant small number of staff are lazy and not honest, happy to lose letters. I suspect Managers encourage this behaviour as Royal Mail clearly do not want to deliver anything other than parcels. Losing large quantities of letters is one way to force customers to cease this form of communication. I write as a victim. I do hope Royal Mail Fail as shareholders should not benefit from this dirty tactic.
I think it should fall further, been watching this and just spoke to my local postie (20+years service) to see what he said about the whole situation. Apparently they will potentially be going on strike soon over 2% pay rise and having to work Sundays extra now as it’s not keeping with inflation. Also they seem to be shafting shareholders with their antics he thinks.
The cwu have just put out a statement to its members regarding the talks which started on monday they both have 30 days to agree some sort of change going forward or the members will be balloted for the second time for the changes royal mail are trying to force upon us, unless royal mail change their stance we will 100% be striking on two fronts pay and enforced change, if any body out there wants my advice do not buy any shares, you will be able to buy these a lot cheaper in a couple of months i worked all the way through the pandemic and find it disgusting that our ceo told his workforce they wil not be getting a pay rise unless we embrace all his changes, although he has back tracked and allowed us 2% he then lies and tells anybody who wants to listen the offer is 5.5% absolute lies, this dispute is going to get very bitter , nobody wants to strike we have no choice.
Get on with it then, stop bleeting,I do hope you get a reasonable rise, but I also hope you have to adhere to change,I also hope the company stands firm, grasps the nettle so this is isn’t happening again.
If you don’t like it jog on,find something else,if the price drops I say thanks and buy more,if the price rises I say thanks and don’t buy more…and mr 20%….he’s sat there waiting to hoover up,if that leads to a take over god help you.
He will say nothing but will be smiling picking up the company for peanuts.
Who ever says these things will never happen are in cookoo land.
Postman58 you say the CEO "tells anybody who wants to listen the offer is 5.5% absolute lie"
This is an important issue if what you say is correct.
I'm sure also easily proved either way. I want to listen to him make the statement. How do we proceed ?
2% no strings attached pay rise a further 1.5% when everybody in royal mail embraces the changes , working sundays granted not everybody, moving our start times forward three hours, working less hours in the summer more in the winternew starters on inferior pay, changing the sick pay agreements scrapping some allowances? royal mail have offered to buy out some of these which ones and for how much nobody knows, and the final 2% i am led to believe is linked to office budget so for instance in a six month period if the office you work in manages to save money everybody in that unit gets a share, not everybody in royal mail and the following six months you exceed your budget you will not receive payment for that period, so clearly it is not a pay rise, by the way i am also a shareholder and hope the dispute gets resolved , the union signed an agreement in feb 2021 called the pathway to change which royal mail has chosen to ignore. BLEET BLEET.
Thank you for the detailed reply. I shall endevour to get an official response to your anonymous comments.
I'm sure we all require clarification as to what exactly is being offered. What does immediately come to mind though is that it's not entirely clear that you know exactly what's offered.
However I shall endeavour to get some clarity.
Redceo, the only real comments from RM have been articles such as https://news.sky.com/story/royal-mail-pay-row-heads-to-ballot-that-could-lead-to-strikes-later-this-summer-12637853.
It is true that RM CWU represented grades will receive an extra 2% in their end of July pay but this hasn't been negotiated and most workers in my office are treating this as an unsolicited gift.
postman58 is pretty much on the money in his summary and there was a "televised" live event on the RM internal propaganda media called Workplace a couple of days ago.
This event had Zareena Brown (Head of People), Grant McPherson and a couple of other senior managers in attendance to answer "live"questions but looked fairly scripted. Neither Simon Thompson or Ricky McAulay were in attendance. As far as I am aware, this is not in the public domain and I actually had to download the RM People App and sign up as an employee in order to watch it.
As far as pay is concerned, talks have broken down, RM have imposed 2% and that's it.
The "event" concentrated on just two areas that RM wanted agreement on how the workforce could work to receive an extra 1.5%. One was flexible working over the course of the year. So they would be asking the posties to work around 37 hours a week on average and be available to work longer or shorter as the workload dictates. This could be 32 hours in the summer months and 44 hours in the winter months. This would be managed at a local level and staff would be paid for the average week of 37 hours across the year. This could cause quite a few headaches for the delivery office manager especially if staff have to manage childcare?
They haven't mentioned changes to the network yet so starting three hours later. So a 10am start could mean a 7pm finish during November and December?
The second topic was reduced or doing away with twelve of the thirty two allowances. I think that this will be easier to negotiate as most of these allowances are out of date. The offer is to pay two years of allowances as a buy out and many of the receiving staff will be closing in on retirement by now.
So I suppose that the next "live" event will be on changes to the network (starting and finishing three hours later) , mandatory Sunday working as part of the normal hours, two tier pay for new entrants and the (up to) 2% bonus scheme (not guaranteed) if your office stays in budget.
In response, the CWU are now adding a second ballot over the proposed changes that form the legally binding Pathway to Change agreement. It could get tasty......
Oli.
Thank you for the detailed reply. I have asked the CEO to respond as I said I would. Obviously in anticipation of a reply I will post full details.
I noted that P58 was not 100% clear on information he provided "and the final 2% i am led to believe" so hopefully with responses from such as yourself and some further digging, we may clarify details and see if the Company are being reasonable. Obviously also taking into consideration they have many mouths to feed.
The Sky News article states
"Royal Mail said further talks are due to be held and it still hoped to resolve the dispute.
A spokesperson said: "We believe there are no grounds for industrial action.
"We offered a deal worth up to 5.5% for CWU grade colleagues, the biggest increase we have offered for many years, which was rejected by the CWU."
This is a cute play on words on the part of RM.
The actual breakdown is 2% unconditional, plus a further 1.5% if the changes to employment conditions are agreed and implemented with the further possiblity of an additional 2% bonus (so not consolidated into pay) if your office stays in budget.
Effectively it's 3.5% and a bonus scheme and not even the managers count the bonus scheme as a realistic possibility these days.
Oli. Thank you, I wondered where the 5.5% came into the equation. Ok accepted it's 5.5% in an ideal World. However I imagine there would be good grounds for discussion later were it found to be totally out of whack.
I would jump at the chance of more family time during the hot summer. In exchange for longer winter hours. The offer of a standard 37 hour payment in exchange for adjustment as described would suit me. Of course it could be difficult for others but family life has long needed to accommodate working hours. It's part of the trade off when we decide to have kids.
Annualised, sorry "Flexi" hours may suit office workers who are logging on and working from home however there is a good percentage of current posties that started the job on the basis that they would finish in time to collect their kids from school. With the proposal to move start times forward by three hours this would mean rearranging their whole family life so potentially meaning that their partner would need to change their working hours in order to collect their children.
On top of that, there's the record keeping. Some staff will have banked additional hours over the year and will want those hours back only to find that they are unable to do this.
Zareena Brown has said that flexi hours would be dealt with on an employee by employees basis but it's going to be an absolute nightmare for the local admin teams and will probably need a couple of full time managers just to keep on top of the situation in larger offices.
Giving an honest assessment, it looks as though our senior managers have drawn some of the proposals up without giving much thought to the fine print, much like the bloke that lives in 10 Downing Street...lol
It's indeed a conundrum. Maybe enough workers will find the flexi arrangement suits them and the scheme can be adopted.
Perhaps the managers being aware how bolshy the workforce are ;-) put forward proposals with the knowledge that they will need to adjust the finer detail later.
I would move heaven and Earth to get a done deal. The alternative could well be DK. I can't imagine that's a better option.
Boris....... I despair but can understand. It's very difficult to deal with fine print and the effects of inbibing.
@ Redceo.
Do you not read anything that is written here?
It's not a conundrum, IMO. But i can't speak for over 100,000 employees. I can however speak for the 65 people i work with. And basically RMG can take a hike.
I did actually speak about flexi hours to a workmate. Based on him going over his hours at least 3 days out of 5, like he and his shared van partner do, they could, based on hours worked, added to their current annual leave, have 50 days holiday per year. That doesn't factor in, November and December. Or the fact they come in 30 minutes early each day. So you could probably increase that to 60.
You need to read again what Oli G posted. They want us to start 3 hours later. Which means we'll finish 3 hours later. How is that spending more time with the family during the hot summer? We will actually be finishing later than we are now. And the workforce aren't bolshy. Just because what we do doesn't suit your thinking, doesn't mean we are bolshy.
I welcome VESA taking over the company. What are they, DK, going to do? You're obviously desperate for this to happen. Maybe to bolster your funds invested here.
You need to stop talking through wallet.
Mr Isleworth - a helpful and passionate view - thx for sharing
Isle, "Do you not read anything that is written here?"
Actually that's exactly what I do. I read what's written e g. From Oli, " be available to work longer or shorter as the workload dictates. This could be 32 hours in the summer months " Hence comment that more hours home in summer.
Isle, For some inexplicable reason you have been complimented on your response.
I however find your usual tone beligerent and not conducive to a pleasant Sunday. Therefore as far as I'm concerned it's cheerio Isleworth
Ha Ha. Angersharkz Filters me (so he says) but can't resist a quick look before renewing the filter, if it existed at all. Something I doubt he doesn't have the character to stick to a decision. Why filter then respond to the post, this isn't the first time? Of course Fear Of Missing Out.
I haven't blocked anyone. Doesn't mean though that I don't ignore some comments. AngerSharkz what a loser.
30 minutes elapsed and he can't think of a way to respond without admitting he peeked.
Not really the done thing to post about him when he's blind.....
BUT! the lack of character he projects by calling me disgusting names is cause enough !
AngerSharkz... WHAT a LOSER!!!
OK the AngerSharkz chapter closed.
The filter is a very useful option although I don't use it.
Therefore I promise not to be offended by being filtered by others. Some may well have done but not felt the need to give me more oxygen by declaring they have (supposedly)
People like
Phunt : useful name to play with. ;-)
He arrived with a post endeavouring to put me down. Subsequently posted continuously usually mentioning me. Now declares I'm filtered! another loser.
Just so you don't worry about me :-))))
