Any settlement prior to auction I would expect to be at the lower end, but in an arbitration process I would expect the $1bn to be nearer the mark but possibly below the number.
I would take you hand off for $250m net to PAT prior to any auction process - money now outweighs the promise of higher gains later. I would love to know if India or GoR have blinked at all - my expectation is that I dont expect them to - however they may get better bids in April if they agree a settlement first - just starting that engagement would be massive news.
If there isnt a claim registered this month, my personal assumption would be that there is some discussion on settlement somewhere via some back-channel.
The joys of speculation and the ongoing acquisition of investor patience for me!

I think initial attempt to sell might be scheduled for 5th april.
Basically we are waiting to see if we have any comms from goi or launch arbitration. At that time we understand our claim. Broker indicating 500 to 1billion usd, which is probably spoon fed from.company..
Indian press had people quoting worth over $1 billion, but i expecr it to.be closer to broker range
Sorry Cap in a rush..but the auction is go of india holding auction for bhukia ..Google bhukia mining auction times of india.
We are going to arbitration...the quantum should be announce by this month end.
Hi, been away from shares for a while and come back.to check on PAT. I can see in he thread talks of auction and last chance to buy on Thursday, whats this for please?
Btw. The same day i have a call with ceo and cfo of lcm.
I want to feedback on their recent presentation and hopefully understand more about the mining dispute space.
If governments have incentives to take assets, then this might create a nice pipeline of cases that legally might not be that strong. Which can lead to systematic mispricings.
My next project might be to write a python script to find these situations ( but i need to learn python first ) :)
Thx. I read that comment as well. It is quite important so i want a reconfirmation.
If something matters to me i always reach out to the company for reconfirmation.
Hey @ Gallmat..somebody checked that out before with MB ..its calendar year..so anytime now with a bit of luck!
Noted.
I want to clarify if when they said next step is end of q1 is calendar or their fiscal year q1
The rest of questions will be light and asking more about how they manage dilution.
Good shout Ejt..Thursday is also the last day to buy the auction docs etc.
Gallmat, a question that is worth asking Mark (but he probably can't answer) is whether or not we are still on for an interview and an update this month?
Having a chat on thursday with Mark. Not sure i will learn much but it is good to touch base.
Expecting to hear soon
I was hoping he had been to West Africa. Faskens I assume are dealing with the other stuff.
Any idea where Mark's been?
Everyone is entitled to (and deserve) a break. Timing is interesting though.
On a more positive note looking forward to news from West Africa..in particular Bassala which pat own 80% of ..plus the other projects.
If the average man in the street fancys a dabble on stocks..ie new Isa just announced.
Then he finds out somebody can manipulate the price with ( as I understand) shares they don't even own is going to say..wtf in he'll is all that about??...I agree 100% with Alan.
Aim is very illiquid. If you see a weak orderbook and you have size. Very easy to tank the market.
Short selling in a liquid market is fine.
Not sure it is big issue here, we need to focus on the asset in hand
If the shorters are so good then why do so many companies go under after fleecing the average share holders for years?
So you can take your take as my take is they are low life people scamming others
Why would you want to petition against short selling? Just because it can drive share prices down?
If there is nothing wrong with a business and there is no shady practice, short selling is unlikely to have any major impact in the long term as fundamentals will ultimately drive SP performance and good businesses won't really be targeted by shorters as it's too risky. I tend to think of shorters being good for the market personally in that they provide extremely in depth research and uncover many of the big frauds or malpractice over the years. If you know the SP performance of a company has been unfairly bombed out due to shorting it's an opportunity rather than a negative surely?
My take is people don't like shorting simply because they don't like to be disagreed with and they like their shares to go up.
Baffles me who the little sellers are here day after day, are the market makers exchanging shares at bid to try to scare the naive into selling? There absolutely seems to be a 'retain control of the price at all costs' mentality, likely to keep it under the radar. News can't be too far away now...
The petition against short selling is now live and working.
I found it on prem 7.28 post..or by simple Google search.
Very likely that the interview comes after the news, as per usual.
Send him an email. No harm he is back on monday
Let's hope MB does his interview soon, along with an RNS or something to give us a clue !..
