Icarus - OMI almost certainly won't be there by the time that production comes around, Brad has even said that himself. We will be bought out at some stage (relatively soon imo) which is why it is hard to directly compare the market cap here to the companies mentioned below.
seingred/dr Remington. Happy to hold for gold :-), but can you confirm this is some way off from production?
SeingRed as previously said the biggest difference between Fenix etc is the JV we have, exploration costs us nothing, we are paid for the privilege, and there’s nothing to prevent them throwing the value of our current market cap at this annually. I personally think we will end up over £100m market cap way way before mining. That’s my personal opinion. The worst times are behind us, drill rigs are turning all is good. The share price drop will benefit me as I will be looking to add. Good luck to all.
dr, could you give me some examples of gold explorers not producing in latin america with m caps over £100m let alone with 25% of an asset. I can think of a number of 100 k oz heading to production with this kind of m cap;
fenix orro, m cap £13 m, outcrop £13m and baroyeca £17 m, in colombia all have m caps well below ours . maybe worth spreading a bit in each of these .
i hold calibre soon to begin Nicaragua and us, soon to be 250 k oz pa , 18 rigs turning $90 m in cash, little over £ 300m and they fully own their assets.
I also hold a number of 60 - 120 k oz producers with m caps between £ 80-130 m debt free.
OMI is just about my largest holding , partly because I bought most below 4 p and will see a life changing event with further gains but I have been in this game for a long time and seen quick gains disappear , never to be achieved again so am more cautious than some here but still nicely in profit and hopeful for twenties this year. what surprises me is how so many posters wait for a spike then attempt to buy, complaining of not being able to buy. I havnt experienced many issues but then don't buy after or during a spike. would suggest a look at our peers in colombia because if our assets do hit big the likelihood is fenix and baroyeca will follow, or surpass possibly.
anyhow , looks like a bit more topping up opportunity available. get lucky
Great opportunity here looking to add to my small holding this week .. 11p would be great but happy to add higher if I have to .
I've never seen so many filtered messages in such a small amount of time! Good luck with the negativity:)
For the 100th time Wayne I’m not trading it, I want it to go up!!, doesn’t mean that I’m gonna sit here and ramp saying oh we are going to 50p. If it drifts further it’s a great time up opportunity as u could see massive gains from these prices,
Don't understand why you would mess about with trading this when you are likely to make a fortune in the not too distant future if you hold for longer than 5 minutes. Top up time.
Love it how people get so offended when there are suggestions that the share price will most likely fall further over the next few weeks. I as many of you want to see the share price move up in a big way, but atm it is more likely we will see another tick down
It’s ok Wayne, doesn’t bother me, those two and other can spew out whatever rubbish they want, I’m not after a few pence here. Got too much invested to see for a quick trade and a few pennies.
Make use of the filter then you don't need to see it. You're right valuefinder, incredibly transparent.
The thing is the market doesn’t get excited because it’s all common knowledge as Brad tells everyone before RNS.
Columbia update is most likely 2-3 weeks away, the share price will drift further, we are not after anything. Hoping it doesn’t reach 10p but regardless it is a great top up opportunity.
Are you two after a trade? Deary me, transparent or what? And if not, grow a pair. This is AIM, the SP could double or treble in just a few sessions with the right news
Yes Wolfy, hardly exciting news for a gold miner that they can now definitely sink money down a tin hole to keep the bosses busy; the history of gold miners forever has been that, rather than sticking to knitting as efficiently as possible thinking of shareholders, they are keener to aggrandise bosses in capital destroying projects. The tin of course may not be that but still even longer to wait for OMI to become profitable and justify a share price, and more cash going out not in! Around 10p seems about fair while we wait it out, but gosh why keep extending our anguish
11p v likely by the end of the week unfortunately, will see 12p today
The link don’t work to that SeingRed, I’ll keep my eye on Gran Colombia, thanks for the nod. I think the main attraction to Orosur is the JV, being paid for the privilege of being in bed with the worlds number 1 and 3 gold miners. As seen elsewhere companies don’t have to be actually mining to achieve a £100m plus market cap. With the amount I have now, once we get there that should be life changing for for me, though I won’t necessarily bail out then, I personally see us heading higher. We’ve been close a couple of times hitting 40p. Realistically I think we’ll be substantially higher than we are this time next year. There’s no get rich quick schemes with exploration and the mining sector. Good luck to all.

link to gran colombia ,producing 200 k oz pa, paying a dividend and another large project . m cap around £300m last time I looked . omi to all intents have 25% of a project that is probably 10 years from gold . sometimes best to be a bit realistic.
for me , sell the spikes , re buy on the drop . going to be plenty of ups and downs. gal
Exciting times indeed Dr Remington. This is the best I've felt with my investment since I've been invested ironically. Apta has de-risked Anza somewhat. Majors armed with a bucket load of research to drill this year. Royal road next door throwing up interesting results, pupino and pepas 15km of strike. The whole of Aragon fault apparently mineralised. Not to mention la Cejita and working hard on licencing which was described as the "grand daddy" to all the over areas surrounding it. Not even getting into the apparent overspend forecasted for this year and the other areas that are part of the land package, not drilled yet or assays are having to go back for retesting as they are juicy. As you mentioned, Brad has used his knowledge and activated first mover status to try and snare another area in the vicinity (that apparently has piqued the interest of other companies). He's secured a low cost JV in a solid tin producing area, that has potential because he can, cause he's not having to fund Anza exploration. He still has other JVs in the pipeline (no doubt checking out on this south American expedition) so I'm expecting news on that front on the not so distant future. New website still not up, I'm wondering if information on other JVs are already included on it otherwise i don't see why it's not went live after tin news? (Alluded in interview it's not up as tin info was on it). The tin area is bordering a mine that has produced a substantial amount of tons of tin in its history with substantial reserves. The region itself exports quite a bit to countries who are hungry and has seen considerable percentage increases at that. Don't want to give it all away but if it's interesting from Brad's perspective then it interests me. He has the geology knowledge, I don't. Via my own research however it's clear to see why he went for it. For those who wanted another gold JV I wouldn't be surprised if the next one was in all honesty but I get the impression Brad isn't too fussy what it is. The conditions are large land package, cheap entry/ conditions and does it have potential. Very much a case of watch this space at the moment.
The share price is disappointing at the minute to say we’re in the best position we’ve been in for years and the share price is currently less than a third of last years and 2020s highs. The news rich period was effected due to Agnico taking over operationship at an unexpected time, the Orosur BOD had spent months planning for the future exploration only to have this all made irrelevant by Agnicos decision to grab the reins. The fact is now Agnico are now ramping up activities on Anza and are intending on spending historical highs on exploration. Agnico are a 18% shareholder in Royal Road Minerals, who are currently drilling Guintar our neighbour which is thought to be a Porphry similar to La Cejita but much smaller and has just returned results of 303m @1.1g/t and 126m @ 1.4g/t. By no coincidence Agnico have now unleashed a 45 man team to work on getting the licenses sorted for La Cejita and are holding back drilling other tenements Pupino and Pepas which are ready to roll in favour of starting on La Cejita first. Three rigs are still churning on Apta, Brad is on his way to Colombia I believe it may already have arrived there. The Colombia update including assays should not be too far away, which will be the first under Agnico operationship. I’m hoping Brad will get more in depth information involving BLEGS, soil rock and other sampling once he arrives at Anza, therefore allowing a update no necessarily material to Agnico and Newmont but important to us and Orosur. As he discussed on the conference call Orosur have also submitted land applications around Anza I wonder if he’ll have a sniff around these. Exciting times ahead, especially once La Cejita licenses and permits sorted, though that could be a few weeks / months. Another presentation due in a few weeks according to Brad so should get some new information then.
I think they may be referring to either a lack of updates in the self-declared 'news rich period' or the dilution of shares via new issues and options, or just their disappointment that they were taken in by all the rampers that infest here and advfn and thus expecting a multi-bagger without delay ?
Slash None of that is in doubt but some people invest without understanding the timescales of mining
Not quite sure how this is a nightmare of a share unless you bought at the peak of the previous Columbia updates? Even if you did and may be underwater at the moment, what in your opinion has not added value to the sp in the last few months, the 1+3 largest mining companies in the world classing this project as a key project which that have until September to continue the Jv with 100’s of assays having to be resampled due to them being over 10gt au, the intention to drill what could potentially be the largest deposit in the area(le cejita)considering there are already mines pulling out 314,000oz of gold a year and to add to that it’s all a free ride now! can anyone see one of these majors not continuing the Jv with more licensing applications in place ? And to add to that the company has diversified into exploration for what is one of the most basic but underloved metals just at the same time as all the worlds biggest car companies are looking for places to start building battery plants ? Brazil want to upgrade their economy the area we are in is known for surface tin mining, imagine what we can fin find below. Total nightmare of a share as no one knows the true value yet of what the company is doing. Sell your shares I’ll buy them.
I know what a nightmare this share is. Give it a bit of time to mature over the next few months. We are just starting to build up after a bit of downtime. Everything is now starting to point to things picking up. I've spent a bit of time checking out the tin play and I can see potential in it for sure. Hopefully Brad is going to bring some some modern techniques to the fore there as historically it's not been very efficient in those parts and there are a few huge mines in the vicinity with monster reserves. Definitely potential there. But we all know the real prize is Anza. Next few months should be interesting.
Nightmare of a share to be in…. The worlds number 1 and 3 miners just taken over all operations at Anza, they have a 45 man team working on the licenses, Agnico are about to spend historical highs on exploration and are extremely eager to explore Anza deemed a key asset by them…. Yes, it’s going to be an absolute nightmare of a year.
