Didnt know they had manufacturing there - but every days a school day
Disciple, maybe worth a peek? And a hello? Seeing as you're in their neigbourhood?
Mologic are in Thurleigh, near Bedford, which is just down the road from me.
In colleague testing trials, Heathrow worked with:
Geneme has proposed a rapid RT-LAMP test which uses a sample collected from a nasal or throat swab to provide results within 30 minutes. It uses a secure application from Yoti that simplifies the capture, processing and result sharing of Covid-19 tests, without needing paperwork. Secure spoof-proof results can be sent to an individual’s phone using the free Yoti app or to a specified email.
Mologic has put forward a lateral flow solution which uses a saliva sample on a test device, which provides a visually read result in 10 minutes.
I-Abra is working with the airport to trial their Virolens testing device to see whether its machine learning holographic microscope, backed by Dell/Intel and partnered with TT Electronics plc for design and manufacturing, can quickly (in under 30 seconds) and accurately identify whether a person is carrying the disease through a self-administered test.
Colleagues were given the option to choose which of the solutions they trialled. However, as the results of these initial trials are only advisory until the methodologies are proven to work in a non-clinical setting, participating colleagues also took a Government approved, privately provided PCR test, administered by Collinson Assistance Services Ltd. to compare their results to Government accredited tests.
Look at the mologic website, they said they were one of three trialled at heathrow.
Thanks mate - Should have known they had a place in Beds (i must admit having trouble keeping up with the information)
Im trtying to make 2+2=73 Lol
But im finding lots of things intriguing and Im obviously writing my own chapters and conculsions
My understanding is that CommonPass trial is still using the abbott test.
Chuggley - no i don't think so. Mologic have manufacturing capacity in Bedfordshire. Mologic CE mark due any day. Then 1-2 months for ODX CE mark.
I am intrigued by the development income from an unnamed source. Highly unlikely it is from Gates. I think it could be something to do with T Cell, or it could be Burnet institute.
OK - so this is by no means a ramp its purely a question or a thought?
So Mologic Manufacturing plant - is that not in another country?
We (Omega) during the presentation - were showing income on LFT from another unknown source? Could it be from Gates or Mologic for the manufacture of Antigen tests that are now being actively used for live testing and that will potentially CE mark the devices - and if so it would also CE mark ODX manufacturing. Obviously this process would be confidential but do we think its possible?
Ekxoc, RTC haven't got any antigen tests. The lfts may not be ready yet. Either way we don't know the answer to the question.
Im not sure they would bother/risk using another test that would inevitably be less accurate, whats hte point when we have better test here now. I suspect they prob do have 360k of the RTC antigen tests if Mologic can manufacture themselves. Its just a shame they are not saying which test is being used. The lack of hardFacts in circulation regarding Covid are shocking.
The SP will turn on a dime
We don't know whose test it is Ekxoc. They have imported 2 million from China so it could be those for all we know. It could be Mologic's- they have been in trials. It doesn't matter. It's a chance for them to try out the approach. It won't preclude us selling asap into this market for mass testing. Anyway I am repeating myself.
So is this the 'new' antigen test.. muist be further forward than I thouhgt if they are already using.. tech transfer isn;t for another month!
Mologic have their own manufacturing capacity don't forget. And after a $20m+ grant from gates, who knows how aggressive they have gone in upscaling.
This thread should be 'Redcar test' really. Ekxoc, yes that's what I thought. They are trying out the exercise of mass testing. They aim to find asymptomatic cases and isolate them. So if it works they can go large everywhere where there are outbreaks. So 26 million people are in tier 2/3 restrictions now so do the maths. Bear in mind the government are still resisting lockdowns.
Doesn't matter who is in use for the Redcar test. If it works they need more than the 2 million cheap tests they have just imported.
This Redcar mass test will be done by 3rd December. Mologic and ODX could be on track by then. ODX will have to turn over the rest of their capacity for this. They will have to find some more tbh.
Agreed! He first of all mentioned "health settings" and then hesitated, mentioned Nottingham Drive through and very quickly moved on. This is significant , first I have heard of this and good confirmation of Moligic progress with the LFD. News should be incoming direcktly!

It sounds to me like they are using the test in anger now ie not testing the test but actually jusing to determine prevalence.
Sounds like antigen test rather than antibody..
It didn't say in the report did it? Would be good if we could track it down- the Redcar mass test. Was it a trial for the test or a trial for the value and deliverability of mass testing? Or both?
So if it's about exploring the value of mass testing (which is how I read it- finding out if we can use fast turnaround data to interrupt/suppress the virus), then it doesn't matter if it's ours or a crap test from China or wherever.
Might I ask where you managed to find that out.. I search but just found the same story over and over.
Thats 360k tests being used... so between that and the heathrow trials will there be any left of the inital 1mil order?
Mologic
Was anyone able to find out what the tests were that are being used for the mass screening at Redcar? Im guessing Avacta or Mologic..
@Vascular - that was posted two months ago and really isn’t relevant to what is being discussed.
Just listening again, when he mentioned the tests being in live trials, when mentioning Nottingham he specifically said in the drive through centres. The Government/NHS run drive through centres. Now that sounds like validation that this test is firmly on the UK Govs shopping list.
Close to finalising development phase. Relatively soon.
Why are you posting this, mologic antigen test being trialled at heathrow is a know fact.
Ck did not mention that now closed trial in the presentation. The report copied over from advfn not only says he did mention it, but recounts that "it is being validated......in Heathrow". Anyone reading the report will think that there is an active trial in Heathrow, and CK said so. Neither of those are true.
I feel it's important not to say the CEO said something, when he did not.
"Mark Davis, CEO, Mologic: “Our involvement in Heathrow Airport’s trial for rapid point of care COVID-19 testing solutions is an exciting, and necessary, step towards getting the UK safely travelling again. As experts in lateral flow technology, our Antigen Test is designed to provide results in 10 minutes, supporting Heathrow’s mission for wide-scale testing for passengers travelling through the airport, to avoid blanket quarantine rules.”
