The above was taken from the 13th July Half Yearly Trading Update RNS.
This begs the question whether the agreement has by now been extended to the products announced since 13th July, (chiefly Winterplex), and whether efforts since mid July are succeeding to the extent envisaged by BoD.
If there has been no agreement extension, we might expect another announcement of other distribution agreements for non-Covid-19 tests.

In the US, the Company has signed a major distribution agreement for its COVID-19 test with a new global strategic partner. The US is delivering significant sales growth for Novacyt and this new agreement enables the Company to accelerate penetration of its COVID-19 test in this important market. This distribution agreement will focus initially on the US, with the potential to expand into further markets.

DEFO A SINGLE PERSON CAN ACHIEVE NOT SO INCONSEQUENTIAL SALES, IF THE RIGHT DEALS CAN BE STRUCK.
THAT BEING SAID, FOR BETTER, WIDER MARKET PENETRATION - I GUESS A SPECIALISED, IN-HOUSE SALES TEAM WOULD BE NECESSARY TO PROPERLY TAP INTO DAT MARKET.
I worked in it not pharma.
Looked after channel and distribution for Hewlett Packard across Europe.
Now we may only have one sales person in USA. However 1 distributor on board will have hundreds of channel partners. These channel partners will have clients.
You only need several of the best distributors on board to cover huge areas.
You don’t have one sales person. You have every sales person in the distributor and all the sales people in the channel

Can I just point out that pipeline medical do not appear to be on the distributor list just posted by sh3 there are already 4 distributors does that make 5? therefore I wouldn't be overly concerned that we only have one employee out there. Possibly one to note ShaunP.

Yes GM mentioned 1 employee in the US. He also said that to better penetrate some specific markets, we need to have direct sales teams. So my feeling is that we might/should acquire a company in the Respiratory and Transplant clinical diagnostics market with already a good sales team. And this would match the strategy of acquiring assets in the supply chain to have a better control on it...

There has been some specualtion since the AGM regarding the US. It is not clear whether GM was saying this was potentially one of our biggest markets or is already one of our biggest. The below is from the Half Year Results 2020 RNS (Sept 17th):
Ref US sales: You have to scroll down a fair way to see a table showing distribution by geographical area. It shows US sales in first half of year at approx. £3.7m. This seems a difficult market to crack and GM talks about reviewing the strategy here: "... it is in the process of evaluating the best model to operate in the US."
And at AGM, GM said only one employee in the US, so I suspect we have not made much traction yet, but that this will be high on the Novacyt agenda.
For discussion what is the quickest way to penetrate the market. OEM? Or has that been tried and failed?
My gut feeling is M&A
