Hi Kalan. With market volatility, senseless price movements and people "experts" quoting 100% opposing views i think a short /long bet is best decided with the flip of a coin, gold Britannia of course. ATB Speedy
That's what I noticed this morning Moneyhawk so if I want to go long the FTSE then buy JLP instead as they are almost and exact copy - but I know what I get with JLP. Fundamentals are out of the window - forecasts are gone, P.E ratios meaningless. We all feel good it all goes up - we all feel bad it all goes down.
Yes Kalan. It's hard to do anything other than skin a few pips. Gardening sounds like a good plan. I've been out on the bike again as so little work to do now. I agree with your policy on trading shares. If you get holding a baby make sure it's pretty and you can be confident it will rebound in better times.
Moneyhawk. Yes of course, the wider picture impacts everything across the board with a few exceptions here and there. Unfortunately nothing can really get off the ground and if it does it's invariably sold into so everyone should take an interest in the indices to some extent. Certainly before chucking in the kitchen sink etc. JLP will come good. The work they are doing now will be setting the foundations for future growth and one day the brakes will come off. The indices will let us know when that is likely to be
OK, so all the discussion on the FTSE isn't hugely relevant to JLP.
However, has anyone else noticed that the FTSE chart and the JLP chart are almost identical for the past month? 3 month chart is also surprisingly similar. i.e. we're moving in line with the market as a whole.
So perhaps is not completely irrelevant to us.
Been looking at going long the FTSE myself - the signals are a bit mixed - considering buying some JLP for the short term instead of the FTSE so if I get it wrong then at least I end up holding a share with a future as a paper loss. Just needs a nudge upwards - maybe an OPEC +++ agreement will do it for the last run of the rally.
May just wait for the current bullish mood to evaporate and get in for the longer term fall - garden time.
Shorters ! No shorts open around here. I've been long twice today at 5590-5600 - Well done Kalan. Very strong support around 5600 and just under so worth closing.
Apologies all for the shorting posts - Will refrain from now on . Good luck all with JLP. Remember I held this for nearly 3 years and that we're all traders/gamblers. We just have different time frames !
Regards
Good to see JLPers getting their board back from the shorters (sold short at 4.6% profit and awaiting new opportunity).
JLP chart confirms what Zac Mir said that 2.4p support is critical and it is being tested now - bounced off 200 day moving average twice. Other indicators mixed but more on the positive side and the upside potential is a maximum of 3.3p IMO - which is about what Zac Mir said. If 2.4p doesn't hold then 2p would be back in play. the charts are quite positive when compared to my gut instinct that all share are going to be heading South again soon. The charts should be relied upon more than my gut instinct that's for sure.
Nothing yet regarding whether lockdown will be lifted. Mining companies are starting to moan that irreparable damage will be done regarding job losses if the shutdown goes on much longer than 16 April.
The biggest issue I think is the small number of people actually being tested for the virus. I'm sure that more news will be coming out over the weekend as this seems to be the time they like to address the nation.
It’s nice seeing prices at that level again, even if it’s just a glitch. Hopefully won’t be too long before we’re back on track. Not really heard too much about SA, any views if their lockdown will be lifted after the initial 3 weeks?
Its shocking.. couldnt log on half the time.. really frustrating
Oh yeah! Stupid me!
This site is a hive of glitches. Look at the date of the trades.
But confused...is anyone else seeing the last trades going through at 3.80ish?
