MoD looking for British shipyards to build support ships
https://ukdefencejournal.org.uk/mod-looking-for-british-shipyards-to-build-support-ships/
Jabido ref 10.59 post I think this event is for possible sub contractors to the main bidders. The article does say that participation is through the bidders that will be attending. If that is the case I suspect that Team Resolute are one of the bidders.
Brilliant spudtheplumber glad I topped up last week.
Oops sorry for that double post... here's the link to the latest fss article. Hope we are attending!

Hi Stokey I don't know the measurements at rosyth but UK defence journal know their nuggets so I assume their assessment is correct. Plus JW states in the PR that Belfast is one of 2 dry docks large enough to take the QE class. So presume rosyth is the other. Spud, great link, you beat me to it! Again for those on twitter, UK defence journal is worth a follow. There's also a new article about the fss that IL link. Hope everyone is well on here, not posting much these days as not much news is flowing. Hope that changes soon!
Good find Spud great to see we are being considered shows great confidence
Dry docks available and dimensions

Note the access at Rosyth
Also worth a read
HMS QE has already been drydocked at Rosyth

spudtheplumber ref 09.53 post oldtimer will correct me if I am wrong but I do not believe that the dry dock at Rosyth is long enough for the Queen Elizabeth Class to dock.
Bubble2021 ref 10.00 post Any bid for BAB will provide an early indication of how HMG will use its powers under the National Security and Investment Act. Any foreign bid will attract a Mandatory referral. I can see the Secretary of State making it a condition of giving clearance that the defence contracts are spun out into a separate company.
Are the government looking at another shipbuilder instead of Bab**** ?,hence why they sold off part of the company last week and possibly more ,what does anyone think ?,am just trying to view things in a different perspective with the hope some of these building contracts come infras way ,don't drag me down am trying to be honest and open about things here
Spud ,great find there ,indeed would be very good contract, reading about Bab**** this morning possible target,if they do sell out will the government contracts be reviewed as of many companies in a takeover do they go back and say we got price wrong and want it revised or honour the contract or contract it out to others lowering the cost ?
https://ukdefencejournal.org.uk/belfast-and-rosyth-competing-to-drydock-carriers/
Doesn't help short term of course but would be a very prestigious contract to win
Just for the record copied is my recent e-mail to daera see below:

To:MarineLicensingTeam@daera-ni.gov.uk + 2 more Details
Hi Marine Licensing Team,
Thank you for your reply to me of the 21st July it was very much appreciated.
It was good to see that my query regarding timeframes for making a decision was drawn to the attention of the Minister.
Your reply to me was some 4 weeks ago & I was wondering when the Minister will be able to answer my query of the 9th July see my e-mail below.
Regards
My Query e-mail of 9th July:
It has been stated in earlier e-mails that 'there is no timeframe for the Minister to make their decision' but following a consultation there must be some form of timeframe otherwise what was the point of having had a consultation. Is there not a legal time period that resolution to a consultation is achieved.
Is it possible for my question to be forwarded to the Minister to make him aware that this question is being asked.
To answer the question: adjusted for splits, consolidations etc: the share price in 2008 was about £420 (yes pounds) in today’s terms. More recently, in 2014, it was about £12. Towards the end of 2016 was the last time it was above £1. This company has been a relentless and on-going investor capital destruction machine (worse than a -99.9% return) . For the management it’s a very different story of course, they have made tens of millions and are highly motivated to keep the investor-to-manager cash funnel show on the road. “Big RNS coming in a matter of days”. Yawn.
Chrisatrdg,
What a wonderfully appropriate typo in your most recent post!
Sorry, couldn't resist.
NigelHaemoglobin ref 13.34 post I am inclined to the view that INFA are in a good place to land a significant proportion of the fabrication contracts for the WTGs in relation to both the Crown Estate and the Crown Estate Scotland leases for two connected reasons. Firstly, there is the large fabrication footprint that INFA have with Methil and Arnish. Secondly, there is the local content provisions in both the Crown Estate and Crown Estate Scotland Leases.
Hi Folks - Well being inpatient I decided to top up again in my ISA & just added 29,034 shares at 17.225.FINGERS CROSSED.I am now showing Buy.
Holding out some hope that further WTG jacket contracts are in the pipeline and accumulating on that basis. Quite concerned though about overreach particularly Appledore. The thing is, will we British be allowed to fabricate and commission green infrastructure or are we being turned into tax slaves?

Chrisatrdg ref 11.54 post as the next payment on Appledore is due Wednesday and £300,000of the purchase price will be in shares we will get an RNS on Tuesday or Wednesday to record that there has been an issue of equity in the region of 1.5m shares.
I have just Sold my UK Biotech shares too avoid going into loss shares held in my Stock ISA & made a modest profit.I topped up last week & now showing a further loss in total a loss of £8k (61%).Thats the background.
I have once again e-mailed daera to find out what the minister has to say to my earlier e-mail well you never know.
The punch line (I think) just looking at the market capitalisation of £21m what value would you put on Harland & Wolff alone & then add in Appledore etc it has to be in excess of £21m (some say that is the value = 17p approx).I would say much more considering the climate we are now in with regards the UK MOD wishing to build more ships plus wind farm expansion.I agree with stokey12 expect some sort of RNS soon.
In summary I am going to wait for positive news & Buy on the next rise double my existing holding through my ISA account - fingers crossed.
What matters is whether Boris, and the Tories, are really interested in a prosperous, independent, United Kingdom. If they are: grants and contracts will come our way. If they aren't, then the ports, docks, ship building and fishing fleets will be left to rot until another EU referendum is announced. I'm hoping for the former. Time will tell.
GLA
ban4118 ref 11.25 post I have just checked see the RNS of 25 August 2020 for the complete details but the next instalment is due next week Wednesday. The first payment on the Saipem Contract should cover it. Also any advance payment on the repair work on the Azura may also cover it. The cash element is only £1m which should be affordable.
A very good summary Lottie. The political landscape has been woeful for years, and remarkably seems to become even more I'm competent by the day.
Desperately need some decent statesmen/women to help rocket us away from this awful era!
Track record would suggest pump before the raise
Does anyone know when the next installment is due? Paying for this without a raise will bring confidence.
