Thanks Stokey. May have to take a little detour down to Appledore and have a nosey next time I'm over that way.
Might even bump in to JW. Never know. :)
May see my mate on the council tomorrow if he's in and see if he has any news he can divulge.
Will inform the board if I find out anything of worth.
Cheers, Si. :)
Si_Derman In relation to your 12.22 post it was not explained but I would hazard a guess at either the dry dock or fabrication hall as it was a large empty space.
Not signed up to Linkedin so can't see the pics. :(
What's the pic of?
Many I guess but some are clearly from companies respecting H&W - there is clear support.
Chrisatrdg In relation to your 11.31 post i wonder how many of the congratulatory messages are from people who are fishing for work.
Message from JW.
'Nice to see work progressing with our reactivation plan in Harland and Wolff Appledore.'

Edit: Good picture.
Let's hope so major, its always nice to be above 40. Re the article, can anyone summarise what it says please? I've made 3 attempts to pay for subscription but I just can't do it. I refuse to pay for the torygraph :(
Be good to hold above 40 until news starts flowing.
Yeah, bring in those Canuckistan doll hairs.
All are welcome. ;)
Lotto, got to build the Ukrainian ships first ,then the expertise /workforce would be in place to build mod ships in the future ,just my thinking though but all good news for infra going forward,ml license and gas storage news must be close imho
Both the Telegraph and Mail pick up on his remarks about re-energising the shipbuilding sector. Whilst very positive they refer to 2023 as likely impact.
Loosegoose - In relation to your 09.04 post I did not notice that thanks for the info.
Came across this article https://www.naval-technology.com/features/ukraine-to-boost-naval-capabilities-with-uk-loan/ On reading it there would seem to be the possibility of other defence related work coming from Ukraine as part of the Strategic Partnership Agreement.
Stokey12, I noticed that the Oceanex Avalon is not listed in the schedule from the end of October to December. Maybe you’re right.
27% of supplier contracts still to be determined....
There is nothing in the contract that compels Bab**** to use other UK shipbuilders to build blocks of the vessels. However, once the detailed design phase is complete, they will look at whether there would be any cost and efficiency benefit of sub-contracting blocks to other yards. Typically building blocks at dispersed locations adds costs to shipbuilding but the timescale and capacity at Rosyth may require Bab**** to involve others in fabrication work.

I was looking up the Oceanex Connaigraas it is due tomleave on the 14 to see if it was likely that any repeat business is possible. Found this information https://www.ship-technology.com/projects/oceanex-connaigra-conro-ship/ The most interesting thing is that it was built at the FSG shipyard which currently has an empty order book. Alsp it has three other ships in the class who are likely to need overhauling. Cross yourfingers for some more Cannadian visitors.
Yesterday's tweet https://twitter.com/Harland_Wolff1/status/1314573644979482625 from afar it looks like it will be ready to sail as planned in four days time. Also it would be a good advertisment of what the yard can do. Hopefully it will lead to some more business.
Glad am invested aswell
Can't see any further than my nose thanks TTNY
Major T & Chris - fully agree with your sentiments altho I haven't seen the BBC coverage. Proud to be a holder in this venture. any links?
It's a great yard, a great story and great to be part of it.
I have just watched the' H&W on the BBC N'I & I have to say I feel proud to be an investor in INFA supporting that work force & supporting future British Shipbuilding.
BillB, as soon as a large contract drops, especially a symbolic one to build a ship - even if it's a small one. I reckon Boris would want to be involved in that. Let's not forget JW said recently "weeks" for the ML.......
This will get exciting! Just don't know when??? ATB
