Markets are always forward looking and realistically expectations were never too high to start with. What countries can we fly to in time forcpeak summer holidays is the question.
cw1966, how old were you?
Disappointed Tatooine wasn't on the list too. I haven't see my droid for more than a year now.
Simon Calder adding some humour to the UK government's green travel list, see below. Gotta laugh, list is a bit of a joke.
'Mordor is a late addition to the green list, being slightly more accessible than the South Sandwich Islands.
Rumours that Ryanair plans flights from Stansted, though they will actually touch down in Gondor (known as Mordor West).
Narnia also on the cards for the next green list.'
TP, sold at 204, marginal loss to dump everything in Easy Jet as I was convincing myself US would not be on green list. In Easy jet 1062 so more than covered loss and already making plenty of gain. Because Spain and Greek islands are not on the travel list, especially the Canaries which is a very difficult one to defend if a mainland country Portugal can be included and the same for many Greek islands, I think the Easy Jet boost might be more muted on Monday - if there is one now. I suspect given the border force were at the press briefing that the reason the islands have not been included is because the border control is now going to be so massively over complicated and quite unnecessary and will simply not be able to handle the traffic. All that goodwill and votes in Hartlepool - that'll turn on a sixpence! Whilst hedging my bets correctly, the overall gain is going to be much lower than it could be because of more very poor mucking up on the travel by government. Will probably sell Easy J on market opening Monday.
So long as the world keep jabbing away it’s only going to get better. Bookings for 2022 will start flooding in as confidence grows.
Not to mention winter ski breaks and shopping in USA over Xmas etc this year.
Travel industry should push for a granular approach to include islands in the green list, e.g. Canaries, Balaerics, Greek Islands. Disappointing, but hopefully the lists will change quickly over the coming weeks/months ahead under the review process. Expect the US to be added very soon.
I'm very surprised that China was not on the green list as they currently have very low covid risk and are an important business travel destination to boot.
When the next revision of the green list is issued in 3 weeks I would expect China and also USA to be among those added and when that happens I would expect a significant re-rate from current SP.
Of course not much of a list but GS had no choice but to publish something! guess we will all be taking holidays in St Helana or the Falkland islands to watch penguins....;)
On a more +ve note, one thing to remember is that this list is reviewed every 3 weeks and world is vaccinating as fast as possible so real SP take off will most likely happen after the half term break....and when USA gets on the list...
Add to the fact that IAG has cut cash burn significantly, it won't take a lot of pax to get IAG back into black as they will be able to charge a premium for the first holidays!!!
Glad it closed blue. may drop on Monday but will bounce back soon enough as 3 weeks is not long to wait!
GLA
Australia will open to us in 2022
To be reviewed every 3 weeks
Big-blue
Did you sell your IAG investment today as it went over 212?
I Dont think Australia and New Zealand will want us yet
When does this get reviewed? Remember it's half term in a couple of weeks. They do not want people running around allover Europe.
100 BA flights a day to the Falklands from the 17th!!!! Most of them all fully booked for months!!! Sorry Bblue.
So, Monday Easy Jet to peak, cash in. Then time the slump in IAG due to no US possibly Tuesday or Wednesday. Then day trade between the two on rumours hoping they keep out of sync as they are now.
Does BA fly to the Falklands, lol. I'd like to go there and feed the penguins.

Singapore
Australia
New Zealand

Iceland
Gibraltar
Falkland Islands

South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands
St Helena, Tristan de Cunha, Ascension Island
where can i find the full ist - is the Caribbean on the list?
Singapore is the hub for connections in Asia. So that being on the list is a good thing.
I anticipated US not being on the list as well knowing how reckless the people there are (No offence). But that means in three weeks time, US will most likely on the list. The price will still move North with this anticipation.
Unless Covid infection rate gets worse before the next three weeks, IAG share will fly.
So where can I travel abroad to from May 17?
Australia
Iceland
Israel
Gibraltar
New Zealand
Portugal including Madeira and Azores
Singapore
The green travel list is due to be reviewed every few weeks, so it is anticipated other popular holiday destinations such as Spain, France and mainland Greece could make the list by the end of June.
So US not on list. My call, I'm right, bark away filter list.
Wrong one! lol
