Academy - interesting - I used AISC from NC press release - they are significantly lower than the Pretivm ones quoted in their annual reports. Not got time to look and see if Pretivm have debt costs built in and NCM are clearing debt.
Anyway - district scale potential is what has attracted NC - Red Chris success probably got them looking for more Canadian assets they could pick up.
Maybe 4 years into production we will takeover newcrest. :-)))
''I'd be disappointed with 24% above current shareprice''.
Not sure we can draw comparisons.
Pretivm's Brucejack mine has produced ~1.4Moz since July 2017.
Where would our share price be 4 years into production?
https://www.pretivm.com/brucejack/overview/default.aspx
silver and gold is ready to make a major jump up
Just got another chunk
and right now it drains newcrest of cash resource before they can even begin to build up to acquire ggp should it ever happen. Granted they may have deep pockets.:)
I know all take overs are different but the bhp offer for normont is 213 % . So I don't think we can compare any other takeovers as a guide .
''I'd be disappointed with 24% above current shareprice''.
Having taken all the early risk (approaching 8 years ago now first invested) I'd be absolutely f'kin livid personally!!!
Havieron!
Havieron!
I would not get drawn into trying to draw any potential comparisons with Haverion. Brucejack is a well defined resource that has been producing for the last 4 years. We have an undefined resource which will ultimately dwarf the Brucejack operation.
Nothing to stop NC doing the same to Greatland. I'd be disappointed with 24% above current shareprice. Not sure they will though!
Going back to a topic where BiggL was trying to convince everyone that the NPV discount rate should be at high corporate lending rate levels, people should note that Pretium use a 5% discount rate in arriving at their NPV on Brucejack....which will probably equate to well below the 4% used by GGP on Hav when the 24% premium paid by NCM is taken into account.
Learner - page 12 of the featured presentation you’ll see the AISC’s

estimated gold production of 311koz per annum at an All-In Sustaining Cost of $743 per ounce of gold over a projected 13 year mine life
Newcrest already had 4.8% of the shares. Pretivm shareholders being offered 24% premium on their share price.
Looks very smart buy from NC. NC will own 6 tier 1 ore bodies. 140 km from Red Chris.
Pretium’s AISC is around $1,100. GGP’s is around $640. Very crude, but if you add a conservative 50% to your $800, apply to a very possible 10m Oz resource, then we’re looking at 12bn USD for HAV, or 3.6bn USD/ 2.6bn GBP for our 30% of HAV. We’ll just have to wait a while to prove it all up.
Not sure if I have got this right but I make the gold equivalent for silver as approx 270,000 ounces.
Let’s round it up to 3.5 Million ounces of gold (3.1 m ounces of gold and 400,000 of gold equivalent).
They are paying C$3.5 billion, which when converted to US dollars, makes it US $800 an ounce.
Would someone please check my figures please.
Thanks SAS.
Inferred 3.1Moz Au & 13.4Moz Ag
The total equity value pursuant to the Transaction is approximately C$3.5 billion on a fully diluted basis. Newcrest currently owns approximately 4.8% of Pretivm’s shares. If consummated, the Transaction would result in Pretivm shareholders owning approximately 8% of Newcrest, on a fully diluted basis.
0.8 C$ to the US$ which makes the deal worth 2.8 billion US dollars.
Does anyone know what amount of gold this company has? We could work out how much an ounce, Newcrest have paid, to give us a guide about Havieron.
Sorry guys , but the link appears to be blocked - goodness knows why. It is only associated info.
Just go online to the NCM website. A canadian Tier 1 mine called Pretivm , cash and /or shares. Very high grade , lowish AISC .
