WW3 on its way??? You want to hope not, no life, no family, no money, nothing. World totally uninhabitable for 100’s of years to come. Plick!
The SOD (Secretary of Defence) is quite right . The Russian pretext for invading the Ukraine is ludicrous and no one can rightly argue otherwise. Those who sympathize with Russia and it's ever shrinking sphere of influence need to understand that no one wants to partner up with a bully prone to acts of violence when its demands aren't met.
Yet the Kremlin keeps pushing the same strategy.
Russia is the largest country in the world filled with untold mineral wealth. It has plenty oil and a highly educated people. It should be one of the top 3 economies in the world but look at it.
The Kremlin seems filled to the rafters with yesteryears men ,living in yesteryears world ,playing yesteryears games. Russia has only its self to blame .
Bet its a ploy to assassinate Putin !! WW3 on its way
They can hardly have talks in Minsk whilst Russian troops are in Belarus crossing the border ....and to have talks Ukraine basically has to surrender first
They know his demands no nuks no nato no compromise and no eu membership. All good it Ukraine can agree. Not invested here but hate to see folks losing money here
China influence in that Minsk "diplomacy"
RUSSIAN FOREIGN MINISTRY SAYS WE REGRET THAT KYIV HAS CUT TIES WITH MOSCOW
run for the hills. more sanction to come!!!
There are reports that putin ready to send delegation to Minks for talks with Ukraine
Added today too, still undecided if i got balls to hold over weekend tho.
Been a while but started scaling back in.
Audaces Fortuna Iuvat.
I was watching gazprom yesterday, I guess it’s all linked like you say to sanctions. I wonder if at any point fxpo will say anything, guess it’s difficult for them to comment as they really don’t know next steps. Russia could continue now being under heavier sanctions for years.
Rosneft, Gazprom, VTB Bank all down 15-18%. FXPO isn't going to experience sanctions of course, but gives an idea of what to expect for listed Co's with exposure to the region.
He did 8 years ago, just needed a new pretext to invade further into Ukraine since the ceasefire, which he's managed/managing to fabricate.
So I guess he’s invaded then!!
He's got the pretext to help the "independent rebels" to roll in to the Donbass region and apply serious pressure to the foothold they made in 2014. I'm guessing to secure the 5 south and eastern regions to the Dnieper River. Having enough potential forces that if the Ukraine fight too hard then they'll take Kyiv from the north (also splitting forces away from the frontlines in the southeast). They want Ukraine to give them an excuse to take out the leadership, but at the same time take bites out of the country. A show of strength followed by a reactionary show of force if they fight back too hard.
I'd actually sold at 230p as with more research I came to this conclusion. Yes it was too soon, but I could see the bigger picture of what's been going on for the past 8 years building up to this and wasn't comfortable staying in when there's other option out there). The war has already been paid for by the increasing of gas/oil prices over the past 6 months and could have been seen as a precursor to sanctions imposed. They've basically gotten Europe to pay for the war and sanctions already. Does Putin really care about the human cost of the war? Probably not if it keeps the general public focused on something other than his lessening support. What percentage believe he's actually doing something right for the country here could be a problem for him, but all vocal dissidents are dealt with. Too much power, and hungry for more. I put a floor on my chart around 190p with things changing as they are. Wouldn't expect much lower than that until the frontline move significantly towards the mine. If/when a ceasefire is called, if the infrastructure to export is still intact then this will likely shoot back to 300-400p in no time, like the last month.
Land corridor to Crimea.
Looks like Putin is going for the natural split of Ukraine along the language divide. Gives him the land corridor to Ukraine.
How long will this take to pan out? If the Russian troops roll in it could take a few days only. Putin gets a bloody nose and its over.
Solid long term support at £1.25.
My view fwiw - worst case scenario is the Russian invasion and subsequently Ukraine fractures along the lines of the language divide. Putin also picks and chooses the choice business assets as well as territory. FXPO keep the mine and can still distribute product but pay taxes to the Kremlin.
Happy days after all but the uncertainty is killing it at present and the actual invasion (should it transpire) will be the catalyst for the fire sale to long term SUPPORT.
GLA
ok if that is the case defense Secretary with long legs then let Russia put nuks in Cuba and with Mexico in proportion to what NATO has done and only if attacked with a identical NATO type agreement, there problem solved kids and now be friends again and go and play with each others dicks and toys. Look my view they are all controlled by the same puppet master simple as that regardless of china russia west middle east or any of them.
