£5 by Monday of this week. Definitely.. . I think. Yes, I'm certain. But then, maybe, "this Monday" has already passed? Oh I don't know. OK - £4.99p by close of play yesterday; yes, that's it. For sure. 100%.... Yesterday IS Thursday? Right? Shoot, this investing malarky sure aint easy.
No one can predict the market. You are not buying a SP. You are buying a piece of DARK(albeit a very small piece). If you are happy with the price buy it
What time on Monday sheltie? Please don't use my name in the reply. I wouldn't want people who don't know me to associate me with any other unknown individual. You can't be too careful.
Sheltie. Curiosity got the better of me. I should know better at my age. If I was a newbie to this bb I might have got the impression that CR888 knew something that would boost the SP. Reality is, as you have been saying consistently, this may eventually come good but for now there is a tidal wave of issues to overcome, not least hedge funds smelling blood.
I have gradually been buying back into Dark on the dips. But, just when I think the SP can't go any lower.... it does! How many more shorters are going to come out of the woodwork with yet another twist to give the sp a bashing!
Watchman, I'm very disappointed in you. It's very clear what Charles is referring to. There will be a crossing of the tea bags, interspersed with a screwdriver rotation, circum-navigated by a small bollinger pig, painted pink with a 4 day MA. That does not happen often in the market I can tell you; so I can see a huge rise here very shortly. £5 by Monday of this week.
Good things that could happen this week is Microsoft earning and Fed interest rate which could reverse Nasdaq downtrend.
I think the big news Charles had in mine is the Mike Lynch news. This will be big, but can be bad also. There are actually 2 court cases, the one that is coming up in 2 weeks is to whether the Priti will need to decide now whether to approval the deportation. The other one is civil case, which is Priti is waiting for. The result of latter can happen any time now. This will almost certainly cause big changes in SP, but unless ML actually dump his shares, I think any turmoil will settle after a few months, which may not be a bad thing to remove uncertainty. I'm mentally prepared to get such bad news, and make sure I financially won't need to sell my shares in 2 years time. On the other hand, SP could spike if civil court rules in his favour and there is no case for deportation. So, yea, it is a huge gamble.
Sorry for being Charlish, but another remote yet market moving news is for Darktrace to declare they have successfully defended US infrastructure from Russian hackers.
I can't believe I'm asking this. What something do you think could be big and positive? Or is it just wishful thinking?
From this level - something Big and positive could happen anytime in next 2/3 weeks or so - let’s see
*Unfortunately, seems like this share has only one direction these days even with the good results.
I guess its a longer term hold now to see if the paper losses can be re-gained.
Unfortunate, seems like this share has only one direction these days even with the good results.
I guess its a longer term hold now to see if the paper losses can be re-gained.
and what if they can't 'educate' big investors to buy in? What then?
Are big investors going to try catching a falling knife when the ML spectre still looms overhead?
Dark if they educate new big investors Funds that buy in … then could be good for sentiment
sheltie, I don't agree with your view about Darktrace's tech. Unfortunately, I think that represents view from general public and traditional institutional investors. I think we're just at the beginning of tech-hating cycle, this will not improve in few weeks time. If we ignore the ML factor which can go either directions, I guess we might have to wait till Darktrace's annual report in October to prove that profitability is within reach before the turn of the tide.
possibly Ndn, but I'm not convinced (re. DT). I think DT has been sucked into the general vortex and is struggling to alienate itself from being labelled as "tech". Just my thoughts though! My gut says it's being put in the same box - online or not. Certainly looks that way and the next couple of weeks will either cement that thinking, or prove me wrong. At this stage, it is firmly in a bearish 'tech negative sentiment bubble' it seems to me. Flu and Covid both 'appear' to be one and the same, and are commonly mistaken, until a PCR Test is taken . . .! Know what I mean!? Very blurred boundaries here. Today's modest rise is the expected daily 'recovery', but certainly it's not the 'story'. . . Off to see a big Fund Manager now (no, not in this space!)
Yes the FT article on THG - your points are noted
Certainly War anywhere not good at all
There’s one person on this board who seems to think war would be good for DT. Let’s hope they don’t find out how wrong that is.
Lat - it’s not about tech shares being “cheap” anymore. It’s a wider sell-off/negative sentiment across the tech sector thing. Sure the Ukraine doesn’t help, but overall it’s one thing after another for DT, so we can’t keep apportioning blame to weekly incidents. For me, it’s deeper than that, within a very unloved tech sector. Below tells the tale of over-priced and over-hyped technology shares. A good read nonetheless as although referring to THG much of it applies to DT too . .this may not be the end of a major sector sell-off I suspect. Some recovery today will happen, but I wouldn’t bet against the shorters making plenty more money out of this during February and March. The sector is very much out of favour. Just a matter of how long that negative sentiment now goes on for. For the Banks it was over a decade!! Today will be better but that’s not the story; it’s just a recovery day. . .

Well we started this morning at 423p so who knows where we could end up. Even that I thought was cheap.
I liked the last update and the multi million pound recent major airline contract so will be holding in any case.
Fingers crossed !
Even Microsoft was down 6.5% at a point and Nvidia down 11%, many nasdaq companies' SP were below than a year ago. ?I have never seen anything like that, I thought the war had begun.
Now the US indices are in green, and Darktrace after hour UT is low volume, hope tomorrow will be a good day to recover to 400p (pray pray pray).
Just returned home after a few hours out to find that the US markets have completely turned themselves around.
*The Dow Jones from being about 900 points down at one point finished up 99 points.
*Nasdaq from being down over 500 points down at one point ended up 86 points.
One of the biggest turnarounds I have ever known.
Never saw that one coming at all !! Very blue day tomorrow imho.
Hopefully not a dead cat bounce - the Algos sold and bought today …
Anything can happen
