TBH I hope 2021 brings better fortune in a whole range of issues. Meanwhile "Stay safe"
You may be on the right lines..or maybe not. But if cpx was to go for a Royalty agreement would it draw a line in the sand and start afresh with Maxwell or somehow seek to incorporate punitive damages for years of infringement....all assuming they win the case or it is settled.?
Sarniasharie - what a great post! I think you must be me in disguise...almost to the exact running losses and longer term view but an ability to say what I think much more cogently and more sensibly!!! I still own an awful lot of shares and but for CPX my overall portfolio has clawed back its Covid inspired losses! But we said 2021 is pay day so its got time....even if i was premature (not for the first time?!) in my stake building.
Cap-xx is a hugely frustrating share to own and having been in for years it just doesn't seem to get the upward traction that I expect. However they have IMO positioned themselves very well for the future. The factory relocation, the man plant and the defence of their IP is excellent. The new website and the blog is great. No point arguing about AK - I think he has his finger on the pulse but evidently some think he is out Sailing everyday - Thats life eh! I guess if AK read the bulletin board he would think that some of us were so "off the mark" with our thinking that we should go! I think that whatever level you bought into Cap-xx - you've paid your money - so take your chances or sell and run! BTW I am 49% down overall so did not call this right - but optimistic! Good luck to all and constructive posting is always a delight to read - moaning and backstabbing - less so!
OS what would happen if the factory burnt down? What would happen if a madman attacked the work force with a machine gun? What would happen if someone admitted fraude? And on and on and on and on...........We can all play the game! Thing is most people have reasonable what ifs!
Agreed PP1 I also think they have brought him in to negotiate a settlement, otherwise it would of just been left to the courts to decide where a favourable outcome was expected. I see this as a very positive sign with Maxwell/Tesla finally coming to the table. I'm holding out until the Murata deal has completed and the Maxwell deal is concluded......if these get screwed up then perhaps OS has a point but these are potentially huge pieces of news that could significantly increase the share price.
Why don't you do some research and stop digging f'in holes you clown
People What was CDE's settlement ? Commercial in confidence. two fifths of three eights of FA no doubt. What will happen if we lose against Maxwell (heaven forbid) ? Will this mean that existing licensees could challenge their licence. How long do their licences last for at present ? Are they renewable?
It's not really prey to algos, it's a natural retrace from a 50% rise. It's re-testing the 200ema. Fundamentals are key but technicals help you manage the trade accordingly. Or at least that's my approach. People will trade either way to make money.
One of the issues with this company..and there are several ...is that it is prey to 10/20% skimmers and maybe algos/bots.
Thus it almost automatically loses any gains. One of the main factors is that the 'profit' taker has he perceives limited downside by trading this way, since there is no chance of being blindsided by a surprise RNS, as there aren't any. Thus FOMO doesn't really apply here...might as well skim away and take crumbs of profit. See this pattern continuing (3-4p) until there is something of substance from the company.
Well spotted Claretjay, that Chris P Perque joined the CAP-XX legal team against Cornell Dubilier Electronics (CDE) before their court case settlement with CAP-XX. Looks promising for a settlement with Maxwell/Tesla.
Profile is most interesting : https://www.bestlawyers.com/lawyers/chris-p-perque/42475
No doubt it will signal that Cap-xx is serious !!! Tesla/Maxwell could easily buy Cap-xx out of small change !! If found to be in the wrong and considering the actions of companies before ( TDK,AVX,Murata) it likely wouldn't go down well with judiciary so an exponential award would send this stratospheric
Mr Chris P. Perque joined our team v’s CDE before the agreement with them. It does appear to be his speciality.
nice to see, CPX have a vey good team of lawers already as we know, however, adding even more ammo in the form of Mr. Perque at this juncture is exactly the right thing to do. With the previous judgement setting the precedent now is the time to throw everything at Tesla/Maxwell to ensure all patents are licensed going forward and compensation for the blatent use of cpx patented products over past years. They were invited to licence but chose to ignore.
A very real chance an aim minnow will take a giant leap forward from here. This is the opportunity many LTH's have envisaged for some time. XS power and Maxwell /Tesla now firmly in sight and with a $5mill award for the same offence having been set last week I'm glad I added more to my position here prior to the rn's....as ever in these situations many other investors will likely jump on board as news breaks and/or the price surges ahead of news flow, that's how the mkts work, however for those who have followed the story here (through the ups, there's been a few and downs, there's been a few more) the current sp clearly offers huge potential over coming weeks

The high value of the recent win against Ioxus may have persuaded AK that there is value in investing further resources into pursing the likes of Maxwell. Maybe they would have expanded their legal team anyway.
A settlement could come at any time, I would expect a stronger CPX legal team to make this come sooner rather than later.
No! We are going for the biggest bang for our buck! His speciality!
So what does mean in the real world ? We were supposed to have hired the best before so who is the new guy and why . If our case is supposedly so cut and dried why is this necessary. If anything it tells me yes we are not going to cave in but we are in for a long and expensive fight and there can only be one winner
Confirmation we are going after Maxwell TESLA :) :) :)
“He has also drafted and negotiated more than $30 billion in transactions related to intellectual property”
Show me the money ;)
Just hope he’s on a no win no fee basis lol

'Pro hac vice (English: /pro? hæk 'vi?t?e?/), Latin: "for this occasion" or "for this event" (literally, "for this turn"),[1] is a legal term usually referring to a practice in common law jurisdictions, whereby a lawyer who has not been admitted to practice in a certain jurisdiction is allowed to participate in a particular case in that jurisdiction.[2] Although pro hac vice admission is available in every American jurisdiction,[3] civil law jurisdictions generally have much stricter rules for multi-jurisdictional practice.[4]' ....i'm still no wiser ...
